One of the places I didn't have the time to get to when I was in Greece. The landscape around the monastery is otherworldly. The monastery itself is amazing. I really want to know how long it took to build it.

Wow such a majestic place in Greece. Where is this located within Greece? How far away is it from a major city for reference? And were those cable cars to go up the mountain?

Meteora is located in the middle part of Greece, roughly between Athens and Thessaloniki. The cable car serves only the monks in the monastery, it is not for visitors.
