That feel when landing on Tallon and walking out with this music and the waterfall, foliage, small ponds. Then looking up and seeing the raindrops trickle on your visor. One of the finest video games ever.
A truly epic, one of a kind experience. I wish I had no memory, turned on the gamecube for the first time with this game on it and feel the same way I felt 14 years ago when I played this for the first time. I was a 13 year old kid blown away by the magnificense of everything at the beginning of the game. I was in total aww. I stood on the landing site for about 5 minutes (I am serious) looking at every wall, every flower, every leaf, the waterfall, the ship... I admired everything on the landing site... The artwork had me amazed and the raindrops on the visor made it even more awesome. I was a regular Metroid fan before this game. After that day, I fell in love with the Metroid franchise for giving me such a unique gaming experience like no other.
Man, I remember landing on Tallon IV for the first time...such an awesome feeling, just looking around at this beautiful environment hearing this track playing. It helps that I really love rainy areas. The Prime series is unmatched when it comes to atmosphere.
I just sat there for like 5 minutes once I landed on the Tallon overworld, feeling like this is the most metroid metroidy music of metroid, ready to explore.
That made it even cooler. That reference to the Brinstar theme made me remember how I played the NES as a kid and I recognized it instantly. It made me love the game even more and I only had like 1 hour playing it.
you came out of the ship and you watch around the place. its raining, you dont know where you are and this song is playing in the background. that feeling is just outstanding.
This was by far the most nostalgic and my personal favorite theme from this game. When I first heard it and saw the raindrops on Samus' visor and saw the serenity surrounding her ship, I thought, "This is going to be one of my favorite gaming experiences of all time!" 13 years later and my thoughts have not changed in the least!
Did you actually noticed the slight Brinstar Theme variation here i bet we never thought about that while playing in this area with that background music its actually pretty damn nuts :D
When I first played this game and got to Tallon IV I fell asleep cause the music and the rain relaxed me enough to pass out xD friend then saved my game and turned it off
ahh... tallon iv... my favorite planet in the world of metroid. every time its a rainy day in the real world, i wish i was in the game and can feel the rain from tallon iv on my skin. damn this is a wonderful planet with a wonderful music theme...
Story time! The year was 20xx and I watched my older brother beat this game when I was very small. Now the remaster came out and I just beat it with a 73% with my dad watching. :D Godbless everyone and take care!
All I can do is hope that I get to live to see the day when conventional space travel is a thing. How amazing it would be to land on a planet with dense forests of alien life, and playing this in my spacesuit or something.
Back when you could play game demos at dept stores, I would go to Target and play the Frigate Orpheon, just eagerly waiting to get a gamecube and Metroid Prime. But I never imagined what was to come. Landing on Tallon IV for the first time, this heavenly music playing as rain trickled on samus' visor, zoomers crawling along ground, lush vegetation everywhere...10 yrs old me had a pretty big imagination, but that first landing in Tallon Overworld took me somewhere I'd never been before. Mentally, I'm still there on Tallon IV.
Some people had the nerve to say that they wanted this music remixed in Metroid Prime Remastered, and I'm sitting here like, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." I never got to play this game when it was new, and I can say without a doubt that this soundtrack stands the test of time even 21 years later.
@@demacolapoo If my suit got sapped of all its powers and I saw my biggest enemy that killed forever ago back and better then ever Yeah id be trippin balls
i never got past this first stage as a kid, only cuz i was shitting my pants out of terror lol, but that means i heard this song more times than i can count just trying to man up and finally go through this first area past the prologue. i think todays the day i try again, some 12 years later. 6 year old me would be proud to know im not afraid of tiny bugs in a metroid game anymore lmfao
Not only did this theme set the tone for the Tallon IV homeworld and its varied environments, but the game managed to maintain that sense of atmosphere throughout. Especially for its time, but even now, it's one of the finest 3D shooter/platformer games in existence.
The side games are just like parts added on to a book or movie that describe how the character(s) did random stuff during a bit we didn't see normally between a part we did see and another part. The beginning, end, and following events of the story surrounding the blank spot are already determined when such an interlude is made, therefore it must present a contained story while still fitting in and being consistent with later events.
You'd think an outer space themed series would have so much potential. I hope the Wii U fulfills the cravings of desperate Metroid fans with an installment as epic as Prime.
+Juan Guillen Sorry to have to tell you this, but there won't be a "Metroid U". Back when the Federation Farce fiasco occured, it was confirmed that there was no Metroid game for Wii U in the works at the time. And now? It's too late for a full game to be developed before Project NX is released. On the bright side, I've been hearing uplifting rumors that there'll be a Metroid game for Project NX's launch!
+ZobmieRules what they've actually said (and I think it was Retro who said this) was that if they were to make a new metroid, it would be for the nx. that unfortunately doesn't mean they're making one.
And who knows? I mean the secret ending of Metroid Prime 3: Corruption left room for something else to happen. I would like to see the Metroid Prime series get a place in the true storyline instead of it just being a story kept within its own sequels. Anyway, as long as the gameplay is similar to Metroid Prime or any of 2D Metroids, I will be a happy person.
I got pissed at the beginning too. But think about it; at first you enter this unknown place, you've never seen it or heard of it before, it is full of mystery and uncertainty. You are very weak and fear to explore. Tthis new place you encounter overwhelms you at first...... .... But when the music changes far deeper into the game, you have already mastered some of Tallon IV's sceneries. You feel confident, you feel that nothing will stop you and the need for adventure thrives within you. That's why the up-beat theme substitutes the old one when you return. That is perfect game design right there, in my humble opinion of course.
