From that statement alone, we know this twit did not do the necessary research to comment on this fairly or credibly, but there's more to go on (insert possessive pronoun) lack of due diligence. The antisemitism accusation is understandable given the visuals shown, but context matters. The goose-stepping and sieg-heiling look bad, but I think that the goofy expression and representation of a finger-stache conveyed an element of mockery. The footage of Jason Newstead marching goofily was shot in Russia 25 years ago. Russians have historically opposed Nazism since they fought the Reich in WWII, so he was clearly poking fun (else he wanted to get stomped outside the venue. If Serena had done any real research, it would have shown that Metallica have played in Israel several times since the 90s. Axl said a lot of sgitty things about Metallica in the wake of thst tour. For what it's worth, Axl penned the disgusting Guns 'n' Roses song "One In A Million ", itself making use of the n- word (and many other slurs). I'm not some Metallica fanboy/apologist. (Quite honestly. I don't think they've made an album worth listening to since 1988 and find their career to be higely disappointing, overall.) I just think it is unfair to make accusations about them based on false, fallacious or out-of-context inferences, often from decades ago. The most disgusting thing about Cancel Culture is that it leaves no room for redemption or personal growth. That the person you were in your 20s is the same person you are in your 60s. Nothing you've done is redeemable and there's no way to grow as a person beyond what you once were. It's nothing but a power play, so don't buy into it--especially when it's perpetrated by people as stupid and/or lazy in research as this idiot.

I can't believe I'm apart of this generation, it's just so sad to see these people being unbelievably stupid. As a Metallica fanatic since 1996 I was wondering when cancel culture would catch up with them, especially Hetfield. I'm not ignorant, I've seen and heard multiple things from practically all Metallica members that could get them into trouble by today's ultra-unforgiving leftist standards - we all have. I was just watching an interview of Lars Ulrich the other day and he admitted rock stars aren't supposed to "grow up" implying their teenage adolescence is part of their character as a band, but I think they have done an excellent job allowing their maturity take over these past 20 years and you have to give them grace because of the effort they're putting forth. What this TikToKer has failed to understand in her very limited time as an adult is what comes around goes around. Metallica has certainly felt their fair share of backlash for various decisions they've made. When she needs grace she won't be given it. When she needs support she won't be given it. When she needs understanding she won't be given it. When her demons come out of her closet (and yes, we all have them) then it'll be her head on the chopping block with her ambitions destroyed. It's funny how symmetrical life can be, so she had better rethink her next move before it's too late.

She made pretty clear that anyone who holds certain political standards (conservative) are essentially racist because their affiliated political party apparently have "racist" policies - therefore they must be canceled. To her there is no tolerance. That's such an un-American mentality because America is supposed to uphold free speech, no matter how offensive it is. Leftists want to suppress dark humor, like Hetfield is guilty of. Now, I find tremendous offense at her accusation because I'm a conservative, but I refuse to acknowledge that I'm a racist because I know I'm not, yet people like her want me to unjustly feel guilt for something that doesn't apply to me. She has no authority to publically judge Hetfield, you or me because she has only walked a mile in her own shoes - not ours. However, I'm not going to call for her to be cancelled, but I will refuse to offer grace when she is exposed for her hypocrisy. No one is perfect and therefore cancel culture must end.
I'm surprised she had SOAD on her list right there, I am genuinely expecting a "your fav is problematic" video on SOAD at some point because of what the guy said (which, for context, the Wu Tang Clan gave 'em permission to say the word too, so even if she did try it would not work.)

For being an older band, it's actually insane how clean Metallicas record is. I can't think of a single thing that could maybe be reputationally damaging to the band

Regarding Axl Rose, and how much of a D-Bag he was, i love the fact that she never found the story about how he RECORDED him F-ing GnR drummer Stephen Adler's GF at one point, and then had the balls to put it underneath the guitar solo/breakdown of Rocket Queen. Adding insult to injury, if i remember hearing/reading about correctly, Adler didn't find out about this until they performed it live for the first time.

Also, I’m pretty sure Kerry King’s political views have most likely shifted over the decades since that photo was taken considering songs like ‘Pride In Prejudice’ exist. There was also that interview that he did with Noisey a few years back where Kerry denounced police brutality against black people.
I don't fucking care what my favorite bands have done, you can love music, you don't have to love the people making it. But even then, fuck cancel culture, it's just a culture that wants people to get on their knees and beg for forgiveness, they just want to feel superior, they want attention.

I'm Asian, FIlipino to be exact, Unless it's ever used in a mean, targeted, and hurtful way, I'm not personally offended by the word "oriental", I can sense if someone does it out of malice or to misrepresent in a harmful way. I hate how some people try to be the arbiters of morals and police content and words regardless of context/deep thinking. This reminds me of boomer giga-Christians/conservatives, now I'm seeing the same attitude on the opposite extreme spectrum.

Metallica didn’t want body count on tour with them if I remember correctly is they had a song called cop killer there management was concerned about tour backlash especially after the Rodney king riots
