SuperZ 2011 Yeah, I think a word that could describe it better is “Fear.” The fear the Luminoth have about the Ing, the Fear the Galactic Federation has about the same thing. Fear of the unknown, like: what are you actually gonna face at the end of this and why does Dark Samus and the Space Pirates want the Phazon.
I wouldn't say the story was awful. I bet we've seen the same thing done in many other games, but the presentation of the drama in Other M was terribly executed. Had it been better thought out and presented, it wouldn't have been such a huge drag.
The fact that they specifically included Rundas's theme in this makes me think they either knew how popular Rundas was or they loved him as much as we do. Perhaps both.
It’s because he was pure and naive. He was like a child at heart and his innocence got him killed. It’s just a nod to cruelty of reality as it would be in our world.
This trilogy is the absolute love of my life. Remember when I bought it as soon as it came out back in 2009. Echoes is my favourite, but all three of them are absolutely wonderful to play. Still play it at least once a year. It's a tradition.
We share the same sentiment. I always play it once or twice a year as well. Hopefully Prime 4's theme is as epic as all the three game's opening has been.
Yea there was something about Echoes that I really loved. The Ing were fascinating and terrifying at the same time, and the mystery of Dark Samus blew my mind. Prime 3's good too, but Echoes was where it was at.
@@Birthnote Echoes is the marmite of the series, you either love it or hate it. I personally love it. The sheer feeling of dread you experience when exploring aether (especially the dark version) accompanied by depressing log entries of the luminoth offing themselves before the corruption from the ing could take them... It's a heavy game but satisfying
I consider this the first trilogy. At least....until the 4th game releases. For all we know the first trilogy is 100% over, but MP4 could take us into a new trilogy (like Halo 4.....lets just hope its better than Halo 4).
"but how are they gonna add prime 3? that game is full of motion controls" to be fair the switch has motion controls too, and if you just have the joycons hanging out you can use it just like a wiimote, so yes i see it to be possible, will it happen? that's up to nintendo
I'm hoping they do an HD remaster, as well as giving us a "Classic" control scheme for Prime 1 & 2. As great as the motion control aiming is, I still happen to really like the original controls (I know; I'm a heathen right? xD) and even got pretty good with them. ~
Samus Aran, the legendary Bounty Hunter of Chozo and Human heritage, a figure of power and righteousness in the eyes of those who fight to preserve peace in the Galaxy. A complete powerhouse of balance in both mind and body. Unbreakable, immovable, unstoppable. Although she has suffered loss, she always moves. Never slowing down, never ceasing, never stopping the fight. This woman-- no, this beast, has defeated countless enemies singlehandedly and has destroyed entire planets in complete and utter lonelines. Truly, one of the most legendary heroes, if not beings, in all of fiction-- and not just fiction, but history. Ignoring Other M, Samus' personality was shown without a single spoken word. Courageous, just, compassionate, calm, righteous and bold.

The part that hits me the hardest about this song is around :50. The synth and the choir sharing the melody gives me goosebumps. The Prime soundtracks heavily influenced my music compositions, and were a driving force for me to pursue my career in that field. It's a BIG dream, but I've always wanted to compose a soundtrack to a Metroid game. Hnnngh.
A little said too early though. We don't know anything how MP4 looks like. And Samus Returns have to deal with an outstanding and populair fangame, Fans WILL compare these no matter what. That said, I AM Hyped for further news though, and I've already pre-ordered Samus Returns because I'm just a lover of Metroid II. :3
I don't care about sci-fi I don't care about aliens I do care about the Metroid Prime trilogy more than anything in the world. What a masterpiece. This is the reason I became a Level Designer in the first place.
I’m not a real sci-fi person either but for some reason Metroid’s just got me invested. Probably cause of the lore, collecting, and badass female protagonist
you're saying that like it was out of there. what metroid was always goat. it's simply the creepy alien more horror/serious/more mature aspect that scare off people
@@dogu1601 metroid are not a numerous as the others license yes. request a far more detail level design maybe. hmmmmm i dunno pal? metroid is underrated, that's for sure.
