Having never been to Mexico City, it was high on my list, and all I can say is now it's top of my list.
An incredible place that's well priced with endless things to do and tons of great food.
Highly recommended!
Our friends Gui and Kayla joined us and we made the best of it.
Hope you enjoy!
Part 2 coming this week....!
Big thanks to the Four Seasons hotel for taking care of us.
www.fourseason...
And also Morenita Experience. If you're going there, she'll make sure you're all set. Trust me!
www.morenitaex...
Thanks for watching!

I thought I'd share these. I don't live in Mexico City so I don't know everything there is to do but over the years of visiting I've gotten to know places that I love and remember with joy. They are not listed in any particular order of importance. 1. Viveros Coyoacan - Tree nursery/City park. It is so peaceful and beautiful in this park. Tree canyons in every direction. Great for spending time in blissful greenery. 2. Piramide de Cuicuilco just south of UNAM - Oldest archeological site in the Valley of Mexico dating back to around 800 B.C. - about 2100 years before the Aztecs! 3. Tlatelolco Ruins - Tlatelolco was the site of the biggest market in the Aztec Empire where products from all over Mesoamerica converged to be traded here. The site offers free tours, I'd recommend calling ahead of time to set one up and making the visit that much more worth it. 4. Bar La Opera - Just as tradicional as Cafe Tacuba but with a completely different architectural style and vibe. The woodwork is amazing and really transports you back in time. 5. Bosque de Tlalpan - Another huge and beautiful green space on the South side of the city. About 15mins walking from Metrobus Corregidora L1. 6. Museo de Sitio y Centro de Visitantes del Bosque de Chapultepec - This is a great museum to get to know the history of Bosque de Chapultepec. It was literally dying off in the early 90s from plague and abandonment. Civil society put in action a rescue plan but its history goes way back to Aztec times. 7. Terraza Catedral - Rooftop bar. It has an amazing view with the Metropolitan Cathedral on one side and modern highrises on the other. It's on top of a hostel so the crowd is mainly young travelers and the prices are super accessible. I'd recommend going at sunset. Made me fall hard for Mexico City. 8. Museo Anahuacalli - Museum founded and designed by Diego Rivera showcasing his collection of pre-hispanic art works. The building is a homage to indigenous architecture. 9. Picnic Nocturno en Chapultepec - Done once every month at the park's Botanical Garden. Starts at 8pm but be there early for good spot. Picnic basket available for purchase inside or bring your own food. 10. Lunch at El Mayor - Restaurant with incredible view of Templo Mayor and Cathedral and its not even expensive. 11. Monumental Casa de Emilio Indio Fernandez - Grand mansion in Coyoacan of one of Mexico's most outstanding film producers in the 40s and 50s. Check Facebook for tour times. 12. Vegan Pa' Ca' Taqueria - Vegan taqueria on Insurgentes Avenue claiming its tacos are just as good as real Al Pastor. 13. Museo de Arte Popular - It's a good museum to get an understanding of the country's folk art. 14. Potzollcalli Downtown - Delicious restaurant specializing in pozole. Check out next door Dulceria Celaya for tranditional mexican candy. 15. Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo Work and Art Studio in San Angel 16. Leon Trotsky Museum in Coyoacan - Place where the Soviet revolutionary lived his last couple of years and was eventually assassinated. 17. Museo del Metro at Estacion Mixcoac - Museum dedicated to the history of the metro. It has cool system plans, historical pictures during construction and inauguration, archeological findings etc etc. It's free and tiny so you can do it in about 1 hour. 18. Futura CDMX Interactive Museum in downtown - One of my favorite to get to know the city from a engineering/statistics/historical point of view. They have a huge scale model of the entire city and use it for very interesting presentations at 10am 11am and 12pm. You should also check Regina Street two blocks away. It's a pedestrian street with outdoor restaurants, murals and a young folksy atmosphere. 19. Tour del Teatro Palacio Bellas Artes - Tour of the main theater in the city where they take you backstage, go over its history, architecture etc etc. Arrive at Modulo de Eventos. If I recall correctly it's free. 20. Estadio Azteca soccer match or guided tour - One of the largest stadiums in the world having hosted two FIFA World Cup Finals. 21. Murals of Palacio Bellas Artes Tour - Free guided tour. Arrive at Modulo de Eventos. These murals are very impressive and beautiful but may be hard to understand so this tour puts everything into context. 22. La Ciudadela - Largest arts and crafts market in the city 23. Hanky Panky Speakeasy for delicious cocktails. You enter through a unsuspecting kitchen cabinet door. Get in touch with them through their facebook as you can't enter willy nilly like a regular bar. 24. Monumento a la Revolucion observation deck - Imposing monument remembering the Mexican Revolution. For great food and view of the monument go to Coronela or Terraza Cha Cha Cha. 25. Humanity's March on Earth and Towards the Cosmos mural - World's largest mural by surface area. Check before to see times of guided tours that explain every piece and meaning of this gigantic mural. 