❤️❤️❤️React to Indian Classical songs Aruna Kirani or Kanada Raja Padharicha both are sung by Mahesh Kale. Thank me later. Love, health and happiness to you and your loved ones from India. ❤️❤️❤️
Lee Arron You Got To Be The One. She's like a female Dio. A female metal pioneer who was big in Canada and sadly unknown due to being on a shitty label and being female in metal in the early 80s. ✌❤🇨🇦
Must do Moscow concert in 1991. Political significance. One of the best live videos. You will NOT be disappointed. Allows You to SEE and FEEL the energy of this song at that show.
One of the greatest videos I have ever seen is Metallica in Moscow singing this song in front of over 1 million people in 1991, right after the fall of the Soviet Union, as they had basically banned Rock music during the Cold War as western propaganda. A MUST watch! (How did that work out?😄) Many western musicians, such as Paul McCartney famously singing Back in the USSR, also played in Russia in the 1990's 🎼💖 Then came former KGB agent Putin and we are now back in a Cold War with Russia, as Ukraine is in a hot war with the invaders🤬👹😡 Tragically, no western band, whether Rock, or Country, or Rap or Blues will be playing in Russia anytime soon, at least while Putin is in charge💔
IMO this song is the ultimate Metallica anthem, it always surprises me that there are a few people that have never heard this. Of course a new generation has since grown up and are discovering Metal for themselves, in no small part to watching reaction channels such as yours Maggie , keep up the good work and love your reactions.
Same here, I keep forgetting that kids haven't had real music, especially on the wireless, especially rock and roll on the wireless, for around 20-25 years.
Another great Metallica reaction Maggie. We've turned you into a Metal head! I am so glad I kicked Metallica off with ONE last summer. I knew you would love their music. Looking forward to the live tomorrow!
@@maggiereneemusic told ya in my comment on your "One" reaction that I'd check out this one after work. What I am about to say here actually ties in with my comment there! So, after the video for "One" caused some of their fans to say they sold out, this was the first track off their next full-length album. They put this video out, and as much as this song "rocks" it was not the thrash metal album most of their fans wanted...and it had TWO ballads?!?! (So not metal, dude...) So this album (known as the black album) was a big shift. Many of the fans through the 1980s were writing them off, but at the same time... the mainstream attention exploded and a whole new generation of fans were excited. This song and album made them the huge following they have today 40+ years since they started.

I can't believe you've never heard of "The Sandman". He's a very old mythical creature that has been depicted as both evil and good, but is actually more neutral than anything. He started off as an old wives tale as the one responsible for putting you to sleep and taking you to the land of dreams. From there, what you dream is no longer part of his job/powers. I'm also surprised you don't recognize that old Christian prayer used. "Now I lay me down to sleep" has been a Christian bedtime prayer for generations. James has been the lead singer of Metallica since day one and continues to be the lead singer to this day. They also have kept the same drummer and lead guitarist (at least since their first album after kicking Dave Mustane out before they started to tour). The bassist has changed a few times due to unfortunate reasons. :(
The Sandman isn't about nightmares. He's a character that helps children fall asleep. This song however is about nightmares but the Sandman specifically is just about falling asleep.
You MUST watch the live Moscow video!! EPIC!!! Also, for all us Yankees fans, the phenomenal Mariano Rivera, the epic closing pitcher, would just totally relax throughout the game until he was needed. This song would play as he came in because he SHUT DOWN games. Still miss Rivera & Jeter!!
If you wish a more lullaby version with also haunted vocals in a exit light cellar react The Warning and Alessia Cara version, please.. Maybe we see Shooketh face?
You should do a reaction of Enter Sandman... Live from Moscow 1991.There were 1.6 million people attending. It was done not long after the fall of Soviet Union. Its like a huge celebration party.😅 Watching it sends you off the charts into a roller coaster of emotion. Energy from video sucks into your soul and put you into orbit.
this official version is great but believe it or not enter sandman live moscow 91 version is 10 times better with an audience of 1.7 million lucky people
Now you should check out The Warning's version. ( 3 sisters from Mexico). They did it about 7 years ago when they were little kids. 23 million views on RU-vid. Then they did it again with Alessia Cara a couple years ago for Metallica's Blacklist album.
