A better comparison would have been to leave the Wii in 480p 4:3 mode. 480p is not 16:9 and only anamorphicly stretches the image, which in turn makes it less sharp.
Es mejor la Wii; porque puedes comprar la versión que más te guste y la consola reproducirá sin ningún problema (siempre y cuando sea el modelo con retrocompatibilidad). Saludos. -
And lot of particle efects, when you shot to some far wall in Gamecube version you can see the impact and the effect of the shot but in Wii version not, some light efects are also missing in Wii version.
I wouldn't mind a complete HD remake of this trilogy....

My biggest dream would be a complete remake of all three games for VR, with full body tracking and hand tracking support. Unreal Engines 5s Nanite system for extreme visual fidelity, remastered soundtracks. A dream. It would sell like crazy on PC but Ninntendo doesen't seem to be interested in the PC market, even though there is a huge demand for their games on proper hardware.
@@angelvillegas9604 It doesen't seem like you even briefly understand the concept of PC gaming. Or gaming on the switch, for that matter. And no, if you want to compare the two, the switch doesen't say otherwise. The switch is a mere smudge on the chart compared to the PC market, despite it being big.
The waves caused by Samus Power Beam are absent in the Wii version. Also, although is not shown here, the Ice Beam has a cool ice effect on Samus cannon on the Gamecube. This is also missing on the Wii. And that's... odd. Because everything else is equal or better on Wii. Why are these effects missing?
It's amazing the amount of details that this game has. I've only played the wii version, the last time being two years ago, and it still holds up very well in every aspect.
I think it's because of the motion controls. In the GC version Samus's arm cannon is always pointed at the center of the screen, whereas with the Wii version you can point and tilt the arm in different directions. Which means in the GC version those effects only have to be rendered at one angle. To bring those same effects to the Wii version would mean drawing those effects for all possible arm positions. Either they couldn't or didn't want to go through the effort of doing that. That's my guess.
@@outsideredge What I don't get is why they removed the tessellation for liquid. What I mean is that, in the Gamecube version, shooting at a surface like lava would cause it to bump up. This is noticeably missing when I tried Trilogy.
I have both version and wii anti-aliasing is very bad, gamecube games look better in overall, i don't know why Wii graphics look washed out and so jagged edges.
I bought my GameCube full of enthusiasm. Attractive 3D graphics and a great controller. I assumed it would be around for many years to come. So I was appalled when they quickly announced the GameCube was being retired to make way for the Wii. And was was so revolutionary about the Wii's hardware that made it necessary to release a new console? NOTHING!
Being the perfect machine for playing both of your old favorite games and the new future games released on it? Honestly I would be happy about being able to play both of my old favorite Gamecube Games (With the addition of Nes, Snes and N64 games) and also being able to play the new games without having to buy another console
@@thanerosa certain dolphin spinoff gives this game mouse control and increased resolution. What’s so bad about that? Emulation is a good thing. Especially with Nintendo’s pretty shitty practices.
I will never understand why it always take Nintendo 2 concoles to make a graphical improvement. GameCube and wii =same Wii U and Nintendo switch = same... I just don’t get it, I’ve seen games on the Wii U that look worse on my switch :( just like in this video I feel that the GameCube looks slightly better than wii, WTF NINTENDO
For those who says this game needs a remake: Nintendo already did with the original Gamecube version with the Metroid Prime: Trilogy. Well, not actual a remake but it use the motion control over the gamepad. And some of the graphics and animation is slightly different.

@@thaneros that doesnt matter. On gamecube the better games came out. Also the pad was better. GC was betweem xbox and ps in that epoche. Wii was a very special but uncool console with too much family- and childish games...
@@TheRmaster86 Everything you said can be applied to the Wii. Damn near every game had Gamecube controller support. The Wii own library was very diverse but you had to look pass all the mainstream garbage.
@@thaneros Melee was better than brawl, double dash better than mk wii, mario sunshine (imo) better than galaxy, there was fzero, starwars, resident evil 0, resident evil 4, windwaker, twilight princess (both so much better than skyward sword imo!) wave race, 1080, viewtifull joe, starwars, eternal darkness, starfox adventures and so much more brilliant games released on gamecube. That you can play all these games on wii doesnt count for me. Wii was not that bad. But gc was for me definitly better and was in the same league like ps2 and xbox.
