+BBPhotography2012 its the track...that is also playing .... so he just slows down his timing slightly on the kicks or so im guessing.... i mess around with drums time to time when plugged into mp3 player ill have it tripple sound like that very fun... and awesome sound. ........... he is playing the same notes just adding basically an extra ....and or leaving one out so it has that tripple quad sound...
+Richie Griswold He sucks now. He's even admitted that he doesn't practice anymore. He also cant play double bass worth a shit anymore and every other measure has some cheesy fill in it. But he used to be amazing
Epic. Always loved that fill at 1:24. You should help Lars train for tours. How long do you think it would take to get him to play like this? Although in his defense the drums on Blackened were heavily spliced and pieced together, he could never actually play like this to my understanding even in 1988.
Man, Blackened is may favorite song by Metallica. Therefore I've searched and seen hundreds of covers of it. Your cover is in my top 3 for sure if it's not the best one! Perfect job! Keep up the good work.
With enough takes in the studio, anyone can write a drum track like this. Not everyone, including Lars, can play it live in one take. Lars is shit to see live, but is still alright in the studio. Not as good as he used to be.
+Øliver Jaymz no, that's not what you say, you say that he was only good in studio and can't make this song in one take...something completely ignorant cause this song has been played live many times...i know he sucks now, but you and the other "wise ass" kiddos should think twice before came and write non sense garbage
jgvv It's been played live multiple times. That part is true. I watched the Live Shit: Seattle '89 show. It was played in a very acceptable manner. Exceptional. That was Lars' prime. What I'm trying to say right now is that he admits to not practicing, and if he tried to play this drum track live, it'd be more complicated for him, and he would be a lot worse at playing it. Also, into the studio, he goes through countless takes to get one good track. Especially on the Justice record.
damn bro...I'm checking out your videos...how are you not playing professionally???...I'm speechless..that's the BEST cover I've ever seen..you shred dude...your footwork is impeccable..the flow is awesome..
I came across one your videos and been hooked since. Absolutely incredible drumming man and your kit sounds amazing as well. I learned a few tricks by watching you. Thanks for posting your videos and jam on brother. Much respect to you

This was originally my absolute favorite album by metallica and when I got into drums I wanted to do shortest straw the most cause it seems like a lot of fun, now Ima play the whole album!!
As we would say here in Galway, this really is SAVAGE..! Have it on full tilt blasting through the HiFi speakers.. Its rattling the windows..! Loveeeeeeee it! Some serious talent :)
list of original opinions that no one has ever said ever: -lars bad -old lars good -peak lars you're all funny and original but for reals I don't think i need to say that this drumming is beyond godly
Well, now i know who to call when i need a drummer... ;) Awesome work man, really killed it! After this, one of my favorite covers you've done is The Frayed Ends Of Sanity, really killed that one as well! Keep up the good work! \m/
