Meze is incredible and I understand Sennheisers time tested products are legit but not for everyone . I know the whole 600 line is light on bass and they are all pretty intimate with the incredible mids . I hear the Pro 109 is a fun and engaging headphone . Looks beautiful too. Great review Sir and new subscriber . I think I wanna pick this up for my Brother . So thank you
Great review, thanks! I got 6XX and pad swapped Thieaudio Ghost, which is supposed to have a 109-ish type of sound on a budget. Zeos said they were very similar, would be fun to compare them sometime.
You're definitely right, you'd have to be deaf not to notice that the sound on any planar sounds dead compared to a dynamic driver! And the planar bass cannot give the same pressure as a dynamic driver! So my question is how does the 109 compare to the Denon 7200?
Looking to buy a dynamic open back under $1,000. Should I go for the Clear OG or the 109 pro? I listen to mostly analog electronic music. Bass is important, but I don’t need a big bass boost. Just good extension, presence, and texture.
I've been trying NOT to buy these but I have a feeling I'll grab them at some point. The wife say's she'll leave me if I buy any more audio gear and tbh I'm looking forward to testing that threat, lol.
I own and enjoy these when using a warmer source and pure copper cable. I don't think SPC and a more analytical source so then any favors, though. And I'd caution against casting some music as audiophile whereas other music isn't. Audiophiles like all types of music, and we should honor that.
I own several multi-kilobuck headphones and the Meze 109 Pro are probably my favorite despite being much cheaper. They sound incredible, particularly after they are EQ'd. I still adore my Focal Utopia, but the Meze have such a rich, full sound by comparison. And they still manage to retain a ton of detail in the upper treble. Amazing.
@@spamcan9208 The reason it sounds fatiguing to you is probably because it has a slight peak just before the 10khz region, but once you EQ it that peak becomes relatively less pronounced versus the other frequencies. Good luck!
