People buys EV cars just only to reduce their running cost irrespective of using too many fancy features. EV cars running cost is approx Rs. 1 /km in comparison to ICE engine which is approx Rs. 6 /km for petrol cars and the biggest disadvantage of using EV cars are range anxiety. You cannot start a long drive without proper planning of charging stations. You have to take care of few things before starting your drive with EV cars- 1. Ensure 100% charging of your car before starting your journey which almost takes 10-12 hours on home chargers. That means immediate or emergency rides are difficult to execute. 2. Maintain a speed of 60-70 kmph to get good range which means your driving time will increase. 3. You will avoid night hours journey due to range issues and poor charging infrastructure . 4. You can not go more than average 250-300 kms in one go. Recharging is required. That means you have to take rest for approx 1.5 to 2 hours after every 200 km drive. 5. Troubleshooting is really tough during any breakdown . You have to take your car only to service centre because local mechanic can't repair your car but for Petrol/diesel/CNG cars, you can easily find a local mechanic in nearby area . After all these concerns, we are buying EV cars because of their low running costs ( approx Rs. 1 / km) and this savings gives us a happinees that we have completed our 1000 km journey only in Rs. 1000 irrespective to ICE engine cars which would cost approx Rs.6000 for same journey. Now comes to MG windsor, which is definitely a good looking, bigger in size and feature rich car and may provide you a better feel and comforts but along with all these things our running cost will be Rs. 5 per km , if running is minimum 1500 km per month (subscription cahrges- min 5250 per month up to 1500 km) and if you drove only 1000 km in a month then this running cost will be approx Rs. 7 per km ( 5200/1000 = 5.2 + 1.5 = Rs. 6.7 per km) which is higher than running cost of ICE cars. After paying Rs.7 per km still we have to deal with same above mentioned 5 concerned of EV cars like proper planning, range anxiety etc. Now tell us how MG windsor EV is beneficial for us because good features and looks are not only the priority of EV users. If someone doesn't care about running cost then i can surely say that he will never go for a EV car . He will purchase a better looking , bigger and more comfortable car even if it given low fuel efficiency. EV cars are purely targeted for the users who are looking for low running cost. Amd in my opinion TATA Tiago and TATA punch are better option in price segment of MG windsor which really gives you running cost of Rs. 1 / km.

No advantage of this scheme to the consumer. If you drive 30,000 km per year you pay 1,05,000 as battery rental charges. And in 5.33 years you will drive 1,60,000 kms for which you will pay 5,60,000 rupees for battery. 9.99 Lakhs for the Shell is too much. Why not buy Tiago mid version for same price which includes battery .

Exactly Home charge is 1.57rs per km MG charge is 3.5rs per km What is guarantee they won't hike 3.5 to 6 in future? Even after 3.5, we have to charge car at home only..how that's works? What is network of fast chargers of mg? And If u charge between 20 to 80 percent...u r already deducting 40% of range 330km so in real u will get 200km and if u deduct 40% ....technically u r running it for max 150km hahahha It's super confusing...no mileage no clarity no worth. Wait till minimum 300 to 500km range like TATA

After 5 years when they change the fuel to hydrogen...then can they bring new scrap policy because 60 to 70 percent or more electricity is made by coal power plants so indirectly ev is equally polluting or more because coal is more polluting than diesel petrol..? I think we should not but cars and let them finalize the policy?

if there will be 1500km per month contract then, could you also confirm if customers hv to pay this battery rentals lifetime or after certain years or amount it will be free? This will make a big difference. Because say suppose we keep this car for 5 years then battery rental based will be 1500*60*3.5=3,15,000/- and for 10 years that will be 6,30,000/- , for 15 years it will become 9,90,000/- then it does not make sense.

If Tata NEXON.EV brings their on road price to as low as 11 Lakh then only it would start making sense. Also, PUNCH.EV should start 9 Lakh. Otherwise Windsor is way better option then these two cars. I hope government allows more International brands to tie up with Indian brands to launch more EVs in India so that pricing can become even more competitive.