Retro Studios eres legendario. en game cube solo jugue el prime 1 ya que no teniamos casi dinero para el 2 y pues en las epocas de wii tenia la 360 . Y jugue el prime 3 y el 2 en wiiu
I really wish they added the title and menu themes of each game after you selected them, but still this is a fantastic title theme and encapsulates all 3 games perfectly.
Just finished it a week ago, all three games, emulated on PC with MnK controls. What a fucking joy that was, a true masterpiece in videogame design each of the three. Don't know what the fuck is Nintendo or Retro Studios waiting to release this on the Switch tbh
I have so many memories playing this trilogy set in my late childhood and early preteens!!! these games are fantastic!!!! Really hope for a game like this on the Switch!!!
Metroid Prime was one of the very first video games I ever played, and now, 15 years later, I’m glad to say that all three of the Metroid Prime games hold up incredibly.
Metroid Prime is one of my all-time favorite games. I must've played thru the entire thing a dozen times over the years, a bit of a yearly tradition I suppose. Echoes is great, too. Love the light/dark theme (although Dark Aether kinda feels monotonous), but it can be hard as hell some times (that friggin' Spider Ball boss, gah!). Of course, that makes actually beating the game feel all the more like an accomplishment, heh. Corruption is good, though I find myself frustrated with the motion controls and the doors taking f-o-r-e-v-e-r to open. Love the bit of worldbuilding it does -- we get to see other hunters, a taste of what the Galactic Federation's like, and even visit the Space Pirate's homeworld. And the Aurora Unit's eerie resemblance to Mother Brain is a far more interesting spin on the idea of GF basically doing what the Pirates do than Fusion and Other M's Metroid cloning.
I'm proud to have picked this up at GameStop, it was used for $60 (included with warranty and the case and booklet inside but no slide cover ontop of the case, but the case still looks epic by itself). I haven't played any of them so this is definitely a great chance for me to play through this game series. I think I'm almost done the first one, I just have to find all the artifacts and super missile types.
***** Because Nintendo are nowaday assholes and they don't give a shit about their old franchises. And even if they bring back Metroid, it will just be another Other M.
cole train When a gaming company creates 1 game for a beloved franchise every 6, 7 years it is not very optimistic. And if Federation Force does REALLY bad on sales I fear the worst for Metroid....
wow....its the most epic and beautiful theme ever and how could i have missed this theme! i have to say.. rundas's theme is technically the main theme for metroid prime 3. but wow, it goes from 1 into 2 and 3 just makes it even more epic and awesome! i'm glad i own all 3. i hope they make more. we need samus to be cool again!
Absolhunter251 A new race unknown to Chozo and Lumioth themselves goes berserk and attacks them.. Their thrist for war after negligence of the federation is abundant, they annihilated the space pirates and alliied with the other hunters left..... The chozo and luminoth remaining in the galaxy unite their tchnologies to enhance samus once again to destroy this new menace... That would be cool. And of course an online multiplayer like we see in FPS, with the ability to play as any hunter and capable of changing the costume, suits, boots, helmets, appearence... I WOULD SO BUY THAT GAME!
samy29987 and maybe in the next prime game, we get to see samus and sylux meet again. since in the complete ending of metroid prime 3, sylux follows samus. and maybe even kraid in the next game. the pirates try to bring ridely back maybe. :)
Absolhunter251 Yea, that ending in MP3 has to be explained. Maybe retro is working on it now as we speak here in youtube.. But it can't be just Samus and Sylux in the game, there has to be something else.... Something bigger in terms of story.... A Kraid could be cool, Ridley on the other hand is kind of dead.. Samus has killed him like 15 times lol
Does anybody have sheet music or remixes of this? Seriously. This is a beautiful overture for the beloved subset of a long dead franchise, yet so far in my search, the internet has come up empty. IT MUST BE FIXED.
Wait, Dolphin can view internal files? Since when?! Cause that's awesome! ...too bad my CPU doesn't support SSE2 >_>; (I'll have to use my sister's laptop when she comes back from college next month)
Retro makes the absolute best title and main menu themes. I don't even know why they put so much effort behind these themes, but they do, and so often they become my favorite pieces within their respective games.
