A man who found peace. The odds were stacked against him, but he found it. Gotta admire that.

I dont like to have role models, but James is the only one that makes me have sort of one. With his wins and losses. I mean how you cant like the dude here in this interview, he is freaking kind and pleasant and honest. Just like I met him back in '98.

Man I was sitting in 106 and let me tell you avenged sevenfold is my favorite band but fucking Metallica was unreal. The effects, the stage presence, and the way the audience was behind them it was amazing. I've never heard a crowd that loud, the floor shook when they started master of puppets. Totally worth the 300 dollars I spent

Great interview with James! I was at that gig and it was my 9th time seeing them and 4th decade to have been blessed to see them. Saw them 4 times in the 80's, 3 times in the 90's, 1time 00's and 1 time in the 10's. Fun fact I met James and Lars in 1984 in my old neighborhood in Chicago known as West Ridge. They were so chill and asked if we had any booze or drugs. We had both so we drank a 5th of vodka and smoked some pot with them. They asked if we were going to be at the show and we were. Great experience. Saw them again after the show at the Aaragon Ballroom. Super chill dudes.

I'm born and raised in Chicago in 1965 and I was hardcore Metallica when they FIRST came out and when I bought Kill em All it was on vinyl and not nostalgia motivated. C.D.s where around but it took a while for them to eliminate albums and I got sober 16 years ago myself and it's cool to see the success Aerosmith, Steve Tyler and Elton John, and the greatest guitarist to ever live old Slow hand Eric Clapton has had after getting sober.

Metallica stepped up their game since Minneapolis I saw hen at Chicago and Minneapolis. Their performance at Chicago was better but the setlist at Minneapolis was better

He didn't mention Ghost since he mentioned going for 70-80's sound or what bands he likes to tour with that makes good music and are good people :( Already back in 2011 during the Big 4 in Gotheburg he was rocking a Ghost shirt at spoke well of them, even been to some of their shows, there's was video of him in the crowd enjoying Year Zero feeling the drums on Cirice and another attempting at playing Cirice in the tuning room ;)
