imagine as a kid like 14 15 years in 1984 and hearing this for the first time

only metallica song i have real difficulty with nowadays, i have to say this helped a lot.

Great cover, my friend. Except for one little pet peeve I noticed in other covers. In the second riff before the verse where you played the F# chord twice, it's a slide from G down to F# rather than the F# twice. I've seen the tabs say that it's a double F#, but when I listen to the recording and watch this song played live, I see and hear the slides. In my opinion, the riff has less aggression and and feels kind of...naked, for lack of a better term without the slides. But other than that, an excellent cover. Great job on the solos, by the way. You earned yourself a subscription. \m/

I can't forget when I was 14 and just started playing guitar, my friend borrowed me the album and when I started playing it, my dad asked me something like "so you've started listening to guitar music... " he didn't know what was yet to come within 30sec...

This seems the be the most popular cover of this track. I’m not a musician, I don’t have a professional ear or anything, and the majority of this track is great. But the riff before the verse kicks in (the pre verse riff?), which is my favourite part of the track...just seems off, sounds nothing like the original. If I’m wrong let me know, but it just seems completely off.

What I've always loved about Metallica solos, especially this one in particular, is that the rhythm guitar knows how to back off and let the solo have the spotlight if you will. Simple chord galloping acting as the backbone, adding thickness and power to this crazy, melodic solo. Metallica has understood the formula to a great solo since the beginning and they fucking nail it perfectly each time.
