St Anger is far from perfect but there are some cool songs and entertaining sections scattered throughout. Definitely doesn't deserve as much hate as it gets in my opinion. The unnamed feeling, Frantic and parts of St Anger are solid. And for me Puppets is easily number 1 followed closely by Ride the Lightning.

Kill em all is my absolute favorite. Amazing guitar solos from both dave(he didnt played them on studio but he wroted them) and kirk and the sound is so raw. Pure agressive thrash metal spirit from good old metallica.

11. Lulu (Do I need to say anything about this album) 10. St. Anger (Really underrated I actually started to like how raw and heavy it is) 9. ReLoad (This album is still pretty good but I agree Load is definitely stronger. But this still has Fuel, The Memory Remains, Bad Seed, And Fixxxer, and Prince Charming which is kind of underrated.) 8. Load ( This album is absolutely amazing I have grown to really like this one a lot. Best songs are House Jack Built, Until It Sleeps, King Nothing, Bleeding Me, Mama Said, and The Outlaw Torn) 7. The Black Album (This album is also really good, I think Enter Sandman does get played way too much. But agreed Sad But True, Holier Than Thou, Through The Never, Of Wolf And Man, and The Struggle Within are the best songs) 6. Death Magnetic ( I absolutely love this album. This album proves that they can still kick ass and I love pretty much every song on this album) 5. Hardwired...To Self Destruct (This is a really good follow up to Death Magnetic I agree that Hardwired, Moth Into Flame, Here Comes Revenge, Spit Out The Bone are all fantastic songs 4. ...And Justice For All (I think this has Lars' best drumming and love Blackened, One, The Shortest Straw, The Frayed Ends Of Sanity, To Live Is To Die, and Dyer's Eve.) 3. Kill 'Em All (A classic album with some great songs such as The Four Horsemen, Jump In The Fire, Whiplash, No Remorse, Seek & Destroy, Metal Militia) 2. Master Of Puppets (I can listen to this album in full any day and never get bored with it. Every song is outstanding) 1. Ride The Lightning (What a beast of an album. This was the album that got me into this band when I listened to Creeping Death for the first time. I absolutely love this album as well)

I had a friend back in high school that considered St Anger as one of their best albums. Odd thing is that he understood why it was bad but he loved it. Hopefully his mind changed by now.

Very similar to how I would rank! Except I never got into their new albums. But Ride the Lightening is #1 for me (and btw I also love Escape), and as you said - perfect balance between the raw thrashy sound, and melody and interesting unique song writing. Then I also absolutely adore Kill em all for it's pure rawness, it's a complete release of energy. Obviously the four first ones are in a class of its own (and I have a hard time ranking them), even though the album I first listened to was Reload, and I definitely appreciate those three mid section albums too (Black album, Load, Reload). Metallica was the band that really got me into metal, they were my fav band for years, and my first real concert experience (2004 in Gothenburg, Sweden). Absolute legends. Thank you for the video!

With Load and Reload, I had a hard time getting into them for years. Then one day I decided I was going to listen to them and try to pretend I wasn't listening to a Metallica album. Eventually, I came to enjoy Load but still couldn't fully get into Reload with the exception of a handful of songs. I think your assessment of those two albums is right on the money.

I'M A METAL GOD I love every album that Metallica ever did ? Why because think about if they didn't event Metal to us we wouldn't have the kick ass music we need today !

Death Magnetic!!!!!!!!!!! That's my favourite Metallica album!!!!! Since last 5 months. I know that production SUCKS, but I JUST LOVE love this album. I adore ALL songs

Because I never overplayed and forced to not overdue it, I have a healthy amount of respect for self-titled and Enter Sandman. So many memories of that song, from it's video to it being the entrance for god knows how many wrestlers and hype for shows. It really is the quintessential class of what American metal, culture and lifestyle is to a tee, coming from an outsider. Not only that but the guitar riff, tone and especially the solo and rhythm is probably the darkest they ever sounded ironically idk. Some of it is filler but some songs are prominent for having this big almost doom-esque riffs be the spine for them eg aforementioned, Of Wolf And Man, Wherever I May Roam, My Friend In Misery.

I haven't listened to Metallica for ages... Too much good new stuff every week... I got into Ride the Lightning first, and it will always be my favorite. I never got into Kill em all because it is just so different in style. When I first heard it I could not believe it was the same band as Ride the Lightning.

1.Kill Em All- One of the best debut albums. I love the aggression and the production. It fits so perfectly with this album. 2.Ride The Lightning- this album is so amazing and the artwork is the best THat they have done 3.Master Of Puppets-so many good songs but maybe a bit low for some people 4.And justice for all-the riffs and production is amazing 5.Metallica(Black Album)-killer 6.Death Magnetic- I think this is their comeback 7.Load-this album is pretty overlooked imo. It is killer. 8.Hardwired to self Destruct- it’s ok but I don’t love it 9.Reload- a lot of filler but it has some good stuff on it. 10.St.Anger-not a terrible album like people act like it is 11.Lu Lu-this album makes st anger sound like rust in peace.

Here's my list and with explanations so this comment will get pretty long. Sorry lol... 10. St Anger- Obvious reason is the snare sound BUT, that album has grown on me and the snare actually start to sound somewhat decent for the time period they were going through. Great riffs and songs though. 9. Reload- Just pretty much Load part 2. Not enough songs that I really listen to much other than fuel, memory remains and unforgiven 2. Not a bad album, just not enough songs that I personally listen too. 8. Load- To be honest, I actually been listening to this album a lot lately and has grown on me more. Ain't my bitch, 2×4, Until it sleeps, hero of the day, thorn within, king nothing are great songs plus outlaw torn but there are better Metallica albums than this but still love this one. 7. Kill em All- I'm sorry to put this album at no. 7 but to be honest, this is probably one of the least listened album from Metallica. As much as I appreciate this album and their history, metallica during this era was still had some dave mustaine influences and didn't really had Kirk's own material due to mostly dave had written most of those parts from kill em all. No disrespect to the OG Metallica fans that grew up with this album. 6. Hardwired to Self Destruct- Even though I love the title track, atlas rise, moth into flames, halo on fire, spit out the bone, this is gonna be no. 6 on the list because at this point in the list, I'm narrowing down to the more awesome records. 5. "Metallica" (TBA)- what more can i say about this album, not that much songs I listen to from this record but it's still a great record and great songs to listen too. 4. Death Magnetic- I really love this album. PERIOD. 3. Ride the Lightning- "Wheres ride the lightning". Although even no. 3 on the list, I love that album cover. That would be no. 1 on the best Metallica album cover for me. 2. And Justice for All- I love this album too. 1. Master of Puppets- I know its cliche and obvious this would be no. 1 but the truth is, all these songs on that record is 100% solid AF and absolutely no filler songs whatsoever. Even leper messiah is pretty damn good and of course my favorite Metallica song, ORION is on this record. I'm not kidding when I say that when I see orion show up on my next song on my spotify playlist, I have to listen to it. No exceptions.

I love James Hetfield's vocals on here. It's so soothing for the ears.
