MFT Note-Taking: What I Include & Avoid in My Notes!

This was very interesting to watch. I have always wondered what a therapist's notes looked like. I feel like I just got a sneak peek inside the teachers lounge or gradebook 😂

Your video was SO HELPFUL!!! I was doing the same - long progress notes with too many details. As an MFT grad student, I wonder how taking notes in sessions conflict with you being fully present during your sessions. My program stresses as MFTs, we want to be fully present and refrain from taking notes in sessions but I find it very difficult to remember important information with my clients without taking notes during the session. It was stressing me out! Thanks for the outline. I'm going to implement it right away!

I’m in grad school now and I have an assignment due next Monday on progress notes. Thank you, thank you, thank you for this video because now I know how to map out these notes, and what to consider noting.

What is a Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist? I though there were Licensed MFT's and an Associate was someone who was unlicensed or what we used to call an intern? Not evocative, just curious.
