I found his music in '07-08, one man wrote the damn soundtrack to my 20's. you'll find your faves and the standouts and they'll still be just as powerful now. We may have lost his talent but the seeds of his talent are budding, hope he's smiling down on us with his brother and all the others he lost in his time.
I hate how I prefer this to the original. Edit: 3 year later I've learned my lesson and now stand on a pretty much complete vinyl DOOM collection. Thank you breakfastend5977 for introducing me to such a great artist.
It might be blasphemous to say, but I love this beat so much more than the original. The ambient guitar hit really nice, but the percussion in this rip combined with Homer's modified screams sounding vaguely like steel drums gives the whole thing this hard-hitting industrial sound that slaps.
Dude i totally agree. The percussion in this version is snappier than the original. The guitar sample in the original also has delay in it, which gives it a much more ethereal vibe than this version. I prefer the crisp, almost panflute-like beat in this one.
No fr tho. I think they both have their merits but this beat as a standalone is much better than the original, tho I think when vocals are added this version is a bit less optimal bc of how there's less room for the vocals to come through
The mark of good production is finding a hook that works regardless of where you sourced or composed it. This sounds even better when it's the Homer sample. We've lost someone truly talented. RIP MF DOOM. SAY HIS NAME IN ALL CAPS!
