Dread would probably be the best Metroid in the series if the EMMIs could go anywhere on the map. I'm absolutely baffled that no Megaman or Metroid (or even Soulslike game) has had the balls to do that. The constant, bowel-clenching fear of knowing you might actually have to run and hide from something powerful outside of a single scripted scene is of phenomenal allure to me.

Man I always have so many issues with Ryujinx. Yuzu is the way to go, if for no other reason than it has async shader compute. Helps immensely with micro-stuttering.

I don't know much about speedrunning Metroid Fusion, but I do remember it more than I did Prime to be honest as a kid. People say it's straightforward or more so than other Metroid games, but in my opinion if that were the case that is a positive. It was on the Gameboy Advanced when it first came out and I leaned more into that game than even Pokemon. Pokemon is such a grind. Which I suppose Fusion could be too, but I felt like you know what you are doing if you already completed the game, so if you took your Gameboy with you anywhere, the game was so easy to jump into and to a degree just mindlessly play it.

My theory is that they originally intended you to be able to use the powerbombs you get before getting the main powerbomb from the emmi, but then they decided not to, but forgot to take out the powerbombs and powerbomb blocks over by the wave emmi.

Hello, how do get the automatic item tracker looking like yours? Mine stays as a second window and I can't get it to be like an overlay with just the icons. Sorry I'm somewhat computer illiterate.

Kinda like Oats mentioned, I dont remember the game well enough to see the difference between this and vanilla. In ignorance, this just looks like a first playthough to me.

I haven't been keeping up with the dread rando and got disappointed about wave first. But I guess they fixed progressive beams and missiles so thats sick.

Does anyone know how hard is this to set up? Is it played on a hacked switch or with an emulator? I sometimes play oot, alttp and sm randos, but I think setting up this one is very different lol

I wish Dread had better background music like SM, and overall it's just too busy w/all the automatic video scenes...yes the graphics are cool, but it just doesn't feel special when you grab an item anymore, the chozo don't exist...i'm just not as much of a fan of dread as SM, that's all. They could make the next one better....

Very reassuring to see someone other than me die to those fucking EMMI, especially someone like Oats. I despise this game because of the insta-kill bullshit and that they camp the doors you exit from knowing you have to come back. It wasn't fun at all. Though now I can experience it vicariously through someone "good," unlike me apparently.

May i suggest putting your camera in the corner and the chat above? While the chat is semi transparent the camera really throws me off whenever you walk right. Otherwise really happy to see some Dread Randos for a change!

Still sucks that these randomizers allow you to get softlocked. A safe logic setting is sorly needed in some of the metroid randos to make them on par with other games.

I love the streamer, (and metroid), but I find Dread to be such a snoozefest. I just can't get into the game. at all. randomizer or not.
