I’ve been to Cancun, honestly while Maxico’s ancient history is young compared to Mesopotamia, Rome and Egypt, it still has a lot of history behind it worth exploring, considering the might of the many structures that still maintain to this day, leading us to imagine what they look like. Not to mention my Uncle on one of my Aunt’s side is of Mayan descent and is a really cool guy. Not to mention, Maxico’s other native residents could a bit of stories I would love to hear from them. Not only that, the Mexican have a strong knack for color and I love it.
Mesoamericans should reconstruct their true culture. Colonial culture only brings self-racism, corruption and stagnation since it makes them not believe in themselves.
It's... Shocking .. when I used to see all the great structures of Maya people.. i always used to think.. what a great culture it is... But colonial period had a toll on this great culture.. this happened in India too. Everyone wants their children to learn English but no Sanskrit or Hindi or their any other local language.
The Mayan city states were collapsing before the Spanish arrived. The Spanish were just the final nail in the coffin. But, I dot think that’s the real story. The Mayan people survived the city stars that mostly oppressed them, and they survived the Spanish, and survive to this day.
What people with more technological advancement did to all these growing societies is horrendous. Were the Mayan's like the people of Cuba? Believing the spanish was a gift from one of their good god's? I am happy these people are still around. I wish they had more support to become a more powerful force in the world. They are practically the last of all the ancient Spanish cultures. I hope they can build something more for their people that is beyond discrimination and indigence. Long live Hatüey and other great heros of ancient spanish cultures.
The narrator said that very little Spanish is spoken. The Mayan language is what's spoken. But the interviews are in Spanish. The first woman spoke Mayan.
The children of this ancient community seem adorable . Do any of these modern day Mayan people also speak English ? Possibly not if alot of them don't know how to read and write . Anyway , IF any of these natives in this video can read this comment I'd like them to reply to me ( in English ) telling me IF they'd like a Hollywood action movie made in their community ~ giving the world a better education of their situation ( and hopefully some laughter in certain scenes ) . ♑️✍️🇳🇴🇦🇺