@@Dash120z brawl better than melee? How old are you? Mario sunshine or galaxy, i prefere sunshine cause i didnt liked the planet system in galaxy. Metroid prime came first for gamecube. Silent hill and goldeneye for wii top games? Really? Go and watch ranking, which mariokart is prefered between double dash and wii. As i told you, backward compability doesnt count for me. The Wii also had some good games. But gamecube was a console with good graphics and superb games in this time, the Wii was... mmmmh... im saying "special".
It´s essentially the same, exept for some missing particle effects. Same textures, same models, same framerate. I guess the Wii version has an advantage because it has faster loading times (supposedly), supports a 16:9 aspect ratio natively and you can run it on a Wii U through HDMI.
@@coramunro95 that's true though. I own both versions of the game but I always find myself replaying the original Game Cube version while the Wii version and It's motion controls are more of a novelty than anything else. I remember a lot of people conplaining about the controls in both Prime 1 and 2 for the Game Cube because they don't have the standard console FPS control scheme. (Strafing with the left stick, aiming with the right one, shooting with the R trigger.) But I personally love how they feel. It's like first person Legend of Zelda in a way.
Both ran 720p except the wii u was stronger all around because it had sufficient space for cooling components and that means the cpu can risk being hotter.
I am genuinely curious why some of the effects were dropped for the Wii version. We got true 16:9 with full screen (no black bars), and they added bloom lighting to the light sources, but in exchange they got rid of most of the dynamic visual elements. No more heat trails from the gun, no more ripples on water, no more ice beam coating objects in ice. I can't imagine it was a performance issue, the Wii was more powerful than the GCN (albeit only slightly). And all those effects have been added back into the Remastered version.
Gamecube looks better... higher pixel density running 480p in a 3:4 aspect ratio rather than 16:9 which stretches out the pixels to fill the screen. The game scales accordingly for widescreen but it's still the same amount of pixels spread over a bigger area which leads to more jaggies and blurry looking graphics. That being said if you own a Wii/WiiU you're doing yourself a disservice not owning the trilogy on one disc.
The game is Cross-Gen, like The Legend Of Zelda Breath Of The Wild that launched for Wii U and Switch, so the graphics are the same, now compare Super Mario Sunshine with Super Mario Galaxy, Mario Kart Double Dash with Mario Kart Wii, and so on ...
Wii: Better control. In gamecube is nice to see a game that use every single button, but wii aim works so well I can't go back to gamecube. Gamecube: visual effects. They both are on pair, but the water visual and charge beams are quite nice to see in gamecube, they were removed in wii.
Some improvement. Wii are equal to 2 gamecube. More ram, faster ghz eccecc but they use the same tecnology. This is not a remastered to wii, but a simple port for new controller
no, wii u and switch use different tecnology, thats why is not backward compatibility. wii u use the same chip of wii and GC, swich use a Nvidia tecnology
@@philipuslll sorry, that is not true. You cannot play the Wii versions with the Gamecube controller. Look in the instructions. So you never played with a Gamecube controller.
Its better with controller i mean its the best game that uses wiimote perfectly but with controller im able to spend more time in the game with wiimote after some time i can get tired
@@ZackSNetwork thats quite the misconception about the wii, being an "overclocked gamecube"" well, thats mostly true CPU wise, but not entirely true when it comes to the whole console
Mario Del Rio sadly, I can’t really get dolphin to work, i start up prime trilogy and it is just sooo laggy, and if i go in the game it sometimes just crashes out.
tbh i hated the Wii Version cause the Beam effects were missing. Then the Game looked not really better i mean even the GC Version looked in so many things better. This Rain on Visor effects are gone on Wii, the Water explosion fountain was gone too.
yeah its just an overclocked gamecube. maybe like a 1.5x times stronger than the gamecube. thats why the wii is so small compared to other gen 7 consoles (base models). but even then the ps3 super slim is still double the size of the wii.
@@glungusgongus - They are mods that you can get done to the GameCube and Wii to tap directly into the digital signal of the console to get digital video output through HDMI.
@@glungusgongus - True, but I myself don't have a WiiU and likely never will, so having my GC and Wii HDMI modded gives me the best possible picture from those consoles and they work perfectly on my modern display. Plus, i like to play some games on a specific system.
