Ahh, I can't wait to play this. ;) Obviously I'm new to Metroid (and not much of a gamer, mind you) but this series has me rather excited. Yay for being a newbie Samus fan.
A few tips, both general and for this specific fight: -Don't use charge beams. They deal good damage, but I find that it's not worth the charge up phase. Better off with continuous normal blasting. -Don't use missiles. In terms of speed to power, they are outclassed even by charge beams. -You can tell Dark Samus and his/her/its clones apart in 2 ways: First, simply use the X-Ray Visor. The real Dark Samus will be highlighted. However, this doesn't work when Dark Samus fuses with the clones.
just look back at the old video games for metroid ...now look at this...the movements are incredably human like and the graphics are freaking sweet...the weapons and armours just blow your minds....and the story lines are always great.....metroid has got to be the greatest sci-fi game ever made!!!
I think I can answer that: After crashing on a planet, the Leviathans die, but before that they attract a powerful creature to corrupt it(like Mogenar and Helios) and make them protect the Seed. So, in MP1, after the Leviathan crashed it attracted a Metroid, turning it into Metroid Prime and the Space Pirates found it later.
Two tips if you're on Phaaze on Hypermod. If you can take down enemies quickly, before they even attack, the faster your trip to the core. Second, if you're about 1/10 to 1/8 to total corruption after fighting Dark Samus. You can easily get your health back by shooting weak point in the front, and collecting the Anti-Phazon Units. It's slow as hell, but you'll be better off with a low Phazon level. If you damage it enough, they'll try to use morphball attacks making healing a bit harder.
For those who are confused on what DS is, it is Metroid prime adapting to its enemy. If you read the Pirate Lore in MP1 it talks about how Metroid Prime adapts to fight its enemies. So for those who were hoping to fight Metroid prime in its original form, I'm sorry to say that Metroid prime has deemed its new form more able to harm Samus than the original form it had.

He's in hyper mode the whole time because he's on the planet Phaaze. Phaaze is made completely of Phazon, so the moment Samus lands there, she's corrupted permanently. You're in hyper mode the entire time you're on Phaaze.
@xtrem3rd Continued... (Damn you, 500 character limit!) -The second way to tell Dark Samus and the clones apart is to look closely. The clones don't have a glowing visor.
Dark Samus is the Metroid Prime, if you played MP you defeat the Metroid Prime but before it dies ir steals Samus's suit and in the end became some sort of Samus's clone with Phazon qualities, in MP2 you defear Dark Samus again but in the end with the 100% you see how it somehoe managed to regenerate itself again and in MP3 you get the final fight.
sorry for double posting, but another question popped into my mind. When you were versing that weird brain looking thing (AU313 i think), how did u shoot him with a single shot and drain his health by 25%?
Dark samus is actually Metroid Prime... I think =/ A reincarnation of Samus. The oldest time that that happened was in Metroid Fusion, when Samus got invaded by X (possibly phazon?) and a reincarnation of herself, fully powered, appeared.
it amazes me how so many people think that "metroid" will be over just cuz the prime series is over, the PRIME series is over, not metroid. There have been other cases where iv'e seen stuff like this pop up, sometimes with zelda, alot of times with metroid, as well as severla other games i can't think of off the top of my head.
@vandamator94 Did you know that before they made up any of this Prime stuff that Metroid was going to be one solid trilogy with the original 3 games. But the original guy that came up with Super Metroid died before it got done. So others took over and made all these games that happened "in between" the original 3. Samus' original and 1st nemesis has and most likely will be in future games the mother brain and space pirates. IMO

if all SAX's teamed up, they might repulse dark samus, but never beat her unless they have phazon abilities, since the only way to truly kill her is to overload her with phazon. phazon can also corrupted anything, including machinery and any bioform, living or dead. if 20 wave beam charges can kill a SAX, then a couple phazon charge blasts(like what happenned to the hunters, corrupting them and leaving them unconcious for a month) will kill it
on normal mode, this was a piece of cake. on Hard, goddamn it she is a b*tch. that attack @3:40 where the three of them just spin around at you and it's hard to stop, I swear she kept doing that.

