Noel looked great here, age didn't dampen that smile. Rest in peace Noel Neill. And can I say that dude in the Superman outfit looks fantastic! He doesn't look like some random guy wearing the outfit he really looks like Superman! Love it!

Gee, whoever is portraying Superman looks really good, too!

I had tears in my eyes, watching this....I'm 70 years old, and watched Superman as a young child. Thanks for posting this.

Imagine the thrill for the 50s classic owner, bet they never imagined seeing her sitting in that interior when they acquired it.

Noel Neill was sooo lovely, snd a classy woman, too.

Superman was so gentle with her as he escorted her.

I'm 74 now. This means so much to my brothers and me, as we loved Superman and especially Noel.

Noel Neill and Phyllis Coates the first Lois on the tv show both had longevity , Phillis just passed in October 2023 at 96 .

With a lump in my throat I watched Superman help her out of the car and it took me back many years to rushing home after school to watch this show in the afternoons. Thank you so much for the tribute to this great woman who was an inspiration to so many in an era when journalism was an honorable profession.

Even as a little kid watching Superman I had a thing for Lois Lane I thought she was so pretty and feisty so sure of herself .She has a place in my heart that can't be replaced .I Wish more women were like her the world would be a better place I miss you Lois .

That Superman is awesome! If that guy can act, he should have been playing Superman in movies at this time, or at least TV.

My hope is she knew how much joy she gave to all of us kids that were glued to the TV set on Saturday morning and running around the house with a homemade capes. What a great time to be alive!!

Several years ago at a comic book convention in Los Angeles I had the honor of holding the door for Noel Neill as she exited the building. May not seem like much but as a fan of hers and Superman since childhood, it was a delight for me. She even looked right at me, smiled, and said thank you. Truly an awesome lady

Every time I see someone dressed as Superman doing something nice for someone or helping someone out... it really makes me believe for a second that Superman is real. That’s the power and the magic that Superman has for me.

She was a real beauty on the outside but she was also humble about herself. All the way to her senior years! Even in this footage she was ‘Lois’. Mission accomplished Noel.

Back in the early 1980's I worked for Ben Franklin Stores. I was a truck driver for Ben Franklin for 18 years.There was a big Ben Franklin store in Metropolis Illinois. I delivered that store several times. They were wonderful people and the whole town was into this celebration . Good memories of when I was a young man.

She always seemed 2 be one of the happiest people in the world. Always had a smile on her face.

Metropolis Illinois. Located at the very tip of southern Ill. Across the river from Paducah Kentucky. My fathers' side of the family is from there and the surrounding area. My Dad was actually born in Brookport, just upriver from there in 1920. Grandpa used to run liquor across the river from Ken. in a boat then truck it up to Chicago during prohibition. Pretty area from what I remember of it. Been a very long time since I was there. Noticed this in my queue so I dropped in. The Superman series kind of put them on the map and I think they have always been appreciative of that. Bless Noel Neill for making the effort to be there for the celebration. Okay, I'm done. I met her in person about 40 years ago. I still have the autographed picture with her standing next to Superman.

Very nice video. By 2010, there had been a bunch of Lois Lanes...some better than others, but Metropolis, Illinois picked THE BEST Lois Lane to honor with that statue...we'll always remember and love Noel Neill.

She was a very special person and it is nice to see the number of fans that turned out for this dedication ceremony. I used to watch “The Adventures of Superman” as a young boy every week on TV and Noel was in practically every episode since it seemed Lois and Jimmy always needed rescuing by Superman. I don’t imagine she ever thought at the time she was making the series that it would be remembered so many years later. Now they are all home in Metropolis at the Daily Planet and forever in our hearts.

Got out of school at 3:20 lived a mile away but I always made it in time for Superman. I was in 5th grade.

Am I the only young person here? I am so glad I stumbled on her 'old' Superman show. One of my favorite Superman shows, possibly my favorite live-action one.

I'm 60 and I grew up watching Noel Neill in The Adventures of Superman, which ran in syndication on WGN TV Chicago throughout the 1960s. This bring tears to my eyes.

Felt like a mini-Hollywood moment; a throwback to the golden era of actors and actresses. Ms. Neil was as charming as ever. Thank you, for this. It was beautiful.

I had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Neill at the San Diego Comic-Con a few years back. She packed the room and got a standing ovation. She was a classy and fascinating lady.

At 64, I watched the Superman tv show..."The Adventures of Superman"...as a boy. Never missed an episode. SHE is the definitive Lois Lane to me. R.I.P., ma'am 💙

I had the great pleasure of meeting Noel soon after her role in "Superman Returns". She graciously autographed my copy of the Adventures of Superman collection, and smiled kindly as I gushed like a five year old kid about my love of the series and especially Jack Larson, George Reeves, and her. What a wonderful lady.

I had no idea that they had a statue of her there. That’s great! She deserves it. Rest in peace Noel Neill and thank you.

In Memory of Noel Niell - 25th November 1920 to 3rd July 2016. Lovely seeing her so much energetic and engaging with a good sense of gratitude and humor. I never saw this show & cast but I came to know & feel the vibes about the lovely & decent show that used to be famous back then & still in the hearts of many who saw it till the 80's to 90's. Well...i was born in 1993 & did not see those shows but I did see the superman movies of 80's and 90's and i really liked them on the VCD Player of Sony in 2004. She so much reminds me of my mother. Thankfully I still have my mother., but they look so similar. I'm so glad Noel lived to see this moment where she was further immortalized! I still love that old series she was on. She was my favorite Lois Lane.

God bless Noel Neill I admired her when I was a kid watching the Superman reruns on channel 11 in New York and to know that my dad used to work out with George Reeves and Chip Deitch on top of the Broadway Brooklyn roof where the gym was it's just an honor to know her and to see a beautiful blessing that she should rightfully have God bless Noel Neill

I'm 58 years old. I live in Ohio As a lifelong fan of Clark and Lois... It is a dream to someday visit the real Metropolis.

I too, grew up in the 50's. Superman was my first hero. Indeed I remember not getting more than three channels. Sometimes the channel that Superman came on would not come in clear but I still stood as close to the T.V. as I could and would strain to watch it. Noel Neil was a better Lois Lane than anyone since.

And Superman there was most excellent too. Very nice touch,

I grew up in southern Illinois and pretty much left in 1962. I don't remember ever being in Metropolis, but I'm happy that they were able to latch onto the Superman story and build upon it. We grow old. We die. This was a lovely tribute.

Superman was a big part of my childhood. I remember running around the neighborhood with a cape attached to my back thinking I could fly. TV has changed so much from the 1950's to now in 2021. Noel played the part of Lois Lane perfectly. There was always a mystery between Superman and Lois Lane. She thought she knew the truth, but never could quite prove it.

It is so wonderful to see Noel Neill honored in this way for all time. I cherish the memory of when she came to my college in 1975 on a lecture tour about Superman. We all read and played parts from the script from the 1950s series and I played the Clark Kent part. More fun was just hanging out with her and talking with a small group for hours afterwards asking all sorts of questions. She was so much fun to be with and was one of the most wonderful human beings I've ever met. God bless her.

I was a big fan of Superman on TV and watched the show every chance I got. I remember how sad I was when I heard Superman had died. I was just a boy, so there was a fine line between fantasy and reality at that point in my life. The characters were sort of real to me.
