@@michahojwa8132I do some somewhat agree on that. I think the original character designs were better (initial reveal back when it was still called Project Refantasy)
The characters look as generic as U would expect and the graphics and performance are quite lackluster however the story seems good and world and premise are quite intriguing.
Erm, not sure about the anime cutscenes, u and fairy are running away from worm monsters, sticking out their tentacles mouth just behind your back, , expecting an imminent battle, but abruptly the anime cutscene change and you reached the capital gates. 😅 How u guys explain this is GOTY?
the demo is more than 3 to 4 hours theres over an hour of cutscenes and everyone assumes the demo is over when you get the message about the last 3 days but theres a whole side dungeon besides the main oneyou can play before the end
I’m 25 hours in just keep grinding my team up in the dungeon by using the mage to gain back MP in combat best demo ever so happy we can transfer over our progression
As much as I love Dragon Ball, and I'm super excited for sparking zero as an old school tenkaichi fan, I'm going to have to allow Metaphor Refantazio to skip the line on this one lol I'm just a bit more excited for Metaphor right now.
@@Lentum Exactly, I didn't even realize it until recently. It's all good though. I'm gonna get sparking zero for sure, but Metaphor is my top priority after playing the demo.
The demo alone was worth more than some paid games i have in my library. Haven't bought a game brand new in forever, but Metaphor might be breaking that trend.
@@TwinGearHero What about it being better than some paid games I have? Off the top of my head Mighty No. 9 and Everybody's Gone to Rapture. Two games in my library that should be worth less than this demo.
@@TwinGearHero Hes right. This demo killed my desire to play other games I own. Hell it made me boot up Persona 4 Golden just to get a taste of what's to come. Like trying to replace crack with pre-workout
IMHO the only reason to not buy it is that Atlus will release Metaphor: Re-Ultra-fantazio Director's cuts in like 4 years and you will need to pay another $70 for it (Edited: so people in the replies know this is only my opinion)
I mean… 4 years…. I don’t regret playing persona 5 when it came out and I didn’t regret playing p5 royal. Don’t really see a problem with getting a directors cut. It just means they wanted to make the game better.
@@MonsterhunterFTWWTF yeah but they could just sell it as a dlc/expasion at a reduce price like every other company. I am not against more content, I'm just against not being able to upgrade from vanilla to the definitive if you already own the game.
That is my birthday as well, but i can't get it this year. I made the resolution to wait at least a year after release to buy the game so there is price drop on bundles and problems patched.
It really isn't worth getting all of those digital books. You are only buying license to access the game and the DLC, so if the game disappears, all of those extras do as well.
@@maroeful The goblin/minotaur dungeon. When you get to your free days after escaping the mines. The “shady woman” who owns that shop, named Cereza gives the mission when you level up your wisdom to rank 2.
The Demo made me want to buy it at day one. Usually i wait for discounts, but the Demo was actually that convincing. Last full price game was Borderlands 3 and divine force :o
I’m on a 4080 and sadly I can’t do 4k with this game it black screens every time I move charector 1440 p works but my performance isn’t the best hopefully they can patch it because after finishing the demo I’m hooked once again
I don't need to know anything more after playing the massive free demo on psn! The level of quality that is on display here is jaw dropping! Beautiful, sharp graphics mixed with amazing anime cut-scenes. A very cool battle system combined with a stylish presentation make this game really stand out. The writing and voice acting is also exemplary. As is the music! I had no intention of playing this. But I downloaded the demo on a whim and it blew me away! If game devs were smart they'd make more demos! I've bought so many games after playing demos. I was originally planning on playing the Until Dawn remake but Sony screwed up yet again. They took what was supposed to be a dark and spooky horror game and kicked the brightness to 11 for some insane reason. It should be called Well After Dawn now! Anyhow, don't miss Metaphor, it really is something special imo!
Been a huge fan of Dragon ball since forever and I know the game will be great. But I'm sorry, I'm 110% going with Metaphor ReFantazio on day one. I'm trying to rush through Trails through Daybreak just so I can be ready for it in time.
Was going to get it but I’m in a weird position because it’s not available on Xbox One where I shamefully play my JRPG’s due to the free cloud saves and heavy discounts/gamepass. I’ll keep my eye out for the PS5 collectors edition because if it’s like the P3R Aigis Edition it will see a significant discount after initial launch. Enjoyed the demo though.
