Phillip Saunders I agree 100%. My grandpa was a farmer. I really enjoyed visiting ! The problem is family farms is they can't feed everyone, today. That requires a corporation, as much as I hate to say that. It would be great if government would enact laws enabling the family farm, not only survive but also flourish, to compete with the corporate farms on a local level. The local community would have to diligently support the farmers. Meaning allow local government to zone , without a fight, the land appropriately. The local people would have to willing to accept the sights, sounds, and smells of a farm.

Ran 1 last week in Idaho, baled over 37,000 bales with 1 never missed a bead and brother in law said he's probably close to over 125,000 through it still never missed a bead, unbelievable. Love it.

Yo hace poco he comprado una de ocasion y la verdad es que solo puedo decir maravillas. Es rapida, podiendo empacar hasta a 4 kms/ hora i hacer 1000 balas dia dependiendo del tajo, de facil mantenimiento y el pick - up come lo que le echen.

This is for dry forage. Usually grass or alfalfa. The procedure is, first the forage is cut and laid out in a windrow to dry in the sun. The forage is then baled when it is dry.

Only two failures in this animation. 1. The amount of hay coming over the pickup drum is out of proportion to the amount of hay on the ground. In fact the amount of hay picked up would be a very poor amount. Second animation failure. 2. The shape of the bales are like either bricks or wooden structures. Not hay or straw bales. Otherwise you might think it is a real tractor. The amount of hay picked up by the stuffing box seems correct.

One of the toughest jobs i ever did to this day. Bob self said you had to be at lest 12 years old to help picking up and storing the bales. I earned 20 dollars a day and he let the five of us kids to share a bottle of beer. God damn it those where the days

It is worth noting that the knotting system is exactly the same as appeared on the first binders in the late 1880s. No one has manage to improve on it. If you watch one working you cannot make out how it works because it operates at such a high speed. Even watching a slowed down video it is difficult to grasp it. Imagine what sort of mind the Victorian inventor must have had !

Where I work, we took a similar baler and scaled the pickup and entire baling chamber down to work for pine straw. I spent many hours inside of it welding. Not fun to work on, but they’re incredible machines