actually, the way he did it was much smarter. If u only go after the real Dark Samus, the echoes are gonna really hurt ya, plus they given health. The echoes are a part of Dark Samus, if u ignore them, they'll only make the battle harder for you. ( especially that weird spinning thing they do)
Dark Samus is freakin awesome! So is omega ridley. They both have awesome theme songs, look awesome, and have awesome moves. Although they both could use a little more ferociousness, ya know? Aren't they kinda fighting for their lives here? I would like to see ridley swoop down, grab samus, try to bite her head off, and then fling her against a wall or phazon pool or something. And dark samus should do more shooting, less floating around.
Thats a strange random connection to make which makes me believe that you already new this and were just saying that but the guy that made the music for the Dragonball and Dragon Quest series's(Kenji Yamamoto) made the music for this game.
Is it just me...? Or is the theme just before the fight begins THE EXACT same tune used in MP2 whenever DS was about to show up? Man that theme used to creep me out...
did anyone but me notice that dark samus is using the other hunters abilities? like rundas's ice towers gandraday's pinkness and jumpieness and Ghors plasma beams. and does anyone else think that dark samus's theme song is catchy as hell?
oh yeah btw for those who dont know Metroid Prime is Dark Samus if u beat the 1st metroid prime with 100% ud see the real ending when u kill metroid prime and dark samus comes out of metroid primes goo
She kept picking up Phazon Energy units, you didn't notice? They are very small and very well camoflauged to the background, that's probably why you didn't see them, and the reason you probably didn't hear the noise was the music and the attacking. So that's why her Energy was at 0 most of the fight.
That's a debatable issue. Dark Samus seems to have been killed because of all existing Phazon being rendered inactive as a result of Phaaze's destruction, which would include the Phazon in her. That's probably the only way she could truely die, but we can only speculate.
i think that dark samus/metriod prime is probably the biggest and most powerful enemy of the metriod games. and a question 2 the person who made this vid; have u eva beaten these guys on hard mode? i have yet 2 do so. i keep diein at the head because mi phazon meter gets 2 high by the time i get 2 him.
Really need to be able to edit... forgot that you were locked in Hyper Mode at the end of the game. The beam's called the Hyper Beam (who would've thought?)
Only with 100% on the origional metroid prime would let you see her true, I think. She is the remains of Metroid Prime in Samus's phazon suit, I sauppose.
he kinda just got warped into a bunch of phaaze which in corruption dark samus comes back and teams up with the space pirates again to pretty much cause havok and takes over alot of allies of samus who she has to kill then pretty much finds a warp point to phaaze which dark samus created and after she kills dark samus again the planet explodes destroying all the phaaze and probably the remains of dark samus for good (which in the cutscense a ship that looks from metroid hunters shows up
@Raxer21 It sounds like the game just wasn't for you. The nature of most Metroid games (up to Other M, which breaks the mold) are relatively silent. You just wander around planets with the occasional input from an outside source (your ship, fleet command, etc). If you don't care about the plot you can basically ignore it. If you do, you can scan everything and read about it. But the essence of the series is exploration and puzzle solving paired with combat.If you don't like the first two...
5:02 samus thinking: OHHH.... CRAAP.. in any case found this boss quite easy. even with really low energy tanks. i wish the Hyper Missles were more powerful though.. they wer a bit dissapointing in power. charge beam does more damage, which blows.
you gotta be kidding me ;__;, the game has the potential, have you played dificulty Hyper mode?, even 3 Pirates together are hard to beat without hyper mode, I pleaying that right now and I can't wait to see how's the final battle.

at 3:40 how do i dodge the attack because every time i try(i'm hard difficulty)she hits me, and either i die or i gets infected with loads of phazon and i die later. sorry for the missspells i'm french
i can !!! dark samus has been created in the end of metroid prime one when she fightagainst metroid prime as a final death attack metroid prime put a last strike on samus that did make her lose all her uprgade and she loose fason armor after that samus escape but the loosed armor fused whit fason and this is where u see a black end comming from the grong dark samus hand and in the end of metroid prime 2 you can see that dark samus eye look like the one of metroid prime
you're talking about "Super Metroid" from SNES, Metroid Prime story/saga happens before that, if you wanna know about that you should play Metroid Fusion for GBA, that's Super Metroid's sequel.
