The "Kraid's Lair" piece I did back in 2011 was always one of my favourite orchestrations, but I've always felt it was just a bit too short. Here's a bonus track for the week - a rendition of the Metroid Zero Mission version, which is a little bit longer.
It's also a new channel template to match the recently-changed-aesthetics of the Synthetic Orchestra! Like the new one? Prefer the old one? Let me know what you think in the comments!

@@xJC4Rx I am not sure whether EducateYourself was specifically alluding to this, but the Infamous Basement theme from RE1 DC was given an experimental change in sound by Agent-RedJackal. In the video titled “Resident Evil DC- Basement Music Fix/Rehash”, the guy managed to turn the song into a far creepier tune, just by changing the instruments.

Kraid was going to get into Metroid Prime but he was scrapped for time. Sadly, he hasn't appeared since except for Zero Mission due to it being a remake. Ridley went on to become the Commander while poor Kraid was snubbed when he was once equal to Ridley.

Focus it on Samus' childhood, when her parents die to Ridley and she's raised by the Chozo. Don't focus too much on her bounty hunter exploits, the movie should delve into subject matter that wouldn't make for a good game.

Zero Mission was one of the first games that I ever owned. I still feel it has one of the best soundtracks of all time especially for a GBA game!

Then we have something in common! This game was so scary for me, i played it way less than my parents would actually allow me. Sometimes i caught myself wandering in always the same corridors, that i already cleared, because i was too afraid of approaching some hidden beast lurking in the walls. 😂 That were good times..

While I do enjoy this, I prefer a more broodier and somber rendition. This version mixes both where the main theme is very lively and frantic, like a finale. This fits well if it plays when Samus is actually fighting Kraid, but I can’t imagine it when she’s exploring lower Brinstar.

It's the opposite story with Ridleys theme. It's slower pace and long piano segments sound like Ridley is stalking Samus, and the bombastic sections are when he appears only to be fought off. It feels like the *build up* to the actual fight, which I don't think works in its favour. That being said, those bombastic sections are my favourite rendition of any Ridley theme, and I wish the rest of it was more like them

The return of a classic, thanks for extending it! The new template looks great. I like the "twinkling" effect you have on the stars. It's very subtle, perhaps a little too subtle. Maybe you could make that effect stand out a tad more? Just a thought. Excellent work!

The best orchestral arrangement I heard of Metroid themes are here on that channel! Great production too (programming, mix...)! I started a complete Metroid NES album a long time ago. I should finish it! I get a great source of inspiration here. My album would be a mix of orchestra and organic synth with some of the original chiptune sounds hide (layered) in the textures for the nostalgia side. :D Good work!!

Your voice and choir sets are stunning! I'm sure a lot of work goes into getting them to sound the way they do but I'd love to know what set(s) in particular you used between 27 and 40 seconds that creates the chanting and between 1:31-1:36 that resembles the choirs in some of Dany Elfmans compositions? I've had some good luck with Synthway Magnus for backing choir parts but haven't been able to make anything I've tried work for chants and solo choir parts. I'm assuming it's some combination of samples and a plug in?

First time poster, Long time Listener Hopefully you Can answer My 3 Questions, iam also interested in Creating sound scores for Games and Films as well and i was wondering Question 1 which VST's would you recommend for a newbie like me? Question 2 How do You get your Mix to sound so GREAT? cause i use Izotope Ozone 5 for my Beats as well the Mixing stuff from PSP and Last Question What other Knowledge will i need to know For Sound Scores or am i overthinking this ?, obviously this type of music is different from the Hip hop and common industrial sound of today Thanks to those who read this and i would love to see your feedback.
