Hi Topher I just wanted to add some input. Taenite is usually darker due to the higher nickel content then the Kamacite. Troilite tends to border the two and needle like inclusions look like shriebersite. As far as quartz goes. Meteorites can have impact related quartz features such as pink quartz. Also Calcite can fill in cracks and voids on a weathered meteorite and be mistaken for quartz. Also a key note would be if a rock has Olivine then it will not have Quartz. No specimens on earth have both Olivine and Quartz. So if you can confirm 1 of the 2 the other is ruled out. There are a lot of blunt statements that are generalizations but not true all of the time. For instance there was an iron meteorite recently found that is not magnetic in the U.S. Yet even the most recognized meteoritic scientist will still say if you see exposed metal and its not magnetic its not a meteorite. Meteorites fall everywhere so depending on the environment in which it fell will play a huge roll on how a meteorite will terresteralize. Eventually a meteorite will look like an earth rock or disintegrate Any fact checking on my part would be appreciated. Love the videos man. Thank you! James

I don't mind getting long comments like this. I just need to validate them scientifically before I comment in agreement. I unfortunately had a live sale this weekend and that's been occupying my time. I don't think I'll be able to research and comment on your comment in detail. Hopefully my Knowledgeable Bolide will look at it and be able to help out..

Awesome beginning video... it's funny bc the majority are meteor wrongs but I'd love to know the % of the people who did in fact find a nice meteorite. I love your channel and I found one myself in 2019 and its an iron and it's beautiful and an investment for me. It's full, complete regmalyphs abundant full fusion crust and more than a kilo....its my baby, I loved rocks before I found this and was only found bc my love of minerals and I found a gorgeous meteorite in one of the last states in the last three states in the UNITED STATES to find one. TOPHER ITS GORGEOUS and I want to show you but dont know how!! When I actually have something with your time! Love your channel by the way