26. Lunch or dinner at Gran Hotel Ciudad de Mexico terrace - The best views of el Zocalo. Tiffany glass roof at the lobby is absolutely incredible during the day. 27. Xaman Bar - Great for pre-hispanic cocktails 28. Ballet Folkrico de Amalia Hernandez - Ballet showcasing dances, music and customs across Mexico and from different time periods. Its a beautiful show. Bit pricey but worth every dollar 29. Vestigios Prehispanicos - Tour that takes you underneath the Catedral Metropolitana to show you the Aztec ruins on which it was built. Tour starts at 2pm, arrive 30mins before due to limited space. $60MXN at main gate or west gate 30. Museo Trick Eye at Antara- Recently opened fun museum with optical illusions paintings. Great for just a fun time 31. Jules Basement in Polanco - It was one of the first speakeasys in the city and is one of the best. You enter through an unsuspecting industrial refrigerator door 32. Ex-Convent Desierto de Los Leones - I've never been so maybe you can show us! The setting looks super peaceful packed in the mountain forests in the outskirts. 33. Casa Luis Barragan - The former home and studio of the godfather of Mexican modernism. Great site for architecture aficionados. Classified by UNSECO as a World Heritage Site. 34. "Free" downtown walking tour with Mexico a Pie - tips range between $150MXN to $200MXN. Downtown Mexico City is classified by UNSECO as a World Heritage Site so there's so much history and architecture packed in this district. 35. Tour of National Autonomous University of Mexico main campus - The campus is classified by UNSECO as a World Heritage Site and houses many historic buildings like the Olympic Stadium, central library and others with great architecture and murals. University offers tours starting at 1:00pm. 36. Sport events to keep an eye on: Mexico City Marathon, Formula 1 race at Hermanos Rodriguez Racetrack; NFL regular season Chiefs vs Chargers at Azteca; NBA regular season game at Arena Ciudad de Mexico 37. Bazaar del Sabado de San Angel - Artists and painters display and sell their work at Plaza San Jacinto. 38. Palacio del Ayuntamiento (City Hall) - City Hall is the building in front of the Metropolitan Cathedral on the opposite side of the square. Similar to Los Pinos, this government building was closed off to the public even though it's historic and absolutely beautiful inside. 40. Mercado Coyoacan - Blissful tostadas and many other delicious dishes too many to list 41. Museo Frida Kahlo in Coyoacan - Place where Diego and Frida lived for most of their married lives. 42. Xochimilco Canals - Classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Board at either Embarcadero (dock) Nativitas if you want a more party and touristy atmosphere or Embarcadero Cuemanco if you want a more tranquil and nature focused experience. Research prices before going. 43. Lucha Libre at Arena Mexico 44. Castle of Chapultepec - Only royal occupied castle in the Americas. The views are some of the best in the city. 45. National Art Museum - The name is self descriptive but a visit here would be worth it for the architecture alone. Incredible building and so is the art. 46. Street Art Chilango Tour - $25USD street art tour primarily around Centro, Roma and Condesa neighborhoods. 47. Paseo Dominical Reforma Centro - On Sundays the city's main boulevard and downtown streets are closed for biking, skating, roller blading, walking, dance classes etc, etc. You can rent bikes at good $ at Poray Bike Rentals. 48. Los Pinos - Former Presidencial Residence recently opened. 49. Biblioteca Vasconcelos - Incredible library thats seems out of some sci-fi movie with its architecture. 50. Alameda Central - Beautiful park in downtown. It was the first public park in the city and served as inspiration for Central Park in NY. 51. Churros at El Moro either downtown or at La Condesa - Hands down best churros in Mexico 52. Eat at Finca Don Porfirio for a stunning view of Palacio de Bellas Artes from the 8th floor of the Sears building in front of Bellas Artes. The prices are very reasonable. 53. Museum of Anthropology - Main museum in the country showcasing Mexico's millenary civilizations. It's most well known piece is the Aztec Calendar. Mexico a Pie offers good tours of it. 54. Templo Mayor next to El Zocalo central Plaza - Ruins of the most sacred pyramid in the Aztec capital Tenochtitlan. The Spanish razed it, buried it and used its material to build their own temples. In the 1970s it was rediscovered. 55. Soumaya Museum - Impressive plasma-shifting-like building housing the art gallery of the richest man in Mexico. Free entrance. 56. Torre Latinoamericana for great views of city - smog in worst during winter months so visibility might not be the best right now. 57. Teotihuacan Pyramids - Huge Sun and the Moon pyramids from ~300 B.C. Teotihuacan is classified by UNSECO as a World Heritage Site. 58. Museo Dolores Olmedo - Museum related to Frida Kahlo. 59. Chinatown downtown - Its a tiny chinatown but its cool.
