A retrospective and review of Metroid Fusion on the Game Boy Advance. This is the next video in my Metroid Playlist, I will be playing every Metroid title and providing a Metroid Series Retrospective. #metroid #nintendo #gba
I'll tell you, it was really fantastic at the time getting to play Fusion and Prime at the same time after going so long without a Metroid game. Of the two though I think I preferred Prime simply because of how well it pulled off the atmosphere of the game. Fusion was great too, and you aren't kidding about it being much better in the controls department. They really tightened up the gameplay of the game. I still prefer Super, but Fusion's a great game. I think I kind of prefer the game when you kind of determine your own boss fight difficulty by exploring for upgrades. Especially with the Mercury Stream Metroids it feels like I need every single upgrade just to survive. It's not a bad change, but I think I'd prefer if they weren't quite as difficult as they are. :D
9:20 - I haven't played this since the time I finished it at release, but wasn't the Metroid research a late game spoiler? IIRC you find out about it when you see SA-X attacking a bunch of them and Samus is pretty pissed that the GalFed is trying to use the Metroids as bioweapons just like the Space Pirates were. In fact wasn't Adam trying to keep her from finding the Metroid research? Also I'm pretty sure the X weren't doing anything with Metroid DNA. Metroids are X's natural predator and they're very weak to Metroids and can't infect them. Edit: Oh, there we go, we talk about it at 17:18. But yeah it's not the X enhancing the Metroids, it's the Galactic Federation. The X are trying to kill the Metroids because they're their one weakness.
