What a season for the Mets!! As a Braves fan all injury talk aside the Mets have done what they needed to do to be in the drivers seat for a wild card. The Mets could actually clinch the wild card in Atlanta on their rivalry territory. Pay back for 2022 Mets collapse.

You talk a lot about Blackburn.......i don't know why you're sold on him. He had a miserable outing before his injury. He doesn't have velocity and has struggled with his control. There's plenty of ways to use Quintana.... Megiill.... and even possibly Senga. I personally don't care much for the addition of Blackburn and i think if he were to implode it may destroy the vibe. Remember.....he didn't go through the pain and misery the team endured early on and..... therefore.....it wouldn't be good if he were the one to cost them dearly from here on out.

They check everyone. It's kinda dumb for you to try to imply he's on performance drugs simply because he's amazing? Do you ask if Judge has been tested for performance drugs? Ohtani is well built and muscular. Makes me you you're just being rac1st to assume he'd need drugs to do this well. BTW japanese are very honorable especially to the game of baseball, they worship it and would never cheat the game like us Americans would. You're one of the that make us look bad.

@@Heybrotruthhurts Anyone "overperforming" should be tested. You're obviously a youngin'. Performance drugs were a real issue in sports years ago. Also, you want to bring "honorable" into the picture. How honorable is gambling? And please don't tell the world Ohtani had no idea. There is no way any bank is going to do money transfers of that magnitude without the account holder being notified. That story was swept under the rug fast. As they say, "Money talks." For the record, Alvie didn’t beat out the ground ball to stay out of the double play. Rather than flipping to Turner, Stott made a terrible decision to take the ball to the bag himself and throw cross-body to first, which pulled Bryce (WILPONS WHY YOU SO CHEAP HE SHOULD BE A MET SO SHOULD WHEELER) off the bag. Unrelated side note: Jason Benetti is a fantastic play-by-play announcer. Makes having to listen to Old Cloud Yeller Smoltz so much more palatable.

I checked odds last night / if u took Ohtani to have 2 HR/ dodgers -1.5 / over 8.5 it paid $100k for every $1k bet!! $5k paid $477k !!!!! Lmao. Shoulda seen it coming. Even Ohtani with 1 HR and dodgers over paid $44k to $1k!!!! Idk how I didn’t do that… knew it was coming. Coulda bet Ohtani 1 Hr with dodgers win and over all for last week. SMH. D-backs and Padres finishing the season against each other could end up being really important to the bottom line. I have a feeling this is going to be a nail-biter of a finish. And I keep thinking about this: TWO NL teams made the playoffs last year with only 84 wins. The Mets already have 85 wins with 9 to play, and yet they are in a death-struggle for the post-season.

I think during Vientos's recent slump he was just trying too hard to hit a HR every time up. Seems like that line drive RBI single the other night kind of settled him. His HR in this game was a line drive too. And his second RBI hit in this game was a hard-hit ball right up the middle. I think he's back to hitting and then letting the HRs come. I believe he'll be fine.

Loving meaningful September games especially after the early part of the season but pardon me if I don't get too excited about the post season. There's a better chance than not they blow it. Bullpen isn’t a problem, trying to steal out with Danny Young is the problem. Danny Young is the type of guy who can’t pitch in big games no matter how safe you think the lead is.

Phrased another way: Danny Young IS the Mets' bullpen problem. You always need at least one righty and one lefty you can trust in your bullpen. At least. And Young is in fact supposed to he the lefty you can trust, but I never felt great about him, no matter how good his numbers looked. The Mets have very often overlooked the importance of having a lefty in the bullpen during my lifetime. Aaron Loup and Justin Wilson being the exceptions

Man Mets fans are so fickle. Danny Young has had a fine season for a back of the bullpen guy. A couple bad recent outings against probably the best team in baseball does not suddenly make the rest of the season a wash.

Here is the facts of his season. He has had two great prolonged stretches and two short terrible stretches. Called up April 28th (Start of mid length good strech) May 2nd-May 3rd: 3 IP over two outings 0 ER Optioned till May 30th May 30th - June 13th: 6 IP over 7 outings 1 ER (End of mid length good stretch 1.0 ERA over 9 innings) Optioned till June 22nd June 22nd till June 30th: 3.1 IP over 4 outings 6ER (short bad stretch number 1) Optioned till July 10th (Start of prolonged great stretch) July 10th till September 7th: 21 IP over 21 outings 3ER (1.29 ERA) (Start of short bad stretch) September 9th- now: 1.1 IP over 4 outings 7 ER Totals to a 4.41 ERA over 34.2 innings in 38 outings. Certainly not the best but good enough for a back end guy.

The rule that has a reliever face at three batters unless the inning ends is a big problem for the Mets...Young looked overwhelmed last night as the bullpen is the weakest link of this team.. again I thought Mendez pulled his starter too early and even though they had a big lead at the time and anyone who wasn't a little nervous during the seventh and eighth inning probably hasn't watched these guys self destruct numerous times in the past.. they have to play every game like it's their last because there isn't any room for error.. this team is awesome to watch and no matter what they really done a good job of turning this season around

The METS are fighting hard to get into the playoffs and only 35,000 fans show up? THAT'S PITIFUL!! If ithad bern at old SHEA you would have had between 45,000 to 50, fans at the park. As a matter of fact, the fans from the 80's, 1999, 2000, 2006 and 2015 were more loyal than today's METS' fans.😢😢

@@LoadedKlip It sure is. The player salaries have driven up what it costs to attend a game. I went down last summer to see a subway series game against the Stankees and couldn't get over how freaking expensive everything is. I'm not poor but the travel costs,ticket prices and vending has all become unaffordable for many folks. Just consider what a family of 4 have to shell out to see a freaking baseball game. Then the kiddies will be bugging Dad to buy hats, pennants and the like. I go to see the Syracuse AAA Mets because it only an hour away and even there it's getting too pricey.
