Thank you! I like the silver / grey more! White and black looks small a bit Red is not my type of colour but it looks good too!! I like the car! No doubt about it! Because it's not usually seen on road so it's a head Turner as well!
Agar aapko bahar service karwana hai then no doubt there will be an issue ! Mg ka service package accha hai 5 saal wala have a look.. shayad aapko confidence de 🙂 Nai to Hyundai to hai hi! Reliable brand
It's almost same as Creta! You can also chose a service package which costs 27000 for 5 years service and then you only need to pay spare parts costs! (Remember generally there is no parts replacement for first 5-6 years)
Bro I'm from nizamabad, never seen RU-vidrs taking my city name Glad you were here I got my Astor 1.5 cvt delivered last week. Was having lot of questions on mileage yours is first video on youtube to sum it up. Thanks for the information.
Hello Thank you for the mileage review. Planning to buy suv, bit confused between Seltos and Astor. Can I consider Astor Super CVT? Driving would be city and highways. Please suggest best manual and automatic variant in Astor
I love the CVT... it you want a better mileage giving car and a comfortable one ! Go for CVT. If you are driving enthusiast then manual transmission and turbo is for you! 😃
I am too upgrading from an elite i20 asta to Astor but i am a bit worried if the 1.5 CVT would be under prowered since i see a lot of comments around it. Most of my driving shall be within the city only. What is your thought, is the 1.5 CVT under powered and should i switch on to 1.3 Turbo?
No bro it's not underpowered... People compare it with 1.3 that's why they feel it's underpowered.. Now it i compare 1.3 with Mercedes...i feel my car is underpowered.. There is no end Best car is the one which comes within our budget 😊😊
I must let you know it was the best car spa i have visited for my cars! Your guys are hardworking and cleaning was done very nicely! And your nature added to this amazing experience 😀😀
I am planning to book MG Astor Base model because it offers best in segment features and my budget is 12 lakhs so its a good choice or not please tell me
It's a very very good option! The best value for money car and it gives a lot of features for its price! The service cost is similar to creta (segment best) and mg is really going to give a tough competition to Hyundai and Kia! So you can go for the base varient without any second thought! The mileage of manual transmission is also way better than automotive engine 😀😀
Hi, I'm confused between MG Astor Style variant and KIA Carens Prestige variant. Both the cars are at same price point, my budget is 12lakhs, pls suggest which will be the better option. Thanks❤
@@prakashparadisee I'm the only person in my family who'll drive the car, I'll drive the car on daily basis, like 10-20kms daily and i love to travel a lot, so I'll be travelling with my family and frnds, but there will not be more than 5persons in both the cases.
Kia carens is 200kg heavier than Astor with almost same power engine! If you don't need 7 seater (as you mentioned you don't) Then go for Astor! The waiting period of both vehicles have increased a lot! I hope you have already booked it!
We r very confused as it's milleage review is not good. Another car we liked is Mahindra 3xo Can u guide which one should we buy As in Mahindra the single thing we don't like is interior is off white which will get dirty soon
Bro did you have to keep your hands on steering every few minutes for the LKA to work on the expressway? Also, how good is the steering vibration warnings?
The warning is given by a beep and if you don't apply enough pressure on the steering it automatically gets cancelled! I used to gently place my hands and the car used to steer on its own! It's a great thing for expressways!
@@prakashparadisee thanks ... I have plan to buy Astor, with 4 people sitting I did not feel 1.5 lit MT underpowered... how is the idea of buying 1.5 MT against turbo?
we have booked a petrol cvt 1.5 astor and my father was having doubt about the mileage being less and this video clearly cleared all my and my fathers doubts wonderful video thanks a lot looking forward to take the delivery of our car once again thanks so much one question my father has that does the car roll back if u release break on slope and what does auto hold function help in
Hey. I have booked Astor Savvy CVT and it’s costing me around 18.5 lakhs on road and I am going to get delivery next week but I have few doubts - - Should I go for Turbo or CVT? I want maximum mileage and reliability and a long lived car. - Should I go for Seltos IVT at same price or go for Astor? - How much mileage can I expect from CVT and how it does performs on hills?
Hi, Turbo or CVT - depends on the type of driving you are expecting from the vehicle Turbo is absolute power CVT is comfort and mileage Reliability - both are very reliable! Seltos ivt - i doubt CVT - 10-13 city Highway - 16-18 Hope this helps Feel free to reply
@@prakashparadisee thanks. Only doubt I have now is w.r.t no discount from dealer + they are offering me 25K worth of accessories as compulsory which I am not going to take no matter what
Hi Prakash, I have gone through the video, I am planning to take Astor super variant, but the showroom itself is claiming a mileage of 13.5 to 14, how are you getting this much on highway, my biggest fear of not considering this is low mileage, i also had one owner experience in person, please clarify on this . Thanks
Mileage depends on driving method a lot! Just for an example - Honda amaze automatic used to Chaim mileage of 15.6 but i used to get 17-18 on highways and 12 in city! I generally drive easy and don't push the vehicle too much in first or second gear as the car mileage decreases a lot ! Showroom guys won't give you a big figure as they know not everyone drives easy and then the customer would come and fight over mileage. If the mileage figure is a big big concern for you then i would suggest you to go for 1.0 liter DCT. It gives a good mileage But even in that case do remember if you don't drive nicely , can't won't give good mileage !
