Vehicles from the Metropolitan Police Roads Policing Unit, escorting a Royal Air Force "Aeromedical Ambulance" and a Emergency Ambulance from South Central Ambulance Service into the Royal Free Hospital in northwest London.
The patient being escorted is a British Healthcare worker who contracted Ebola while working in Sierra Leone. 4 additional healthcare workers also contracted Ebola, 2 of them are believed to have arrived on the same plane as the one seen being escorted in this video, the other 2 remain in Sierra Leone. The patient in this video is being treated at a special high-level isolation unit at the Royal Free Hospital.

Some people asked why so many police escorted vehicle. There are two main reasons. One and most obviously, the patient is very ill. Second, the patient is a living biological weapon. Hoping he/she recovered.

You don't need sirens - just use the loud speaker and shout "Ebola" - I can guarantee that the traffic will move!! Update - I am a doctor with extensive aeromedical experience, hence my suggestion as to what to do to enable a smooth ride!! I have actually refused to transport an Ebola patient from Kenya to S Africa (where I was based) purely because the logistics of equipping pilots with Hazmat suits were too complex at that time (late 1990s) - in addition, it is almost impossible to safely isolate a patient who is on life support - the ‘isolation’ pods are not geared for things such as artificial ventilation of the patient.

Consider the fact our country is a laughing stock of Europe... our emergency services is a joke. If an every day person needed an ambulance, there's no escort at all - so everyone else should be treated the same way. I watched alot of videos where the ambulance take a car crash victim to hospital - why aren't they escorted? Literally, doesn't make any sense. Even the PM and the rich abuse escorts too just to get from A to B and cause even more traffic, instead of being patient like everyone else.

@MASTERJJ1995
@MASTERJJ1995 3 года назад
@@jamesevans938 If it were the SEG, you would know by their white bikes and Glocks on the hip. The SEG or SO14 are used specifically for high risk VIPs and are a very small group of highly trained armed officers. The "rules" are they are *only* used for VIPs that are highly likely to be attacked and only if they are on public business duties, so Boris can't borrow them for a night out or something. So for this escort, since it's not a VIP nor threat of an attack, it is definitely not a job for SEG. The bikes that SEG uses have full police equipment too, they have sirens but they opt for whistles to avoid noise pollution of the VIPs, and to attract peoples attention as sirens may be too common. Hopes this explains it.

the problem is Ebola was first discovered in 1976 and has been heavily studied so when the 2014-2016 outbreak happened it was clear what steps had to be done where as with covid at the start we knew very little about covid so it wasn't clear how bad it was until it became a pandemic and once its a pandemic unless you shutdown everything to stop it spreading which would be a death sentence to the economy which is why countries put a number to how much a life is worth so they can calculate the cost of death vs the cost of the damage to economy such as if the cost of the deaths is higher than the cost of the damage to the economy it would make sense to shut everything down where as if the cost of the damage to the economy is more than the cost of the death then shutting everything down doesn't make sense

How does the person filming this know the subject is an ebola patient?
@750joshua

Was on the news numerous times, before they even got to the UK. Also, the Aeromedical Evacuation kinda gives it away, they deal with a lot of highly infectious tropical diseases.

I wonder what Trump would have done, probably made them take the bus or would have said it was a hoax.

This was Ebola at the time. It was filmed at the same time that the news reported the arrival of an Ebola patient to the UK.

The thing with convoys, is that it's important to balance not going too fast and not going too slow. This is so that all the vehicles stay with the convoy and that the bikes can leapfrog the convoy to stop traffic from the next junctions.

Because you never know what kind of sick freak would break the ebola patient out, take some bodily fluids and infect half the country.
