How do you use a Mevo camera and what are some of the mistakes that we've made?

Hi, Do you have this quality of the video while livestreaming? I think you're saving the video in a memory card. The problem that we're experiencing right at my church is that we zoom from a distance of 10 meters. And the quality in the Livestream is not as good as the one from this video

We use an old mic stand that we had laying around and it works just fine for us. However, Mevo does offer an official tripod for around $100 on their website.

Just got a Mevo. I'm looking for Mic suggestions for livestreaming? We are using Playback on an iPad through our sound system, and I am still using a mic while speaking. We had to use my cellphone mic while streaming and recording. It was better than the open air mic on the camera.

thinking about buying a mevo start for the church . how far from the pulpit can the camera be to get a good shot, and if the MEVO is not the write camera , what is ?

The MEVO has a round, "fisheye" lens, similar to other popular cameras like the GoPro. However, when you zoom in using the MEVO, you cannot tell that the lens is what some people describe as distorted.

No, the lens is permanently attached. However, when you zoom in (like during most of this video), you can't tell that the lens is fisheye.

Just bought a preowned but basically unused MEVO Plus ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nhDZPlKNcr8.html and this thing is amazing. Still getting used to the interface and I’m a bit disappointed that with the cost of the device in order to simultaneously stream to multiple platforms one needs to buy an additional subscription plan, nevertheless I would say that this is probably one of the most advanced video streaming cameras on the market today!

I use it for live streaming for about 3 months. See it live here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1EFrCZFHdOQ.html . On the + side: kind of works, app crashes from time to time but overall it works. What i don't like is the price for multiple streaming on all platforms. It requires a 200$/year subscription. That's almost the price of the camera. i would also like the ability to use the sd card as a source for background sound. Just select a wave, mp3 file whatever instead of having to plug in a mp3 player or phone for music.

yes and no, you need the livestream studio software but it's very limited with the mevo camera.

@@churchcheapskates9586 thank you for this helpful video. RE: audio There's tons to learn, but the short is pretty simple, you want to get a good mic as close as possible to the source. The problem with on-site recordings is that you can't control the environment, so there are unwanted noises, and tons of unwanted reverb from the room, that's just the way audio works. The easiest and most effective solution is to simply get closer to your subject so the wanted audio is louder, making the unwanted audio (reverb, noise) disappear in the background. Usually you get the best audio within 1 foot of the subject's mouth. You may think that's not doable, but that's why people use lav mics in pro recordings (1 foot from the subjects mouth). If you can't use a lav on the subject, something of equal quality is a boom mic 3 feet from the subject. This is how it's done when you don't want lavs in the shot, and this is why there's a boom operator usually holding the mic above the subject just off camera, trying to stay no more than 3 feet away. At 4 feet and beyond you start hearing all that unwanted reverb and noise again. So, in short, get an appropriate mic for the task, and get it as close as you can to the source.