Hi prakash Whether Astor comes with paddle shifters . If not , whether it's a big deal . Whether it take away sporty driving feel from driving automatic. I booked Astor & I came to know that there is no paddle shifters . While taigun ,kushaq , creta , seltos have paddle shifters
Paddle shifters are not a deal breaker! Honda has been giving these in their vehicles from a long time! But if you ask the owners ,how many times do you use it, they would say never Paddle shifters are meant for sports car where the acceleration is so high that you can't remove your hand from the steering else you wil meet an accident. It's a cute little feature for basic cars having minimal power. And there is one more thing that i would like to bring to your notice is that- paddle shifters are used in sports mode. In India everytime is concerned about mileage so can't use much. I have used sports only once in 4 months that too while making video! Hope this helps
@@prakashparadisee Thanks for your , such a detailed reply . But I think there is a triptonic gear mode (+ ,-) in gearbox . So we can take manual control in Astor
Yes we do have the Sports and Triptonic great box which is helpful on hilly areas! I generally recommend using the triptrnoc gears as there is a good sense of control over the vehicle on the hills!!
Hi prakash. Jeep compass base model comes under the same price bracket more or less. What is your suggestion on that? I have booked astor sharp cvt and my 80% driving will be a city daily driving. I am getting really confused btw having a powerful engine (jeep) vs feature rich top model (astor). Any suggestions will help. Thanks
I would say go for a smaller vehicle as your main driving is City drive! Jeep compass base model mein come cheap but it's maintenance won't be cheap and parts will be expensive The price bracket in which Astor exist, it can't afford to he expensive! We are well aware how VW and SKODA lost market due to expensive repair costs! A model having more features is always a welcome else you end up paying more for features! Astor base model owners are getting roof rail installed, then camera then seat covers and in the end investing a higher amount and high mental involvement! I would suggest you for Astor
@@prakashparadisee Thanks for the prompt reply. Yes that’s the reason i booked astor bcz of its superb value for money capabilities. And what you’re saying makes sense about jeep’s expensive part repairs and maintenance cost but then that can be accommodated with extended warranty that they offer for 5 years. The concern that I have is astor has a lot of tech involved in it and coming from a Chinese owned manufacturer i am not sure how reliable it is. Mostly they tend to have that brand perception of providing sub-par quality for all the claimed high tech value that they provide in their products. So is it worth taking a gamble on this because this will be the 1st time i am investing a huge amount on a chinese owned brand (no matter how well acclaimed it is). Sorry for the long reply but your videos and comments are super helpful in making this decision since you have become our go to spokesperson for MG astor vehicle. Thanks again!
I completely understand what you’re trying to say your issue is about the reliability of the products that are being manufactured from a Chinese origin factory. My brother owns a Hector and it also has a lot of tech in Warden that it’s been more than three years and the car is never fail to impress. There were some issues in the world in the car but those were promptly solved by MG I believe that was the main reason I also decided to go for MG and just like you even I was very scared of investing so much money to a company who I am feeling to trust completely. The ADAS feature is good To be the basic feature of every car in the future. Generally a company do not bring its technology just after producing it it involves at least 4 to 5 years of continuous observation and improvement. So I don’t think you need to be too much worried .in order to Be on the safe side you can also take five years warranty. I am sure that you will have a better peace of mind
Hi Prakash, I know you own 1.3 AT but I have confusion on CVT mileage. I am hearing CVT is giving only 6-7 mileage in city traffic but other rivals are giving 9-10 (Crete/Seltos/Taigun) in same condition. Any idea on this ?
CVT needs a tuning! With so many complaints , i am sure MG will do something about it! MG should be aware that we do care about mileage and a low mileage car isn't good for us! Hopefully a new solution will come soon!!
Hi prakash thanks for making this video... I am actually planning to buy automatic car ... Tired of driving manual car in the traffic...which automatic car do u suggest in terms of best mileage comfort and suspension...i am also a frequent traveller
Hi Prakash, thanks for the detailed video. Which variant will give better mileage? CVT or Turbo AT? I am considering Sharp CVT but open for Turbo AT if it gives better mileage (riding wise I am satisfied with CVT as I would primarily be driving in city). Other option is Creta (considering these 2 just because of panaromic sunroof). Almost wanting to go for Astor but a bit hesitant due to low mileage reviews (5-6).
