I was scrolling to see someone else mention how great it is when they get along. It's also nice because Lisa gets stereotyped as a no fun nerd and Bart gets stereotyped as a moron who can't take anything seriously, but when they hatch a plan they play off each other's strengths really well.
From what I've read about Simpsons lore, it's likely that 90% of these lines were from George Meyer. Many Simpsons writers have said, "If you're quoting a golden age Simpsons line, it was probably George Meyer who came up with it."

thats because pretty much the only connecting thing between the old simpsons and season 12 and up simpsons is the name. Simpsons is now just a generic boring sitcom without the laugh tracks, or atleast it feels like it.

20:54 I'm actually impressed that Ralph was able to grasp the concept that a restaurant would be forced to close if someone ate all the food inside. When I was a kid, I just thought that restaurants existed and only closed when people didn't want to keep running them.

@@PsychoHenni I know right? You get to a point where you give up on finding newer bands, and just stick with what you know and love already, because modern stuff just makes you go "Wtf?". The Skinner quote of "Am I so out of touch? No it's the children who are wrong" is similarly relatable in this case
It's hard to imagine that this show's golden era was written 30 years ago. It's humour was so ahead of its time. That's why I love this show, it's modern internet humour except wayyy before any of that stuff existed.
I feel like the "modern internet humor" exists in its particular format BECAUSE of the contents contained in this video, rather than it coincidentally being "ahead of its time" No disrespect... but this video is like the origin of modern memes!
Yes!! Am watching now, and I hope if the "Ice-cream, Ginger Ale & Chilli" is in here, that the extra "Texas!" at the end of the scene isn't cut. Blink and you'll miss it though...Took me five or six watches across 20 years to notice it.

The fact that there's meme moments missing here is a reflection on just how memeable this show is (in its first 10 or so seasons). It would be impossible to include all the meme moments but this is a solid compilation and in order too. Respect.
I love that in the 90s the idea of a Planet of the Apes musical was a punchline, yet with all the weird, crazy brilliant musicals that are around, it actually sounds like a good show 😂
My favorite one is where Milhouse passes a note to Nelson that says “guess who likes you” but it’s actually from Lisa. But Nelson does not know that, and sends him to the hospital xD
As I scrolled past this thumbnail on my phone, the preview started playing. It was at 0:10. The preview video synced perfectly to my tv which was playing The Simpsons s2e15 as 'The Homer' was being revealed.
The only memes I missed were "to the Beemobile!", Milhouse explaining how Bart's factory collapsed "first it started to fall, then it fell.", and Steve Martin's trash commissioner telling off Springfield in his farewell address.
