What are you talking about, Lars is amazing, the double bass, the speed, the volume, that's what you want in a drummer!! Don't just say Lars sucks because every troll on the internet said so.
I don't know what all you guys are complaining about. I saw the death magnetic tour and it was loud as shit. Lars can still play as loud and fierce as he did.
I love almost all of this but I fuckin hate how during this period they perposefully played Four horsemen as slow as fuckin possible. Like why? It sounds horrible at this speed
Ah, the 90's Metallica: when Jaymz was rude to the audience and they were "ashamed" of playing their classic old stuff from "Kill" and "Ride". This medley just does a disservice to the songs that it includes. This is only worth anything because Jaymz still had a voice, the guitars had that unmistakable crunch and Lars still could play the drums with unbridled ferocity.
i think james thought kill/ride was too extreme for tla normie mainstream audience who started followimg mwtallica after the black album not really ashamed lol.
@@shred9475 Fair argument, however, I think they just like to jam and play around with things as they warm up and in jam rooms. So they figured they just want to play around with those songs. A band gets tired of playing the same songs anyway, however, sometimes in contacts I believe they are obligated to play certain songs, or they just love doing it.
@@shred9475 If you ever listened to a band called Destroyer 666, see a live video of the song I am the Wargod, seeing everyone in the crowd yell I am the Wargod must be a rush like no other, or seeing everyone yell Die in the middle of Creeping Death, it must be incredible
Is this where I tell you how many times I have seen them live over the last 25yrs? Metallica are a live band, always have been but their guitars have been bad for some time. This latest Through the Never show was different, they stepped it up and sounded much much better.
The Load era sucked because most songs on Load and Reload are lifeless generic Hard Rock/Heavy Metal to try and repeat the Black Album's massive success by taking it one step further...didn't exactly work. Give the first 5 albums a good listen and tell me sincerely that the Lyrics, the Solos, The Drumming and the complexity of the songs weren't way better and way more creative
Honestly, yes they were shorter, but some of those songs during this era are actually more technical to play on the guitar than some of the earlier stuff.