@@maggiereneemusic hey no worries. Of course I'll be there. Music is my life, as it for sure is yours. My eldest daughter is kinda covered in band tattoos, myself and her mum didn't want her too, but she a chip of the old block. My kids have a massive diverse music taste as should everyone. I listen to metal of course, I'm a kid of the 80s, tears for fears are one of my favourite bands. Soundgarden and Chris Cornell are basically god to me. I listen to Bizet and Paganini. I love the Barber of Seville by Rossini. All you need is a open mind...🙌🙏
die hard Metallica fan been since I was 13 you should try the warnings cover from 2014 they're 3 sisters age 14 12 and 9 at that time and you should try their remake of this song from 2021 keep on head banging 🤘🤘🤘
Metallica and weird videos... I wouldn't call them weird, but definitely not cookie-cutter! They've never been afraid to hunt around for people with the imagination to paint the story they're singing in a given song and some of them are really avante-garde but in an enjoyable way. 'Until it Sleeps' is a frickin' work of art, they basically created a horror movie for 'All Nightmare Long', went hard to the B-movie style post-apocalyptic feel for 'Spit Out The Bone'.... they're all different, all unique. EDIT: And some of them purposely tell a different story from the song itself to create a mental connection between two topics. 'The Day That Never Comes'.
You're amazing. You make me so happy. Thank you. Great song and a suuuuper dope reaction to one of the most fun Metallica songs. Can't wait to see you dive deeper🤘🤘🤘 FYI I did check out your performance in NY and you are absolutely phenomenal ❤❤❤❤🎤🎤🎤🎤
I had just started college when this album came out. By the end of college four years later I had worn out 3 or 4 cassette tapes of this album... Cassette tapes, remember those kiddies? rofl
Honestly this song is what got me into Metallica. Even though a majority of considered it the beginning of their "selling out" period. I much much much prefer their first few albums. Their new stuff. Meh, not so much. I'm a suckered for 1-2 minute instrumental intros.
Back then and still today I thought their best album was And justice for all. When the black album came out so many said it was a sell out album and song. I never understood that this song upon 1st hearing became their best, replacing Sanitarium and and justice and blackened. Just because a song has commercial success doesn't make it a sell out
@@LaseredIllumination the thing about Metallica that I appreciate the most is the depth of their lyrics. I have always cared more about the lyrics than the music but the great ones can combine them all And justice .....the inequalities of justice matching with socioeconomic Blackend ..... the horrors of nuclear war Welcome home Sanitarium - treatment od the mentality ill....but I think there is more a more poetic idea of what we would call gaslighting today or even what we do to ourselves Master of Puppets - the things and people that control us (even more on point today with SM and MSM) Fade to Black .......and the list goes on
I've always hated the the term "selling out" when it came to musicians. As if the people saying that have ever been presented with even a fraction of the money they had been. Worse, as if doing something for money is somehow wrong. Every single artist, big or small, has a choice whether they want to make their art accessible for others and by what means. Whether you are playing on street corners, performing on Broadway, making pictures for Universal or playing live in front of a million people, you have those pressures on you.
Funny thing about you mentioning him sounding like an opera singer. Back in the 90's he started to loose his voice and was forced to consult a voice coach... That also was an opera singer. 🤘
Dear M.R. my beautiful black belt musician, to watch you a "Juilliard Awarded & Trained Opera singer" To headbang with Enter Sandman, and find out the terror a child endures with bedtime sleep, is PRICELESS!! ABSOLUTELY PRICELESS. This video is old darling 20 years old easy, James the vocalist and front man, knows the stuff, his voice keeps rocking the metal out of our souls. We metalheads salute you in your metal journey. Keep strong ! Metal Forever to you darling.
