No way he should be slightly taller than a Mafex Wolverine and shorter than 6'3 190lb Scott Summers in the same toy line. Looks good outside that but I should not have to modify a $100 figure. I'm glad I could help bro. Not being able to accept the scale is totally understandable but for me I'm just enjoying the figure on an individual bases.......its a cop out, I know 😂 but I just like it.
@@UnparalleledUniverse It's not a cop out. They're fictional characters, and have no "real" weight or height. I have the standard release and love it but, like you, I have huge affection for this look. If I see it and have the cash, I'm going to get him. Period.
It's a nostalgic thing for me. I already bought him today before seeing the scale size which is a bit of a let down. But marvel vs capcom 2 memories sold me on this.
My local comic shop stopped ordering them due to poor sales. So apparently, the whole line isn't nearly as popular as it was just a few years back. I got a small collection of them, but I'd honestly rather spend the big bucks for a Mafex comic figure. Something that looks like the comics/cartoon.
@@Chalor. yea, because a lot of people see through cloth goods and started to look into scale and proportion after the initial "omg, 1/12 scale figure with cloth goods" shock subsided and then you now have other company that makes 1/12 scale figure with cloth goods that actually looks human when it is based on real actors.
I thought those were called Revoltech figures, or is Amazing Yamaguchi a different line? Man, why do all these Japanese companies have like three different names, it's confusing.
@@Chalor. Kaiyodo is the brand. Revoltech line actually ended in 2014. Amazing Yamaguchi is from the Figure Complex line after the end of the original Revoltech Line. Original Revoltech line actually didn't have any scale and each figure is sculpted by various artists. The Figure Complex line is mainly all done by Yamaguchi Katsuhisa which we start to see a consistent scale. The goal of the Revoltech line and now the Figure complex stuff is meant to be a posable statue which took the idea of their garage kits and add universal joints to them to make it posable. It is also why they're mostly very stylized unless they're characters with a set design like Woody. so certain reviewer always claim the revoltech stuff has bad design and bad joints (they should've done this and that like regular action figure) etc, simply because he has no clue.

Standard version seems to be the best. More lights and you can activate the lights easier with the switch on his back rather than needing to remove the head and neck peg. And the scale as you pointed as well.
I love this uniform for Cable but, man, the size of him ruins it. I'm gonna wait for the Revoltech Cable. It's gonna blow every Cable action figure ever released out of the water. Also, the Mafex Magneto is something to look forward to.
Yeah the size is a bit of a let down. That Yamaguchi Cable looks great but I'm afraid that they will make him shiny like Deathstroke 😔. That Magneto though!!!! That's gonna be crazy!
My complaint is the same as everyone else's that being the scale. I also wish they had a new head to replace the slightly open mouthed one. That being said I really like cable so it was still a must have for me
I really appreciate your videos, especially the comparison section. After seeing the size of him next to the standard, I think I am going to just get the standard version. If I can find a cheap version I may pick it up for the suit and maybe see if the standard boots would work for him. Thanks again
I love this look for Cable. 90s and MVC2 all the way but dont think this is the figure for me, I'm too much of a size queen and Mezco recently has gotten really all over the place with scale despite how good the figures are. Honestly, wonder if the DKR body would have been a better choice despite that being pretty old now. And it really kills me cause I love the execution. Just the height hurts. Hopefully ML or an import with do this look eventually.
The MU 3.75 Cable remains one of his best figures imo. There is some great things on this one, soft goods look good and I like how it goes nice with Cyclops in theory but wtf on his overall height, yeah that is a bit jarring. Amazing review as always bro
Oh man, I might have to agree with you about the MU Cable! That's a nice figure! Yeah this Cable can be made to look OK with Cyclops but you have to be pretty forgiving about how off it is.
Whatup UU! That spear is actually called a Psimitar. And you're absolutely right! He is WAY too small! Trust me, nobody would argue that fact. He's actually taller than Thor (6'8/6'6). The only figure they gave "correct" scale to is Gladiator Hulk.

Interesting. The body is beefier but he's shorter. They're Mezco-ized so the heights don't have to necessarily be EXACT but it is a bummer he's clearly shorter here. Maybe it's more iconic but it is funny how many people remember Cable in his giant shoulder pad phase (technically he had two different types of goofy oversized shoulder pads) but he actually looked like this in the comics for WAY longer. The shoulder pad phase was extremely short.
I don’t think Mezco dropped the ball, regarding size, just being cheap and know it’ll sell regardless. I know moulds are expensive (I’ve heard up to around $80,000) but they already save a lot, considering most of the time they just need to add fabric on top. I’d like them to make a new buck when appropriate, which they could reuse again for other similarly sized characters. It looks cool but I’m glad I cancelled it, I don’t like that he’s small but really my main issue is that these are expensive and they definitely make enough money to do it properly.
Really? honestly the original is better he looks bigger and he looks like a badass yes this costume is classic but the other one gives you way more with the lights and to me i have no problem with his articulation with the original one he moves just fine for me this one looks small but again mezcos are there own 6 inch size not 7inch so to mezcos the original one looks just fine next to my wolverine and cyclops and deadpool
With the seemingly endless amount of Mezco figures coming out ( Thanos just being announced) is anyone having joint issues with their older figures? I find on the Deadpool and the captain Americas that some material is starting to flake and the joints are getting looser but no major issues yet. Is this normal or am I storing them wrong ? I don't exactly want to remove the soft foods and mess with the bodies or something
fujidoom low humidity verging on “dry” is the best way to store the figure. I keep them in glass cases with very low humidity. I’ve emailed Mezco themselves and they say humidity is the killer of joints and faux fabrics they use. Make sure the room they are stored in is never damp.
That being said I have a few buddies with the “scale” armour cap that started flaking. It’s something you have to be willing to deal with in the future with some soft goods. We also don’t have a lot of experience with older mezcos as I think they are wait earliest 2015-2016? This is the major reasons the value of Mezco drifts as no one is sure how a Mezco will look 20 years from now. Wil the outfit still be ok? How about the joints? It’s something us collectors will have to learn as we go. Hopefully they last but even 5-8 year old hot toys start to degrade.
I also handle the figures with nitrile gloves, I’ve never touched them with my skin, our skin has naturally oils unless your shrivelled and dried like a prune.
fujidoom a little heat should unstick your joints. I have a small heat gun for setting model paint and primers and a few blasts of that to any figures joint usually unsticks it no matter the age. You can also use a blow dryer, just keep the heat indirect if possible:
Yeh was kinda joking and kinda not joking. Really unhappy with his height even more unhappy with the height of the px. I’m a sucker for that suit though and wanna set him up beside both of the cyclops and xmen dead pool.
@Alexander The Great True, I've only been reading comics since 1972. Still a lot to learn. I do know he was better dead, though. Same with Barry Allen. Bringing them back was a huge mistake and a real step backward, which is pretty much DC's thing.