You mean before you spend your $165?😂 - I love the demo and I got played it twice. And yeah I was already hype to play the game as a huge Persona fan and when I played the demo I fell in love even more with the game. - My only critique for the game is that the vinyl soundtrack is most likely an IAM8Bit exclusive and they suck - I didn’t have any issues with frame rate or any other technical issues that others have face, while playing on PS5 and on my older tv(2018/19).
I'm already level 32 in the demo and have 99 leaf's. I think the game is a buy for me. 🤣 I don't like Persona because of the whole school thing but this game is has a lot of fighting and that's what I like.
People are really understating the amount of combat there is in this game. Persona felt like a 50/50 split, while this game feels more like a 70/30 or 75/25 split in favor of the dungeon crawling
I think Persona would have been T if it didn’t have Mara, suicide, and less risqué female personas. This game is proper bloody, way more than persona tbh
It's basically persona, in a different setting. Sure there are a few tweeks but yes, you will awaken your persona, there a velvet room... Idk, I am kinda turning away from transforming to something a 3rd grader drew and delivering spells. I just want my charectors to remain themselves, use some magic or something. I know it sounds like a nitpick, but I can't shake that feeling given so much is just like persona. This is just after playing the demo. This could have been persona 6. I was hoping for something to distinguish it from the others. Sure there are minor tweeks that are different but at least something core that was more unique
Agreed. When core mechanics go from game to game even in new ip’s, it’s started being a little bit disappointing. There are not enough changes and innovations to make the game feel like a breath of fresh air. It’s not bad, but actually I'm tired of seeing the same gameplay, even if the setting is completely different. And many people say that the plot has become more mature, but when I see PEGI 16 (not rating “R”)I understand that the game is also designed for teenagers, same as persona series.
I guess this is how I felt with "Fairize" in Fairy Fencer F, which were basically Neptunia transformations but in a fantasy universe. That said, I found the combat far more engaging in Metaphor than even P5R.
@@damgful4 years is a long time mate… no spoilers and being able to experience a very good game with no preconceptions is a rare feeling I get to have nowadays. Also 70 bucks for a game that took 8 years to develop isn’t much when I can tell based on the demo that it’ll be a long and enjoyable adventure for 90-100+ hours
2 things you need to know: 1. It's better than Persona 2. It will likely get a definitive rerelease in a few years' time There, hope I could save you [arbitrary vid length for ad rev] minutes
Also the translation really sucks. I really recommend playing with japanese voices as it is set by default so you get the real meaning in important cutscenes.
btw the PS5 colletors is back in stock in Amazon (and the Xbox version never sold out like it was mentioned in the video) in case you can cancel the scalper order and have a PS5 or Xbox
I'll just need to remind everyone that Metaphor will sell worse on Xbox but better on PS5 and PC. Microsoft should just get out of Japan and leave Japanese developers alone.
No Stellar Blade and Dragon Quest 3 remake got censorship this game like just has some gay localizers doing the translation we still don’t have definitive evidence they censored any of the text because the game isn’t out yet and i played the demo on series X didn’t see anything
If you have the money to buy this game and you don’t because “it’s too expensive” then you don’t really care about good games you just care about money.
More click-bait garbage. Sucks for you that there are TONS of browser add-ons (some installed by default) now that block you from getting clicks/views/ad-revenue & positive engagement :)
@qphehqohaaa1458 it’s actually worth the 70 dollars to be honest I rather get this game and get my money’s worth then to pay 70 dollars on a game that I’m going to finish in a week and never play it again until new DLC just saying tho cuz I know for a fact that this game is worth the 70 dollars in my book but that’s just me🤷
The game does turn based combat pretty well, the transition from real time to turn based combat is pretty well done and the pacing makes the turns feel pretty fluid. I recommend trying the demo before writing it off. If there was ever a turn based game I'd recommend to someone who hates turn based games, this would be it.
@@Lowtan god people like you are annoying. It’s a DIFFERENT taste of games. Not bad. Let me ask you a question.. what type of game do you not like?? Doesn’t matter your taste is bad
