I just finished this kit last night. I love how easy it is to transform and it looks beautiful. The buster rifle is probably my favorite part of the whole kit. Putting in the shells for it feels like loading a triple barrel shotgun
Mecha Gaikotsu, Just to let you know, Still to this very day I actually agree with you on what you said, New Mobile Report Gundam Wing (or in the US Mobile Suit Gundam Wing/Gundam Wing) was a very unique show and I still love re-watching the series over and over again cause something about it was just absolutely fantastic in my book. I'm still glad that this show was the very first Gundam series to present Gundam to the US on Toonami. Also, now come to think of it, I just remembered that wasn't also Mobile Fighter G Gundam was also presented to the US on Toonami?
@@AssaultRider555 I know but in Japan, "New Mobile Report Gundam Wing" is what they went with in the TV Show, in which later when it came to the US it was then called "Mobile Suit Gundam Wing".
Just built this one and was hoping it had been updated in the last 10 years. I'm really not a fan of the mechanism that shortens the ankle to go into bird mode. Oh well. I have the new RG wing gundam on preorder and the Ver. Ka to make up for it. And just finished the proto zero before this one. Kinda hope Bandia will put out the rest of the TV versions that came out in the later portion of the series with updated frames and more average gundam heights.
Wing Gundam was also my first gundam that i bought. The sad thing was that i forgot one part of the buster rifle. The barrel... I tried to get it out of the trash but was too late.
minor points of fact- The Epyon is not TV accurate in MG (Though its a bad ass kit, I have 2.) And the Tallgeese technically isnt either; though its mostly the verniers and some color applications.
I dont know why but back when i watched the anime as a kid i always believed the legs would fold up so the toes pointes forward. When Gunpla came out i found out that it isnt like that but still a little suprised every time i see a wing gundam kitt with the legs spread in bird mode....
Kunio Okawara (The guy who designed the RX-78-2), designed the TV version, while Hajime Katoki (The guy who designed the Unicorn Gundam) designed the EW version.
Long answer incoming. tl;dr version: - Wing Gundam TV Ver. = mecha from TV show designed by Kunio Okawara - Wing Gundam Ver. Ka/Ver. EW = redesign of above mecha, by Hajime Katoki - Wing Gundam Zero TV Ver. = mid-season upgrade to Wing Gundam TV Ver., designed by Kunio Okawara - Wing Gundam Zero Custom/Ver. Ka/Ver. EW = redesign of above mecha, by Hajime Katoki - Wing Gundam Proto Zero = another redesign of Wing Gundam Zero TV Ver. for the manga retelling, designed by Hajime Katoki Despite sometimes significant differences in armament and capability, the TV Ver. and Ver. Ka designs are generally treated as interchangeable. ------ Let's get detailed! The original Wing Gundam was designed for the TV series by Kunio Okawara, veteran mecha designer and RX-78-2 designer. He also designed the Wing Gundam Zero, canonically the "prequel" to the Wing Gundam but which serves as its mid-show upgrade. With the release of the OVA series/movie Endless Waltz, the Wing Gundam Zero, along with the four other mid-show upgrade suits, was redesigned by Hajime Katoki. This version of the Wing Gundam Zero was referred to at the time as the Wing Gundam Zero Custom. Shortly thereafter, Hajime Katoki released drawings of theoretical redesigns for the pre-upgrade mobile suits, including the Wing Gundam. These redesigns had no "official" names other than their original names: Wing Gundam, Gundam Deathscythe, Gundam Sandrock, etc. When the Katoki-redesigned Wing Gundam was made into an MG kit, the kit was named "Wing Gundam Ver. Ka" to put it in the same line as other "Ver. Ka" kits. The Wing Gundam Zero MG kit that was released soon after that, based on the Katoki redesign, kept the name "Wing Gundam Zero Custom." The MG release of the Okawara-designed Wing Gundam (ie the kit featured in this video) came out a couple years later and was called "Wing Gundam TV Ver." When Bandai began releasing MG kits of the other Gundam Wing designs (Deathscythe, Sandrock, etc.), they received the names "Gundam [Such-and-Such] Ver. EW." (EW for Endless Waltz.) They re-released the "Wing Gundam Ver. Ka" with slightly different colors and a different set of decals under this banner as the "Wing Gundam Ver. EW." (The Wing Gundam Zero Custom received no such re-release and remained the Wing Gundam Zero Custom.) Another release of the Wing Gundam Zero followed. However, this one was neither the original Wing Gundam Zero (Okawara) nor the Wing Gundam Zero Custom (Katoki), but rather an entirely new one taking design cues from both. Dubbed "Wing Gundam Proto Zero," this kit was based on another redesign from the manga retelling of the Gundam Wing story, "Glory of the Losers"; in it, the Wing Gundam Zero transitions from this "Proto Zero" form to the familiar "Wing Gundam Zero Custom" form. (This was also designed by Hajime Katoki.) Further revisions of the Wing Gundam Zero have been made since, and these revisions can be seen in both the upcoming GFFMC Wing Gundam Zero EW figure (which is largely the same as the Wing Zero Custom but features a shield, a Neo Bird Mode, and extra weapons) and the Hi-Resolution Model Wing Gundam Zero EW kit (which has extra wings and a redesigned chest). Despite some (sometimes significant) differences between the various designs, they're more or less interchangeable with each other. The TV Wing Gundam is the same as the Ver. Ka/Ver. EW Wing Gundam. The TV Wing Zero is the same as the Custom/Proto Zero/EW Wing Zero. It's super confusing, but also not at all.
This does seem pretty nice...but yeah, the proportions seem way off, stretched out like the God Gundam & Master Gundam MGs. Think I'll stick to the HGACs for this...
@Exion Reviews Start by making a unboxing and also GunPla kits reviews. Do what you think is right. Keep making videos. If you keep it up, you will eventually get a following where subscribers will give you tips or request certain things. Apply those tips and requests in future videos and keep improving. Also, a basic tip would be to make sure you upload video that is in HD or 4K. If it's not even in HD these days people will just not bother. Also, lighting is important too since if it's too dark or too bright that can get annoying.
@Exion Reviews No problem. Again there's no 1 way to do things. Just try to do what you think might interest people. Maybe really pay attention to how others do things to get an idea of a format if you want to make a channel that is structured and organized. Some people go with a formula, and others are more casual about it.
Honestly, I would if I could. I currently can't due to reasons. This stuff isn't cheap and it's a very niche market. Don't hate on Jobby for trying to make ends meet, if fans and subs want to help a creator try to do this full time, then thats win/win!
Mecha Gaikotsu No i dont hate Jobby. But that kind of strategy/gimmick or whatever you call it are quite indicent. At least for me. Because you know. Starting a RU-vid channel and asking to provide you support from someone else are a little bit selfish. I know you get my point. But as you said if fans want to help its a win/win.Sorry for the trashy english though.
Actually, yes and no. Wing Zero was the first Gundam design in Wing continuity, but it was never constructed because it was believed there was no pilot who could handle it. Wing is based on Wing Zero's blueprints, so it was technically developed from Wing Zero, but actually built before it.
