Wish I'd never sold my metro 6r4 unstarted project. I had the audi 2.6 v6 inline engine for mine. I'd beef your frame up alot more.. Looks a good start 👍🏻
Love this :) i have heard so people using a Discovery 3/4 manual gearbox with the ford V6 and then flipping diffs to get the right rotation. but it all sounds heavy
Thanks for that info and definitely sounds plausible, prob bit heavy but definitely I'll look into as want keep options open, at moment thinking setting up just rear wheel drive like how the noble is running, other subscriber advised and good option. Hopefully I'll get cracking soon. So keep watching. Thank you :)
I've decided to go route of having engine go across like in the nobile, and only rear wheel drive, cheaper easy option 😁, only thing I've had to put on hold so I can finish my mk1 escort to then put the metro in the garage, can't wait to get cracking on it though, be my dream car.
Looks great mate! I’m building a 6r4 replica myself and have done tons of research, the easiest for you would probably be to go with a transverse sideways rwd layout with the mondeo engine. Look at Nobles as they have this exact setup and are running twin turbos and 450 bhp+. This will also give you more room at the rear bulkhead area behind the seats. I am personally going with a transverse Honda k24 rwd setup, so that’s another option. In terms of 4wd, the only real way to do this is to have the flywheel facing the front of the car and use a cosworth sierra type 4wd gearbox upside down, with cosworth propshafts running forwards and backwards to diffs. It’s complex and expensive but there’s a few videos of a blue and white car on RU-vid with that exact setup. Hope this helps,
Great advice and definitely going to have a look at a noble, yours will definitely get a lot more power when done, I have a civic turbo and it's mental, so know how much power them honda engines can produce, be great to see your project so hopefully see some stuff on your channel soon. Thanks for the good info and if you do see anything else as my build goes on please let me know
