I think the ending of the DLC hints at what the future for the franchise is. The author of the books said that Artyom's story is finished and he won't write another book about him. Also the team found what they were looking for at the end of Exodus so it doesn't make sense for them to make another game about them. Plus it would be interesting to see what the post apocalyptic USA would look like.
It does make sense for them to make another game about Artyom. The team must go to rescue the people in the Moscow Metro as they are secretly controlled by the Invisible Watchers with Aleksei Bessolov (just as Miller said ,he has created the Rangers to save ALL people)
@@caiuscostencu8886 Yeah, no. They travelled about 9500 km (5900 miles), through 2 countries in order to find this place and they barely made it out of Moscow in the first place. Even if we assume they somehow make this trip a second time they will be executed on sight for what they did. Plus it would be a huge missed opportunity, considering the huge reveal at the start where they show a map of the world with radio chatter from the people who managed to survive WW3. I am really hoping for a Metro game set outside of Russia so we can finally see how people in other parts of the world are living 33 years later.
Are we going to get the ending for all the spartans? Duke getting his fiance from metro, alyosha finding the hot tribal lady, idiot getting the tittle of genius lol can't wait.
@@max29pl I still have to read that book. I read it's idea is great. I even want to go to ballet, based on that book. But for now I'll read "The Brothers Karamazov".
If Devs of this game would show us their unexpected ideas which about the next story of Sam's America journey in the next version of Metro, it would be a really interesting game content in my guess. Though this FPS game Metro series had started on Russia with the original hero, Artyom...but I think it can start again in America with Sam the new hero's journey. What's more, it would be gamers' another interesting experience if that is possible.
I'm all for it. To me, Artyom's story is kinda finished. Well, there could always be new problems, or you could play as his son in the next game, but playing as Sam in America looking for his father sounds interesting to me.
If Glukhovsky will agree, to probably we get something. The plot of all 3 Metro games Glukhovsky wrote by himself. But the thing is. Glukhovsky only writes about USSR and Europe.
Definitely worth a continuation of Sam's story and to see what America looked like. Though I think that would require a new game almost. Because they could not use similar monsters and things in America. So much more difficult/expensive to do compared to DLC like this which uses most objects from the main game.
I wanna see Europe (western) beyond anything else. we know from previous games that the new nazi party exists in huge bulk and still does even after constant push backs by the reds and hansa. With concentration camps even set up inside Moscow’s metro. the nazi dudes had a more “refined” look to them with assigning uniforms, equipment and everything- just imagine what it actually looks like in their homeland. It would maybe feel like a post-apocalyptic Wolfenstein but is that a bad thing? Not to mention it could be seen from a British/French/polish perspective. As we know from the map that Artyom and Anna see that there are survivors with a global transmission in Germany and England. France is scarily off the grid so who knows, that could act as a widespread no man's land? Idk, I just wanna stay in Europe or Asia, sorry but personally America as a setting is just getting boring and overused.
@@JayTraversJT Well there is the whole big war in last light, didn't read the books so I don't know if they are anywhere else. But yeah the ones in the game are just russian nazis
I don’t even think it’s possible to have underground life in the NYC subway. The Russian metro itself was designed as a last refuge for Russians against the West. The NYC Subway is just transportation. Most apocalyptic games in America are usually set in wilderness, which is our strength
@@Rudenbehr I think even in the post apocalypse metros and subways in the US and Canada would be used as a last resort form of transportation cause of all the nasties that would be in there.
Got some balls to dive a sub that's spent decades floating around a dock without proper maintenance. I wouldn't trust something like that thing to survive the trip on the surface at slowest possible speed.
@@zippo718 You can do systems maintenance and stuff on board sure, but it's been floating in seawater for 23 years without hull maintenance or protective paint replacement in a drydock. If it hasn't completely rusted through it would probably be significantly weaker......I wouldn't try diving it because rusty metal has the strenght of a biscuit.
@@Zestence the sub itself looked like it was in great condition. It was also kept in a shipyard away from harsh water. The submarine is probably the cleanest thing in the whole series besides Polis station haha.
