A random person purchased some of this in a cup for me once when i visited Texas. I was standing behind this woman in line for a mexican food cart and discussed with my sister how i wanted to try this. She muat have overheard our chat, then turned and handed me a cup and said, "This is for you. It's a sin to have never tried this stuff. Have fun!" Afterwards, I thanked her and she went about her business. I took a single bite and this happened: 😍😍😍😍😛😛😛😍😍😍😍
What an awesome act of kindness. Thanks for sharing your story. It’s hard not to crave it after having it the first time. The best part is that now you can make it yourself 😊. Thanks for watching and enjoy! 😋
Bruh I put my corn in a pot of boiled water, let it boil for 10 minutes and I spread mayo, cheese, lemon, and pepper I forgot what it's called but it's what makes it spicy
Yes, KAREN! Most of us know this already. If you’ve watched any of my other videos, you will learn this. For some it’s just a habit to call it butter. Thanks for watching! Have a great positive day!
Hello Mrs. H. I do have an instagram but it was mostly to check up on my teens lol. I don't really go in there much at all. As soon as I get it set up for my channel, I'll be sure to share.
Gracias.
Aww! Make sure you take care of yourself first so you can later enjoy this. If you’re having a baby shower, this would actually be great to serve in small appetizer cups, too! Congratulations on your baby! Btw, I also have a Diaper cake tutorial if interested. I’ll post the link ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Lrizzhw6R0I.html.
When I had elote on the cob a few years ago, for the first time, I fell in love with it! I love tajin on it. I have had it in a cup once. They made it with canned corn, definitely needs frozen or fresh! Yours looks so good. Thanks for sharing! -Char
Thanks, Char! It’s one of those snacks I crave time and time again. I have another similar dish but on a skillet. Be sure and check it out when you get a chance. Definitely a family favorite. Thanks for watching and taking time to comment.
That one good thing about chicago they sell these things on the street I remember eating them As a kid but not on a cup but from Corn in a stick BTW they are good and delicious
You can replace the bag of corn for a can of corn and just use the water of the can preferably La Costeña brand, it's a red can that is popular for their canned nacho jalapeños
-You can grate or shred the block of cheese. -Take plain yogurt and add a little bit of lime and mix. In place of crema. -Use any soft butter or margarine. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching!
I had it at the taco truck the other day $4 a çup it was bomb . I actually got the mayo can corn lime juice and parmesan cheese at the home now and I think I got some tapatio
Welcome, Edward! That snack always makes me crave more. Looks like you have most of the Ingredients. Don’t forget the butter, crema and chili powder. Enjoy and thanks for watching! 😊
hi! thanks for your recipe. in Indonesia we call it Jasuke. we like it to be more sweet instead of spicy so we add condensed milk 😄 however, this recipe can be a great variation of corn in a cup as snack. definitely I want to try it!
Hello Nadia! It’s great to hear from Indonesia. I hope you like it! It’s definitely a favorite here. I’m going to have to also give the condensed milk a try. 👍🏼😃
The one she’s making is called esquite a Mexican street food/snack. They also have it on the cob called elotes locos or crazy corn lol. I would say to try it especially if you like spicy foods. Some people will even add hot cheetos. It’s really delicious 🤤
Those thumb downs are haters or bots! I followed your way and it is 'all good' the street vendors don't fix it this good we get 1 layer only! Thank You, Rose!
Lol Adding hot Cheetos is just another way you can make and enjoy it. I personally am not a fan of hot Cheetos. A little too spicy for me and it triggers my heart burn. Make it to your liking! Enjoy and thanks for watching!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! I like a little bit of spiciness but too much kills me. I’m Hispanic, too and probably the only one in my family that can’t take it as hot! Pica! 😂
Ummm original authentic elote is not made with Hot Cheetos. That’s a modern twist on the original take. How you gonna say you Hispanic then say this? 🤨 I smell lies
Welcome, Lashawna! It really depends on your taste buds. For this recipe, I personally like using either roasted corn on the cob or frozen super sweet corn. You can use either. I don’t necessarily care for the one in the can. I would say give the other two a try. Thanks for watching!
