Man Lars' drum sound and nuances on this album and MoP are great. Sounds like a self taught kid who plays out of passion, not fully mastering the instrument or learning the rudiments but going into the studio with damn confidence in the material and laying down some of the most iconic songs in metal. Punk af. Sound is huge too.
That's why I actually really like Lars. He's very passionate about his music and he fits the song. Of course he's lack luster when it comes to flashy techniques and fills, but he writes excellent pieces of music and is a pioneer when it comes to a drummer's approach to composing the songs themselves. He sits down and takes the time to discuss how the song will progress and discuss ideas for Kirk and cliff/jason/rob. I think that's why you can't replace him.
@@marksommerville5857a bass is not a guitar tho, they're just in the same group. Same thing with a viola and a violin, or a violin with a cello. They are in the same shape, same group. But completely different. They share the same shapes and organization because for the type of instrument they are, these were through history the most practical. You won't want your bass shaped like the insides of a piano for u to pluck each string while holding down a plastic brick bc its illogical. Its a cordophone, so its shaped like one
Make his fight on the hill in the early day Constant chill deep inside Shouting gun, on they run through the endless grey On the fight, for they are right, yes, by who's to say? For a hill men would kill, why? They do not know Stiffened wounds test there their pride Men of five, still alive through the raging glow Gone insane from the pain that they surely know For whom the bell tolls Time marches on For whom the bell tolls Take a look to the sky just before you die It is the last time you will Blackened roar massive roar fills the crumbling sky Shattered goal fills his soul with a ruthless cry Stranger now, are his eyes, to this mystery He hears the silence so loud Crack of dawn, all is gone except the will to be Now they see what will be, blinded eyes to see For whom the bell tolls Time marches on For whom the bell tolls
@Cthulhu make you Insane! Nope! If you have once jammed to one of RTL songs you are able to notice that the songs aren't in 440hz standard tuning, instead there are some songs tuned to 445hz, even 450hz as i remember. So, all songs are a little higher in tuning. But why i explained all of that? Well, the slight change in tuning is due to them speeding up the tracks by a slight bit. I don't know if that was on purpose, but slowed or not, both versions kick ass!
ThEUnnaMeDWoLF I wouldn't say that. he was a great bass player and I am just letting you know that he is dead so it's kinda weird to say he IS the best
This was my favorite song to play when I played bass, I just love how he owns this.song. think how awesome Metallica would of been of cliff burton never died
Abraham Blanco Because he made his Bass sound like guitar. They don't necessarily mean that he's the best GUITAR player. It's just a little compliment to his bass playing style. The intro to this song is a great example.
