This game had the best main menu mechanics I've ever seen

Favorite Prime game. Favorite Metroid game. Favorite game of all time. God this game is so fucking underrated.

Echoes is absolutely the Majora's Mask of Metroid. >is the sequel to the first 3D game in the series that instead of retreading familiar ground opted for more "experimental" gameplay that hasn't been done again in the series >reused a LOT of assets from the previous game but with a new twist to them >has such incredibly rushed development that it's a miracle that it end up being this good >is a side-story that doesn't feature the series' big villains >is much much darker than anything seen before or since in the series, easily being its darkest entry >is much more difficult (combat- and exploration-wiser) ight off the bat, being intended for hardcore players who need to have played and mastered the previous game, sadly something we don't see anymore >is somewhat dividing among the fans, being either a favorite or least favorite of the typical fan >its sequel which is on the next generation console is much more casual-oriented, easier and more colorful, yet still a great entry in the series

This game has the best title screen of the trilogy. Gives me chills every time I watch it. Kinda surprised that they put less effort into MP3C's title screen. One thing I would change is that I'd give it a bit more time to display the title before going into the demo gameplay footage.

I'm so glad you did it in this way. I used to leave this title screen on just looping while I did things like homework or build legos. Hearing the sound effects of the title appearing on top of the music is ingrained in me and brought back more memories than just hearing the song does.

Just listening to the music on its own doesn't do it justice, it needs the *METROID PRIME 2: ECHOES* letter entering sounds to be complete . Here's to hoping Prime 2 gets Remastered for Switch. Just so I can see this BEAUTIFUL title screen in HD

I booted up Metroid Dread the other day, and when the title just kind of glitched in I was like, "...that's it?" I immediately thought of this intro. THIS is how you start a scary Metroid game.

Looks great, I love these intros. Shame they took them out of the Trilogy release. I actually never saw the file select screen from Corruption, I only played on Trilogy. I do remember seeing the title screen before it was released, with that absolutely incredible theme music.

And now they must remake this one.

1:33 The madlads really put the room right before the final boss as the second preview. It's supposed to showcase the Screw Attack but it also spoils the Light Suit.

The way the text moves is oddly satisfying, I’m almost done with Prime 1, can’t wait to start this one

The loss of this title screen is the only real regret I have regarding the Trilogy version. I get it, there's no need for a player to go through two titles screens, that's just padding. But even so, this title screen just does it for me. As the "Metroid" of the title erupts across the screen, the sound it makes gives me chills.

Just love how they partially show the Ing in the dark. By far one of my favorite enemies ever put on Metroid games.

Still play this on my wii. Excellent for late night dark rooms.

The trilogy needs to come out on Switch already! Markomaro I hope you're right with your recent leak of a "Metroid Prime Collection" finally coming to the Switch early 2022. I could than finally retire my Wii.

There is no title screen now, nor will there EVER be, that comes even remotely close to matching the unparalleled awesomeness of this game's title screen.

It's amazing how this game managed to stand alongside MP1 carrying the same DNA but yet so iconic in its own way. Ridiculous how little these games come into discussions.

When I was a kid, i remember watching my dad playing super metroid on the snes, i didnt get at all what was the point of the game back then. Years later after the wii came out, my dad bought me a copy of Metroid prime 2 for christmas, at first I was a lil bit dissapointed that it wasnt another game, but I tryed it anyways. I will never forget this opening, the menu, and gorgeous atmosphere this master piece. After that i became a fan i played all the other titles as soon as i can. I love/like all of them (even other m and galactic federation), but to me Metroid Prime 2 as an introductory to the franchise is an always will be my favorite metroid, and this opening is legendary.

The motions graphics artists had an absolute field day with this game. It oozes with passion. I hope Prime 4 will continue this legacy, because such intros are so rare nowadays.

I remember getting this game pre-owned when I was a kid, only ever heard of Metroid in a magazine, but not much else. Put this in and it blew my 10 year old mind, it was otherworldy but immensely cool at the same time. I had a lot of good memories playing this, even the multiplayer.

Although there are many amazing tunes in video games I still think this song does a better job at accomplishing its goal than any other. It gives you chills, fills you with hope, fear, and dread, it sounds alien, and also sounds fantastic despite that. If this was the music screen for a horror game I would never get past this music.

This is gonna get released to the switch same with 3 for the release of 4 prime beyond…

Best thing about echoes main menu is that it keeps u watching and listening to it with occasional playthroughs to keep it fresh.
