Video footage shows intense chase during a gun battle with the Mexican military in the northeastern state of Tamaulipas near the border with Texas on Friday.
Local media outlets reported a convoy from the Mexican Army's 16th Motorized Cavalry was met with fire approximately at 3am local time by members of the Tropa del Infierno [Inferno Troop], a hit squad tied to the Cártel del Noreste [Northeast Cartel].
The gun battle took place on a road in the Nuevo Laredo neighborhood of Fresnos, a 10-mile drive from the Juárez-Lincoln International Bridge, which connects the United States and Mexico over the Rio Grande.
Army officials did not report any casualties or injuries on their part following the war-like battle. At least three military vehicles were damaged in the attack.
Soldiers recovered 12 assault rifles, including two Barrett .50 caliber sniper rifles and eight AR-15 rifles.

No civilians at that hour in a dangerous city like Nuevo Laredo. It's very common for the sicarios to lift their wounded comrades and run of the battle, they just throw the bodies in a hospital and run. And for the medical personel, they are obligated to bring attention to the criminals. CNDH proctects this guys (sicarios) like no other.

Some US politicians say that Mexico is not doing its part to combat drug trafficking. Well, while the Mexican military and police put up their lives, American drug users put their dollars into their vice, and the US government provides weapons to the Mexican cartels. There is no US drug lord detained in that country. Whoever is understood, let him understand.

Hard to believe Mexico is doing its part or doing enough when the Mexican president denied the cartels are seizing the avocado industry or when you look at the situation with the Nahua people in Guerrero as well as other people/places where the cartels run free, and the people get no help from the authorities or the Gov. Of course, there are many good parts and people of Mexico as well as Mexico as a country who are putting in good work, but that doesn't always mean Mexico as a country is doing enough. Also, it's disingenuous to say it's the US Gov. “providing” weapons to the cartels. No one says it's the Mexican Gov. flooding America with drugs even when it's common knowledge that the Mexican Gov. is pretty damn corrupt. At most, some will say the drugs are coming from Mexico or say, but that's it.

In the original video you can see that he immediately picks up his gun again and starts shooting. Another military truck arrives from behind the pickup and the sandacat (our Mexican humvie) melts the occupants of the pickup. You can heard a soldier saying, "there is one alive" and the others yell "kill him"

I wish but the only way to end the drug war is to legalize all drugs in the us and regulate and tax it. Prohibition never works like during alcohol prohibition. Criminalizing drugs is a political/financial act, not for the good of the people
