Okay but how satisfying was it to watch the ink dry on the black paper???

The streakiness of the white pen is partly because the '8' pen is a thinner nib! I've found that the white gelly roll marked '10' on the barrel is a lot more opaque and less streaky because of its slightly broader nib.

I don't know why, but I never realised how opaque these pens are (even considering the white highlighter one!) Nice job as always Kasey! :D I love the neon ones the best somehow even though I didn't think I would :O

Tip for frustrated gelly roll users: lick your finger, then scribble in that spot. It will unclog the dried up paint that keeps the ball from turning. Took me several years to discover that one, and it makes a huge difference.

The black glaze pen is called a different name cause when it dries it has a raised effect so if you ran your fingers across your art you’d feel bumps where you used the black pen. I have the white glaze one and it’s honestly really cool to use cause it’s kinda translucent and also has a “glazed” effect so ya lol

I know you didn't like it, but I absolutely loved the bear. It's so cute and would make a lovely post/greetings card! I love gel pens but I only have the white jelly roll, might have to get some more 👀

my first thought is how much money four packs of jelly rolls must cost, but in my mind im still that 12 year old at the grocery store mooning at all the gel pens and not getting any bc mom says theyre too expensive 😔

I bought like a 72 set of these when they had a sale for Christmas last year, my mom thought I was crazy for spending so much money on pens 😂

My favourite set of gelly rolls are the gold shadow ones! theyre so pretty they're ormal colours but have this super nice gold glitter that shows in the right light.

Oh hi, I'm a construction worker but my mother is an artist and I took one of her gelly rolls to work one day. Then it lived in my tool bags for 5 years and I'd use it solely for making corrections to prints because no one else else had a sparkly purple pen so everyone could tell what I did. Sadly someone liked my gelly roll more then me and stole it. So I went on Amazon and was overwhelmed with the amount of gelly rolls avaliable. I will probably end up buying them all to see which I like the best but in the mean time I wanted to see if RU-vid could help me see what the different types looked like so thank you for your help! I figured I should mention why non artists would like this video because of your into lol. The splotch test was very helpful!

Is it just me who found it deeply satisfying to watch the gray pens lighten as they dried on black paper? 😁 The finish on the bear almost reminded me of Posca pens 🤔. I've got the Glaze pens and find the slower you go, the less streaks you get. Also, colouring the borders then going in a circular motion helps. 😊

Thats my favorite mermaid and you have done a lot of beautiful oned but she look so cool and love the shape. I also like the metalic and pastel illustration a lot.

I finally bought some white gel pens for highlights, and I’m so excited to use them! I love how gel pens can go over drawings as if they’re paint.

I’m OBSESSED with everything grey & grey scale. I literally stopped the video as soon as I saw the grey scale set (as I didn’t know they had a grey scale set) and ordered them on amazon. I seriously CANNOT WAIT.

The best set of pastel, actual pastel colours, of gel pens I ever had was the Pentel Mily Gel Roller. They were so good. I was so sad when I took them out again (my uni notes were full of doodles made with them), only to find out some had kind of dried out or separated. The Uniball are the only ones I found that were kind of similar, but still, not true pastel and a very limited range...

honestly? i like the bear and umbrella the best. the color palette is so soft and nice and its just so cute

honestly i kinda love the streakiness in the grayscale ghost one?? it makes it feel very sketchy and organic

I love Gelly Rolls and have them all! Glaze, puff, classic, stardust, the golden/silver erasable, metallic & moonligth. Ive known this for a long time, there are a ton of different ways to use them, each tipe is completly different from the others.

The animal heads for the swatches was such a cute idea!!!!!!

I got my blacklight pens a few days ago for my school notes and art. Best investment I've ever made.

The Sakura Glaze pens are my absolute fave! I use the black and the gun metal to decorate the covers of all my sketchbooks, the white glaze pen is fabulous and opaque and I use it for almost all my watercolour art. The glaze pens do stay ‘glossy’ giving your work an almost varnished finish. For my doodles this works perfectly 🎨💜

I'm an artist and bullet journal-er so I love me some Gelly Rolls especially for my black bujo at the beginning of this year, and wow it's so satisfying seeing them in a timelapse and seeing them slowly dry down..

My scanner for some reason has a really hard time picking neon colors up. They always end up as weardly washed out super light versions that sometimes look nothing like the actual color xD

the gray scale one was my favorite! i loved the technique you used to make them look see through

I have a white Glaze pen and I always thought they call is glaze because it looked like donut glaze-transparent when you lay it down and then turns opaque and shiny once it dries.

You should do a video were you compare different white pens. Like the video you did with black pens.

Okay, but the ducks in space were my favorite. The shape of the adults were especially pleasing. I do think it would have looked nice to use the earth tones of the feathers and then keep everything else metallic; but, even still, they're absolutely precious. (And mixing the sets wasn't the prompt, so there's that too.)

My favorite final piece was the ghosts! But they were all so cool!!! I would buy a print of each of them. I absolutely love the adorable & minimalistic quality of your art. Ive noticed in a couple videos you mention something, in reference to what you’re creating, that it’s a simple or easy illustration. But your ideas are always very original and creative and charming as heck! And it may seem simple to you, and may look simple to some people but it’s really not that easy to create something with so much personality and individuality. I just really enjoy seeing your creative process and this series where you try different mediums is my favorite series of yours. I seriously want to buy a print of each final piece. You should sell the final illustrations in sets of 3/4 (or however many you make in each video) I would definitely buy and I’m sure I’m not the only one ! Anyway lol sorry for such a long comment but I guess this is just my long winded attempt to tell you that you & your art are awesome!! Also PS I would die for a coloring book from you!!

If you would like to get a nice flat color with gel pens, use a paint brush with small amount of water and smooth out the strickiness. Also you can create with that technique gradients too. :)
