As a Mexican, I think you can take this to another level with a quick salsa, tomatoe or tomatillo based would both be great, (red or green). By the way, don't let any mexican Purtians discourage you, I like the idea!
@@lindalarsson1436Substitute ground chicken , shred your own cheese ( it’s healthier with less chemicals ), and use more beans. Canned beans r cheap at the dollar store.

My mom used to make this when I was a kid. She also added sour cream and salsa to the layers. It was sooo good, haven’t had it in years! Might need to make this myself now

Shit I’m black and I’m judging the hell out of this. Where’s the carne asada? Onions and cilantro? This is like a Taco Bell version of a Mexican lasagna so hard pass. The frijoles weren’t frijole-ing 😂😂😂😂😂
I've made this before, without beans(which looks like a good idea to add), but I did add salsa to layers and had sour cream on the side. Tasted good and people enjoyed it

I’d have added a bit of enchilada sauce to the layers and some diced tomatoes and maybe some onion!!!!! We used to call this Taco Bake I believe lol but imma be making this for the boys this weekend thank you 🙏 ❤😊
No corn no corn why we even debating pineapples on pizza when canned corn is the most unnecessary ingredient ever. Outlaw ban canned corn from my food no no. You ruin it with the corn. I gotta pick them out now

I already made it, it is delicious. Also I made the "No Meat Style"... cooked and drained black beans, drained yellow corn, chopped onions, cilantro, tomatoes and garlic, pinch of salt, pepper, and chile de arbol powder. Cook it in a pan with 2 tbsp of olive oil until onion is caramelized. Arrange the lasagne as shown in the video. Bon appetite!

I mentioned being black to emphasize that I am in no way shape or form qualified to judge what is good Mexican food, and what is not, hence why I want a Mexican Grandmother or Mexican in general to approve before I would try something claiming to be a Mexican dish even if it’s a pseudo Mexican dish. If this was an Italian dish, I would consult a Italian, Indian, I would consult an Indian. I want to know what they think since this is their cuisine. I’ve always been like this, and it’s served me well thus far.

I made this w/out the beans(cuz I HATE beans) but I added sourcream and Rotel alternating layers. It was ten times BETTER than regular lasagna. It's NOW added to my weekly schedule. BOMB!!!❤
I’m not Mexican but I am Mexican American cause mexico would indicate I was born on Mexican soil that I wasn’t but I am a fkn beaner to anyone who’s white but I too attest to the recipe and it lookspret delicious that ima run to the store and copycat this recipe. I would keep the beans and do spinach or green peppers too. Beans are healthy. They have fiber and protein. Americans are so deficient in fiber. Keep the beans. They are a wonderful clean, nutritious carb. Very different from carbs like bread, donuts, cookies Beans will not make u gain weight.
They have spinach flour tortillas nowadays idk if they’re gmo though I’m assuming it’s gmo and if you’re store has natural spinach tortillas with little to no processing I’m willing to bet it isn’t cheap. It can get expensive trying to eat healthy

My mom made something similar with corn tortillas, enchilada sauce (homemade if she was feelin it), chicken, olives, and onions. Lightly fry the tortillas in the sauce before assembling too, soooo good. I call it LA Mexican, and love it to this day 🤤
Mexicans got mad at Salvadorans for making a pu-taco ( papusa taco ) and people make Mexican lasagna- and I don’t see Italians getting mad or Mexicans saying we shouldn’t do this cause it’s Italian and we shouldn’t mix. We all human, let’s all share love and create more beauty in this world.
Enchiladas, being rolled up, definitely will hold up better than this so-called Mexican lasagna. What I mean is, while it looks good when served I'm sure it's quickly going to look like a mess on your plate when the filling immediately begins pushing out in different directions, once you dig in. That, of course, won't happen with enchiladas.