@@kathrynadkisson8964 Call of duty black ops zombies. The 4th person of the people mentioned above is an american who is voiced by the same guy who is voicing sam.
The one thing I dont understand, is this an american or russian submarine. The captain and crew are all russian, but the name of the submarine is apperantly USS Mayflower. Or did that Tom?
1:23:00 Seems to be a teaser of some sort about a plane in the south that might be interesting to keep in mind... So yeah I finished watching it and I am guessing he pushed the button and went for the other route for the plane?
When I saw the previous metro games with Sam I have suspicious about Sam accent, and it did not sounded russian and it felt more american, but my suspicious was right about him as he was an American stationed in the embassy in moscow.
So disappointing that there are no levels for the 4000 or so km Sam had to drive through to get to Vladivostok valdevostok would be Like Artyoms dead city level the final mission of his journey
It's mentioned in the bandit part of the Exodus campaign that women are a rarity. When they drive by the train and see Anna they freak out over the presence of a woman and race off to tell the baron. My guess is that many women were killed and/or raped after society collapsed, so there's far fewer of them. Can't think of many other explanations for their being treated almost as a commodity by the bandits because they're so rare.
@@BeggarsNight Theres an actually simple reason: Women being more valuable slaves. They can be Maidens, harvesters, and so on. Since they arent born with a schlong theres a NSFW aspect they can profit off
Although Metro in America sounds corny as hell, like a fallout wannabe or something we already played, I do think how good the writer/s for the Metro series are. Something that could be as shallow as living underground eating rats and shrooms turned out to be amazingly immersive for 3 whole games and full sized DLCs. I really think that they could pull off an amazing story even in an American setting, something that doesn't come near to any other "fallout" apocalyptic america is the sole survivor game that has already been done.
I honestly wanted a DLC where after they arrived you can play as variety of characters to build your “settlement” up, go on long missions to rescue survivors or those you have contacted in the main game. Honestly it can be made into a full game now that I think about it.
One thing that doesn't make sense in this game is how come radios aren't already being used to communicate with other parts of the world.. that made sense when they were in Moscow and were being jammed, but once they leave, it shouldn't just be Russia they hear but the entire world. Sam should have been able to contact someone in the US and ask them about how things are shouldn't he?
Why are people for the ending where he goes to America? I find it so stupid since Tom basically said he will threaten everyone with nukes unless they do as he asks that such a bad ending you are taking a side of a tyrant... The 2nd ending is so much better and they can make a full game about Sam's journey to America in a different way like going towards Europe in hopes of finding remains of a civilization to help him get to America
I think from the russian port they came out of, san fran is the next closest american port near san deigo. Also the point was to make a visual reference that they were in american territory.
Hope they dont make the game in US. Had enough of that bullshit trend. Let Metro be in Russia. Europe at most. That’s the high note charm of Metro series. If u want Sam in US perspective make it a good DLC. Other than that. I can see Artyoms group have potential of doing their Duty as Rangers. Finding more people, Kirill will definitly grow up to be a ranger. Hell maybe Sam will return. 10 People group and each of them have their charm and backstory. Maybe one of them will split like Sam did and go to Europe. Or back to Moscow after like 10 years.
@mongooseunleashed Yeah, Tom isn't stupid. He's not willing to nuke the world afterall, just wants to use them as intimidation. But it'd be good to keep the nukes operational just in case if there is any desperate need for them.
So all that to get to San Diego only for Sam to end up in... San Francisco...? I don't get it. Isn't that the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz Island in the background? Are the writers of the game really that clueless or am I missing something?
James Santiago what? That’s a load of crap. Are you serious? I’ll just assume that our Eastern European friends who made this game apparently have less geographic or Google skills than the stereotyped average American.
@@mrXOwarriorAll levels in games made so they look like paintings with a good composition from few specific angles. With such a take on things, I think I know precisely why they show the bridge.
Even though this is an expensive AA game, they still use the same shitty "footsteps on metal" sound effect that was used in the stalker games over 10 years ago. What a shame.