Hi sondhara! Thanks for your comment! I am getting 10-12 in city And for mixed mileage have a look at this video! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UXVz8SJjbwE.html A lot depends on how you accelerate!
@@prakashparadisee thanks for your feedback. I am bit confused between tuxedo Black and sangaria red. I prefer black interior but I need to miss adas. Is ADAS really necessary feature for regular use.?

Bhai i am all set to buy the 1.5 CVT model this Diwali. I have to drive 1500 km from my hometown to Bangalore. Does Astor provide good comfort and less exertion during such long trips. Please share any tips and tricks such as using ACC from your experience :)
Yes bro! You will love the comfort this car provides! I would suggest take regular brakes! It helps a lot! Acc works well on empty roads!! If there are two wheeler or cycles then prefer self driving
im new to ur channel..i really enjoyed your video... i went to MG showroom yestrday for Astor as im planning to buy 1.. so this video helped me alot .. coz i loved the astor yestrday bt mileage was my problem
Creta Seltos Astor.. wat would u suggest me to buy..? as it is my 1st ever car and want to keep it for long term without any regret in future.. i stay in mumbai(bumper to bumper traffic all day everywhere) mileage and reliability is the most concern to me
If you like technology...you will be amazed to see the features in savvy model If you want simple technology with features which are advanced but not very very advanced, then sharp is for you!
1. Horn was not working properly 2. There was some noise coming from sunroof while driving on bumpy roads 3. While going above 95 there was some vibration sound coming from the sunroof! Couldn't get the issue resolved there as it would have taken a lot of time! So I have given the car in Lucknow! There was no engine issue so that's a good thing!!
The insurance I took was from MG only! But you can chose from outside as well (just make sure it's 0 dep) Also you need to take either loan or insurance from them else they become very unfriendly!
1. Horn was not working properly 2. There was some noise coming from sunroof while driving on bumpy roads 3. While going above 95 there was some vibration coming in the sunroof! Actually issues engine related ya suspension related nahi the so i was not much worried! Mg Lucknow mein problem solve ho gayi thi! But it took them 4 days to understand that roof rail had defect 😄
The "Big youtubers" are getting vehicle for testing purpose for a day or two. I the "small youtuber" is owning this vehicle from past 330 days approximately. Mileage depends on person to person too! How they accelerate/ Do they get intimidated by fellow drivers etc etc.
You also need to consider the weight carried by car while driving. You were driving alone so the mileage was 14.98, if car carried 4 passengers then it would have given mileage of 13 approx.
Your assessment is 100 right but it is also worth to note that the car was brand new and not even a single service was done!! Engines in general have a so called run in period after which it gets smoother and performance also improves! So considering that and also the reviews of people who own the vehicle i can tell you that the car would anyway give you around 15 in long where the traffic would be 70:30. I have also shared some of my drives where i got more than this on highways but it was 90:10 highway driving!
@prakash paradise could you help me to choose which model I buy in Astor 1.5 CVT smart or 1.4 turbo CVT savy ? Sunroof is not much desired feature for me ? Please suggest
Hi! We can definitely talk about it so that we can come to a satisfactory conclusion! I have a doubt- 1.5 smart costs 16.80 approx while 1.3 turbo savvy costs 20.50 There is a 4 lakh money difference and also the two models have different engine options!! CVT is relaxed as compared to Turbo CVT gives better mileage If you are planning to sit in the car more rather drive it then i would suggest you to go for Smart option as it will have all the good options! If you are going to drive car and you are looking for a car which brings a smile on your face everytime then it's turbo but that smile comes at the cost of lower mileage 🙂
@@prakashparadisee thanks Prakash you absolutely clear my doubts, 1. there is a huge amount of gape 4 lakhs it is big amount. 2. I want to relax while I drive ann enjoy my driving. 3. 1.5 CVT is going to give better milage then turbo ? Please reply to this question also
I will reply to all your questions don't worry about it! Definitely yes! CVT WILL GIVE ATLEAST 2.5KMS per liter extra mileage overall..! The 4 lakh you are saving you can drive the car for next 10 years (approx 70000kms ) i suppose 😄
I meant -suppose you save 4 lakh by buying 1.5 cvt...and you only put petrol worth 4 lakh in car then you can drive the car for approx 70000 kms with it 🤭
1. Horn was not working properly 2. There was some noise coming from sunroof while driving on bumpy roads 3. While going above 95 there was some vibration coming in the sunroof! Finally came to know there is issue in roof rail and it has been ordered! New one coming soon! The first service is simple - it includes basic check from computer...some more checks in engine and car wash. Costs 0
Hi. Great feedback on the trip. I have Astor Savvy CVT. I had driven it in highways and travelling more than 900 Km in 5 days. With reference to releasing accelerator pedal and decreasing RPM, I also observed it in CVT. Also, Adaptive Cruise Control increases RPM as compared to manually pressing the pedal (diff. 2.1 and 1.7 rpm respectively). Strange, huh.
