Whoever pulled Sheff G & Sleepy Hallow off the line-up, it's going to make their reputation stained (not that it was already stained enough). And what Method Man said is true. Imagine the fans in 2024 who were there to see that Mr. Cee tribute & NOT EVEN THAT shook the room. Them, Big Daddy Kane, Jadakiss, THE GOD RAKIM performed there for crying out loud! They got to pull the plug on these concerts until they get their shit together.
Having Sexy Red on the same line up as Method and Redman is pretty insane but she’s not gonna be around too long cause pretty soon people are gonna get tired of her ratchet antics and your right about Kendrick you would think they would try to get him on the show after the beef with Drake
I agree 💯 there's no more star power at all!!! And i don't blame Method Man not one bit!!!(He and all the other hip hop legends don't have to prove themselves anymore) back then we used to get excited to see our favorite rappers/MC's back in the 90s and Early 2000s Now everything including the Summer Jam is just straight doo doo.👎🏾🤬🤡
I disagree with the commentary on this video. Real hip hop is underground non mumble rappers are still winning. Nas and Wu did huge stadium and arena's last year - like 25, sold out in North America. 50 and Busta did a big one too. J Cole stays touring as do plenty of others. The Roots picnic event must have had 150,000 people attend last weekend. Independent artists like Coast Contra, Joey Badass are doing venue halls. It's the drill scene that's starting to die off and the major mumble rappers are being outgrown by their fanbases. Hot97 is getting what it deserves as it disrespected NY hiphop for years and now it's in trouble. The 'pop rappers' are done, bars are back in fashion now.
You basically agree with me I said only top 5 streaming artists & legends are selling out venues … all the people you named Nas,The Roots, 50 & Busta who I seen last year are legends
@@frankiediamondstvOkay cool. You should listen to Coast Contra - Ayo, it speaks on the hip hop in trouble situation. Me personally, I think that the pop rappers and drillers need to disappear. Hip hop won't die, it will just go back underground and allow the talented creative artists to organically emerge. The major record labels are losing control and manipulated charts don't reflect the music scene.
