I'm not happy about RDJ as Doom because it feels to me that Doom will be only in two movies and that's it. The thing why people enjoy Doctor Doom is the relationships he has with the heroes. The F4. Iron Man. Black Panther. Dr. Strange. Namor. Thor. Adding to the fact that Doom is basically supplanting Kang who was the established big bad (and they could've just recast the actor who played Kang and his variants). It just feels rushed, and throwing this "patch" to save this phase.
Using RDJ as Doom comes off, to me, as total weak sauce from Marvel. I think they are trying to appeal to the "old crowd" to drum up excitement in recognition of how they've been face-planting on their projects since "Endgame" . With regard to the figure, good stuff there! I have to laugh a little at the inclusion of a pistol when DD has other options to pew-pew with his armor, let alone his magical attacks. I think they refuse to hire anyone new because in order to fulfill the role of Doom you need an ultra masculine brainiac who has a powerful voice and that just isn't the direction woke Disney and Hollywood is going this day and age. I think that David Batista would be an excellent choice for Doom as well as the Jack Reacher's actor. And if I would be able to stretch my fantasy, I would cast Sam Hyde as Dr Doom :)
Doom is very imposing figure so I think his height may be a little lacking but The Thing is definitely too small. Look at Thing vs Hulk books. They’re the same size roughly. Since Latveria is in Europe even a guy with a British accent would work. Collin Farrel. John McGinley (Dr. Cox,Scrubs) would be a good choice I think.
Glad you could get him! I am sticking with my Legends versions, but I bought this guy's hands and effects off eBay from a reasonable seller. I am working on adapting them to plug into my Legends now for a kit bashing project. Mezco effects are the best!!!
Comparing figure to figure is one thing but when you add all the accessory options it’s well worth the price as you will not need another Doom after this.
In the MCU, I think Doom will go around bangin’ all the chicks, and when he gets to Rogue… Channing Tatum is gonna flip out screamin that only he can shoot Doom babies into-da Rogue… and then he’ll make Doom go boom!
Not gonna lie Russ. It's to the point because they are the same 6 inch scale, I've taken to posing my Mezco, Mafex, and Marvel Legends together. I agree about Mezco in general that the display possibilities with all those accessories are high. I can't wait to get my new Marvel Legends Dracula because he will be getting posed with my Mezco Blade fighting it out.
I respect your optimism with regards to RDJ playing iron man. But there’s no way we’re gonna get “the real doctor doom” no way is RDJ gonna let himself be upstaged by some new guy. Victor Von Doom in the MCU is gonna be a Tony Stark variant, and there’s nothing anybody can do about it…
My figure of the year for sure and FF tin box set is my favorite of the year for sure! NOTE!! Maybe it was my Doom but be careful when you articulate the elbows and the knees, on mine the kneecap plate and elbow plate came off. I was able to glue them back and it's been fine ever since but just be careful.
@ShartimusPrime I don’t have many Mezco figures, but this was a must get, this is by far the best DOCTOR DOOM figure ever made! I did have an issue with the armor on the elbow joint popping off, but I was able to reattach it, and haven’t had any issues since. I absolutely love this figure and have incorporated it into all my other collections at some point just to be able to use all his accessories! Like I used the cosmic power siphon for him to defeat my Mezco Christopher Reeves Superman! I’ve been trying to withhold too much judgment on RDJ returning as DOOM, cause I want to see what they do with it , but I really feel like someone else should be cast in the role. However if they do what you say, I’d actually really appreciate that, and it would make a better story than what we’ll probably get!
Nope. Same. Cabal cape is way better in standing poses, the sculpt is much harder-edged, right down to the rivets, and I much prefer the broader proportions of the Legends body. The Mezco just isn't intimidating enough. He looks like a skinny guy in costume armor, and the tunic makes his trunk a shapeless box. Slap a sewn-on tunic over that "shirtless" body on the left, and it might just be perfect. The true shape of Doom.
Or there going to be like during the snap tony lost his daughter and pepper and became suoer sad so now he want to change the world in his image with absolute control so this never happens again or some shit
Your theory is a little off brotha, RDJ is confirmed to be Victor Von Doom, not some kind of Tony Stark variant, and not the mind swapped Tony stark either.
Need another doom ml and Not in a dang 3 pack Mcu doom theres just way to many issues to overlook and they already spoiled the movie. Good chance his mask gets removed and see rdj under there

So sticking with a household name is safe since Disney stock is crashing. I think that David Batista would be an excellent choice for Doom as well as the Jack Reacher's actor. And if I would be able to stretch my fantasy, I would cast Sam Hyde as Dr Doom :) And As Shart said in the beginning, a clever marketing strategy would be to go based on that arc where Ironman becomes Doom but is actually controlled by Doom. Smart moves
M-SHE-U is finished.. They should scrap everything and start all over again with all new actors and tell stories from the original series without the race and gender swaps and lose all the woke crap. Cast little known actors with the comic accurate costumes and build them up with some of the actual comic stories with NO Changes. Oh and lose RDJ for ever. Please.. Otherwise they can keep it all.