Thanks 😊 The cruise works best on plain road with no elevation.. Else the car is always ready to roll! How much mileage you got on your CVT . WOULD LOVE TO KNOW 😀
@@prakashparadisee I got mileage of 16 on a six lane highway. But on typical Indian rural roads, it dropped to 13.6 kmpl. These figures are based on MID.
@@swetang maybe thats the Rubber band effect we have in CVT , WHERE RPMs increase but the speed doesn't in proportion! But this should not be the case with Torque converter!

Hi Prakash, thank you so much for this video. Can you please share: Hi all, I am planning to purchase Astor Savvy/Sharp CVT or Taigun. Currently, I am confused due to below points and not getting proper information about it. 1) Does the panoramic sunroof brings a lot of heat inside cabin? 2) how is the performance of AC in that situation? Thank you.
If it's Astor go for Savvy! ADAS is seriously impressive if your driving is more than 40% o. Highways! Taigun gives Superior engine and handling! Astor gives Superior overall experience
ADAS generally highways par kaam karta hai! Car ko ek lane mein rakhti hai! Aur blind spot detection bhi ek feature hota hai! Main ispar video banaunga!! Meri onroad price approx 20.80 AP 20.50 UP

MG Astor is awesome to drive…very stable and smooth..also rear drive assist and blind spot detection features were very useful for overtaking and U turns.
We are so happy that you took out time to comment and let the other perspective Astor buyers know how the car actually felt on such a long drive! Thank you once again!
@@NG-hu5uz between 13 to 13.5 …but that may be because of rough road between Kota to Bhopal and also because I am inexperienced driver on highway may be next time The average will be better.
Thanks erfan for commenting! I had roof rail issue and a noise was coming from behind when i was traveling on bad roads My horn was also not working properly! Since the issues were not realated to engine or suspension so i didn't worry too much!

Couldn't get the issue resolved there as it would have taken a lot of time! So I gave the car in Lucknow! There was no engine issue so that's nothing much to worry!
Engine efficiency is no doubt low But adding to that - there are people who are getting a decent mileage too! All cars have this issue Some owners of Hyundai venue with 1.2 liter engine also complaint that mileage is too low! But some claims it to be good While I do agree that marginally it’s lower than the competition but drivers also need to take responsibility on how they drive the car
Looks like Astor torque converter does not have lock clutch to remove torque converter continuous slip. But then it is surprising to see very good mileage. May be at 1500rpm, it is locking and releasing when pressed hard. Planning to take this.
One of the best videos I have ever seen on Astor… kudos to you I’m waiting for my savvy turbo delivery next week One question… you told you faced a few issues and needed to see the mg service centre… could you please let us know which issues are you referring to?

So glad you like the video 🙂🙂 MT will give approx 18 mileage in similar circumstances! I think that the internet is for 3 years! Going to MG tomorrow so will let you know after asking them Music system is fine but i would have loved it more if it has 6speakers +1sub Unit(just my over expectation)
Thanks for this beautiful video. I have booked CVT But my mind says to change it to TURBO engine. My most of the drive is in City only but need a good ride whenever i am on highways or free roads in the city. What do you suggest?
CVT is a great choice for comfort and mileage! If I had a CVT on the same route my mileage would have been apprx 17.5 ! Turbo is very aggressive! CVT will also cruise nicely at high speeds on Highway! Only when you have to overtake you will see the difference! 120bhp is not less at all! If you don't care about milege then Turbo car will be like a bliss for you!! I had to control a lot else mileage could have gone more low .. I hope I was able to give you a reply sufficient enough! If not feel free to comment and i will have a conversation with you

MG has service package of 28000/- which included all the service cost for 5 years or 50000 kms! Which i felt is a good deal! (It doesn't include parts/battery/tyres) 4. Hey there, thanks for this informative video. I have booked a Smart CVT variant and was wondering if I should upgrade to the sharp just for that panoramic sunroof. My initial hesitation to go go that Sunroof was because it has no proper hard cover and just that net/blind. Won't that be a problem in the summers? Given that it might bring in more heat.
Your welcome! While driving in the south i realised that the glass has some kind of coating which was not letting too much heat to develop inside the car
The open glass really adds a character to the car! No doubt about that! The only downside of sunroof is that - if it's not maintained properly (cleaning and lubing) it may result in water leakage! But had it been a common issue, companies would have stopped the sale of it!
