+Goyagma I agree. The Wii version took a great game and made it worlds better. When I first tried it, I was so used to using a Gamecube controller, I kept telling myself "I'm never gonna get the hang of this." By the time I reached that first boss, I was very surprised at just how well the motion controls responded.

I don't know. Having multiplayer in a Metroid game would be stretching it. I agree with the rest, it's just the multiplayer comment. Seeing how nowadays COD is really getting a beat-down from the gaming community; If Metroid had a multiplayer feature people would immediately call-out at Nintendo for "catering to the COD kiddies."

Multiplayer already exists in Metroid Prime 2. ... Ah, the prime series... how I wish you'd return :/

Play AM2R. It's a remake of Metroid 2, made to look and play like Zero Mission. Currently only demos are available, but they're very fun. Google it.

Piibbish In essence, Fusion doesn't give you the freedom like previous Metroid games gave you. You have to collect the main powerups in a very, VERY specific order, which triggers the next cutscene/dialogue in the game. And if, somehow, you dont follow this linear path by using frame-specific tricks, or cheating/hacking, the game DOES screw you over. Why Fusion did this when previous Metroid games didn't is a mystery... Though the game is still decent.

ShadowFalconPictures I remember when people didn't think the screw attack would work in 3D either ^^ Retro would come up with a way to make the speed booster functional in a 3D environment. They would just need to change some things. I don't think a 3D super metroid is likely. It's good as it is, and Nintendo knows that. We'll see an original story or a remake of Metroid 2 in 3D as the next metroid game.

The Ceej Also, let's be fair. You're going by the retconned version of the story. In the canon, the Metroid's home planet was Zebes. SR388 is where the Space Pirates moved them to after Zebes was destroyed. That's why they mutate on SR388. Because their bodies react negatively to the atmosphere.

I don't remember that passage. I just remember the booklet for the original Metroid was referring to her with male pronouns and saying "not much is known about him." It is possible that one of the non-canon games mentions that it was thought she was a robot, but I'm fairly sure that wasn't mentioned in the canon.

***** The primary complaints for Other M is Samus' personality and her not using her equipment at Adam's request. I will address these complaints separately. First, her personality. People complained that, despite her being a badass space bounty hunter in a kickass power suit, she still acted girly and weak. The fact is, even though she is an awesome bounty hunter and amazingly strong, she is still a woman. Women have emotions, women think, and women feel. This does not make her any less badass; it makes her more human. Secondly, the fact that Adam requests she not use some of her equipment and she complies. This comes from the fact that Adam helped her achieve adulthood. She was raised by the Chozo, but when she became a teenager, she was enlisted in the Galactic Federation and Adam was her commanding officer. He was also a father figure for her. There was a tremendous amount of respect between the two, something you would understand with military service. So, even though she was fully equipped to handle the situations, was not under anyone's authority, and could have easily disobeyed Adam and used her gear, she chose to comply, out of the great respect she has for him. People who have serviced in the military would understand this easily. Those who have not served would find it harder to understand.

That's exactly the point I've been trying to get across. This game just gets bashed unfairly. People need to stop complaining and enjoy the game for what it is.
