With the surprise release of Prime Remastered, here's my take on the opening titles to Prime/Prime 2! Thanks for listening! Metroid Cinematica Recharged is available at samostudios.ba... Itunes, Amazon, and more
Sam. You bring hope dude. Zelda, Metroid.. it all brings hope to those who have lost it. After 7 years its time. Dude, your music made people like me, Hold on to what most have lost. Thank you.
Damn, that's tasty. I just gleeked a little. A much needed upgrade of maybe my favorite ditty of all freaking time. 90 seconds was just never enough. And didnt neglect the hard synth either... the sci- orchestral deserves more than a niche for movie trailers and villain entrances. Thank you. You are appreciated.
Holy shit that was amazing. Finally a worthy opponent to Noble Demon's / Blake Robinson's super metroid prologue themes in terms of quality, maybe even a better rendition if we count all the leitmotifs!
Keep doing your thing. I don't even know Metroid music, but this is great, it actually reminds of the Tron sound track a bit. Big fan of your Zelda stuff too.
Burning Labyrinths (From "Shantae") is a masterpiece of a song (I write it here because they don't allow comments on the original video on this same channel)
Hi and thanks, though none of my videos have comments disabled so I'm not sure what you mean... I even double checked the vid (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ia1JXIwDi9Q.html) and comments are allowed...
I think Retro studios has something really special planned for metroid prime 4 (although im willing to bet the title will be different). This is fucking awesome.
Honestly so amazing, its stunning how good this is. I am curious, I sometimes have big projects that I like to do with epic music, would I be able to use these songs for my videos or no? Either way, keep doing what you do, you got me as a subscriber.
Your music is so phenomenal and fantastic 👏 😍 Metroid music is my top favorite! By the way are you planning on remastering phendrana drifts? Thats one of my favorites
Recharged is great, happy I paid for your work the third time after Zelda and MC. Personal criticism: When listening to it though, I realized Cinematica - for me!! - already was perfect as standalone Metroid album and imho maybe the more balanced audio- journey in pacing as an album which in comparison makes it an overall more enjoyable listening experience I prefer to this date, I have listend like 30 times to Cinematica I think.. Recharged somewhat has lost some of its` playfulness and joy and excitement of discovery which did fit so nicely the Metroid Games... maybe has been refined so much so there´s even a hint of forced effort. A little difficult to explain because in no way I want to devalue your art which I have been enjoying for so many years already. But... in the end for me there was no need for Recharged, or the old tracks may have persevered only new ones added... Overall everything´s fine because like this everyone can listen to their favorite versions. :-)
Thanks for your input; perfectly fair criticism! Recharged was never part of the plan, it began as I was preparing to just remaster Cinematica for a vinyl release. I hadn't listened to it in years, and as I went through it again there were a lot of things that bugged me from audio issues to creative decisions I had to make the first time around in order to keep the album short enough to fit on a CD. So it kinda snowballed from fixing a few tracks, to redoing a few parts, to redoing entire tracks and making new ones I had wanted to include before. Plus I had limited instruments to work with back then which held me back a little. And to be fair, I did also keep in mind criticism of the first album, which was mainly how it wasn't similar enough to the original tracks, so that did color my approach a bit. I sought to compose the soundtrack to a Metroid movie that only existed in my head, which of course can create an issue since listeners don't know what I envisioned and can only take the album at face value. So for Recharged, I tried to find a balance there. In the end, I feel it is a much improved album overall but yeah... this one is slightly less "Sam Dillard original Metroid music" and slightly more "Metroid audience expectation music" but most of the former still remained intact.
@@SamoStudios wow thanks for that en detail response, though I am not producing music as media designer I think I get what you mean. When designing something there are things I imagine which nobody else probably would understand. Also when consuming art I try to feel what the artist may have intended or also what was his or her mood when creating it, apart from if I like or dislike it. What you have in mind when creating art is totally personal and that is also why my opinion does not really matter and I wasn't sure if I should post it. I am glad I did though, really appreciate your thoughts on this! Thanks