Someone's probably already mentioned it, but the Sandman is from Scandinavian folklore. He sprinkles magical sand into the eyes of kids to help them sleep and inspire dreams. He's not supposed to be evil or anything, but yeah, Metallica put a twist to it. FYI, the phrase "you've got sleepers in your eye" (that grit when you wake up sometimes)--that's derived from the Sandman myth. 😉
The Sandman exists in Germany too. It’s even a show send on the a channel called KIKA, abbreviation for children channel every day at 6:50 pm as „Abendgruß“ basically a good night wish for the children to help them sleep.
I know a lot of Metallica pureists didn't like this song or this album when it came out. But this is a genuine all time classic song from and all time classic album.
Miss Maggie, you really need to see the Metallica 1991 Live from Moscow version of "Creeping Death". Nothing like a live performance before 1.6 million people. If you want the totally crazy energy of Metallica at their best, that is the one for you.
Oh yes Maggie...I really loved your reaction to the brilliant Enter Sandman by Metallica. You are a definite metalhead 👍🤘.. Looking forward to your next reaction. Peace and love from Liverpool UK 👍✌️🤘☮️
Thank you so, so much Maggie for another amazing reaction and a Hair flip. lol This is also the intro song for the Virginia Tech Football team. Just like yourself Lane Stadium rocks. Thank you again Maggie. Your a true talent inside and out. :-))

The first minute of you reacting is literally me when it first came out and I was 11 years old lol awesome, but like others have said, do another reaction to the live version from Moscow, 1.6 million people going insane. And you will appreciate the historic significance of that shiw
If you want to listen to an incredibly technical rock drummer, listen to “The Professor “, Neil Peart- Rush. Progressive rock. The drummers drummer. You won’t regret it. “Limelight”, Tom Sawyer “ or “Subdivisions”. Neil also writes the lyrics.
Hope other people compliment you outside of RU-vid Madame!! Stunning looking Woman .......It's those Raven locks Yes Simping but I was always told to say what I see, shows honesty 😉
Did you really go through your life not knowing Enter Sandman was with metallica??? how is that even possible!!!!,,, anyway enjoyed your video you have awesome energy
I had stopped listening to ‘hard’ rock in the 80’s/90’s because it just seemed like a bunch of screaming with no real musical talent apparent (don’t hate me, just a personal view) until I heard this song. I then discovered that metal had evolved into something even an old gezzer like me could enjoy again. So, I credit Enter Sandman with opening up this genre to me. Thanks for Reacting to it. Great song!
This song is about how parents would come in and read a "Bedtime" story to kids to settle them or if they were scared and end up telling tales with LOTS of nightmare fuel and make it worse. Or checking in the closet and under the bed for the kids, inadvertently making the closet and under the bed "Monster Houses". Revving that fear right up! Some would even tell kids if they got out of bed the "Boogie Man" would get 'em! James thought that was TWISTED.
It's crazy that I am 32, but my memory is very weird, I usually can't remember things that happened a week or two ago but I can remember a nightmare I used to have every night when I was about 3 years old. Maybe because I have had brain surgery 5 or 6 times.
Oh Cheese Muffins The Metallica Journey that you have too explore is emense (:. Oh the Pandora box you have just opened (: You will be Mind Blowned for sure (: You will see the deeper you go down there rabbit hole (:. Especially there older stuff you will lol (:
The song is about a child being abused. Hetfield has a way to make his lyrics have double meanings, but I'm pretty sure that it's about a child being abused...
An interesting video to watch of Enter Sandman is the Virginia Tech football team entrance. A few years ago against U. of Miami, the crowd reaction registered on a nearby Richter Scale recording.
The Sandman was NOT a figure of woe. He was litterally a kindly spirit who sent children off to sleep and guaranteed good dreams by sprikling his magical sleep sand in their eyes.
I met a couple of nice young ladies when I was in highschool who have somewhat similar personalities as you have. Still friends with those drama chorus dorks today 15 yrs later. Those Goofy bitches are cool as hell.
If you really like this song try out others from the black album as well - a great deal of time and polish went into that album. Some great songs there.
If u lived on the east coast in the late 90s early 2000 or r a baseball fan when Mariano Rivera came in as releif pitcher for the Yankees the game was over. This was the song played when he entered and they even played it live during a game. Also give a listen to "Fade to black"
