Methods Of Dance (1980) ~Japan~ Written:Sylvian Lyrics:Sylvian Asa Young : Drums Japan Drum Cover / Still Life In Mobile Homes • Still Life In Mobile H... Facebook Pages / asayoung.japan
Steve Jansen had a unique style, playing behind the beat then in front of it. mix that in with Mick Karn's Bass and you get a wonderful sound that was Japan.
This is my favourite japan song and admired steve jsnsen so much as a drummer. And everytime i see this cover man asa you really are a top drummer. Anychance if you would do the art of parties the live version from the oil on canvas video please
Steve's drumming is an artform in itself. Me as a drummer managed to copy most of his structures and you my man are a great artist. Loving it. Greetings from Holland.
Just found this while looking for live concert version. Absolutely incredible playing by Asa. Just captured Steve Jansen’s perfect timing, groove and dynamics, and made it his own. I am amazed.
Fantastic, amazing I'm in awe and I agree, these gusy where very special and I miss it sooooo muchand Asa you are fantastic. In my mind the most innovating band of the 80s. Dont forget the song Black water by Rain Tree Crow.
I’m sure plenty of others have said it, but the dancing girl was COMPLETELY unnecessary and distracting. I came here to watch a professional at work, and you absolutely did NOT disappoint! Fantastic sir!
Was always & still am a huge fan of Steve's approach & style to drumming combine that with a one in a million , the late great , Mick Karn on fretless bass guitar & you have a very unique & unusual style coming out of the rythm section of the band & Japan are still ahead of their time, even with today's standards... Grear cover of one unique engine room that was the rythm section of " Japan " .....
Correct. There's nothing wrong with the girl, she's attractive and all, but it didn't fit the format of a drum tutorial. The incongruity is off-putting.