@@RoseOatley Oh, I watched it! I just wanted to get a better understanding of which option was better for the dish. Why do you prefer the table cream? I haven't made this yet but I want it to be just right! Haha. And I was so confused when I saw the two cremas at the store! Wasn't sure which one to get. I got the sour cream version, but turns out it was expired so I need to buy a new one and wasn't sure if I should switch to the table cream version.
The Sour cream is thicker and more acidic. The table cream which I like has a runnier consistency. It’s neutral and enhances rather than overwhelms the flavor. You can use either but I personally prefer the table cream. Hope this helps!
It’s really going to depend on what size bag of corn you’re using and the size of your cup. The corn usually come in a 12oz, 16, 40 & 80 oz. I like using 16 oz. cups but they do make some smaller and larger. You can first start by deciding what size oz cup you want then figure out how many oz of corn you’ll need. Just keep in mind you have your toppings so you can subtract a couple of ounces of corn. Thanks for watching!
I bet that hot sauce was great. But, I don't think they make it anymore. I looked all day. And never found it. I tried to order it from Amazon. They don't have it. E-bay don't have it. I'm bummed out.
Why can't you mix everything together and just top with cheese and spice? Why layer it if the first thing you do is mix it up as soon as your ready to eat it?
Not necessarily to me. I personally like it layered. If you’re adding the same stuff, then it would be the same amount of steps. You can make it however you like it. That’s the beauty of cooking for yourself. Cook away and have yourself a great, positive day! 😊
@@magdalenapinedo9976 Y’all nasty. It’s meant to be layered, not a cake batter. Y’all so damn lazy. Can’t just later the damn elote, the same way you layer it on the cob.
It's called an elote preparado 😂 not a corn street cup! Idk what's up with white people calling our food "street" food. Smh its a damn taco not a street taco!
Magz, where I come from and in my own channel, I can pretty much call it what I want. That’s the beauty of cooking your own food 😉. Have yourself a great positive day! Sincerely, A Hispanic woman
Amando, as stated in my video you’re free to use roasted corn on the cob instead, if preferred. I chose frozen corn that day which works just as fine for me. That’s the beauty of cooking your own meals. You choose what you like. Thanks for stopping by! Have a blessed and positive day!
I was just messing around. I actually ment to add a "lol" at the end. Thank you for the video. It actually motivated me to get up and go to the store. I had come corn on the cob as a side for dinner 👍
Armando Acosta this is supposed to be dorm friendly Using frozen is easier and faster Thought corn in the cob does taste a bit better Frozen corn is still good too
You put a lot more butter than you needed to and you didn’t add any Chile lime salt or any of the traditional ingredients but i actually tried your recipe and it’s was pretty good aside from the amount of butter and not enough flavor
@@brazygt9368 I didn't put Chile lime salt because I used the real stuff (fresh lime). I also like a good amount of butter on mine. You can add as little or as much as you want. You can make it to your liking. That's the beauty of making your own recipe. Have a great positive day!
No. The Crema Mexicana has a different texture and flavor than sour cream. I get the table cream not sour cream. All the ingredients mixed together create a yummy flavor. 😊
Absolutely! You sure can. Although, I will say there’s something about that squeezable butter that makes it so much better. Enjoy and thanks for watching! 😃
Yes if you’re using regular butter, just put in the microwave for 10 seconds, that way it won’t melt all the way. Part of it will melt and part of it will still be solid, creating the same consistency as the Parkway butter
It’s great to be able to make it yourself. I really hope you enjoy it! Another recipe you may not be able to find there is the Mangonadas. I have a recipe here as well, if interested. Perfect for the summer time! Thanks for watching! 😊. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5ZAVlb-yFok.html
