MF 35x with Massey Ferguson 703 square baler.Baling straw at West Mains Farm 

When I left school in the early 60s I spent the first four summers on a 35 and 703 baler doing about 14000 bales of hay and straw every year .The baler performed faultlessly all that time and the 35 ,a 23c 4cyl easily powered it with a Browns mansaver sled behind .These were the happiest years of my farming life and I fondly remember them .

My neighbour cuts, bobs and bales with a 35x every year. It's a joy to see . I don't know what baler he uses , but puts out perfect bales .

the straw should be in a better row, then you wouldn't have to fork it onto the pick up reel!!

I have walked some miles behind these balers trying to find out why they missed bales sometimes. Great times thanks.

Baling straw with a MF 35X & Massey 703 square baler

Do you know where I could get parts for this baler? I have the same baler but the housing bearing of the PTO shaft is broken. Thank you.

I remember my uncle telling me that they had one of those balers many moons ago. Apparently it was rubbish!

I wonder if you miss picking the bales up by hand or , even worse, by pitchfork and putting them on the top of the trailer. At least the workers in the field chatted and laughed with each other.
