Here at Planetauto, we know that when we have a ZS EV on review, a road trip must be on the horizon, and not long ago we had the new, Long Range MG ZE EV in the Trophy Connect trim on review.
Powered by a new 72 kWh battery, with new styling and new tech - this is the SE.

Brilliant video as ever. I have an identical car in Standard Range firm and am loving it. For me I don't need the long range for my normal driving so the SR is perfect. We had a 5 day holiday around the Yorkshire Dales and there were more than enough chargers about not to cause range anxiety. Totally recommend 👌

Loving this film, can’t wait for part two. I’ve ordered this model in the SE trim but in Battersea Blue, ordered in January and delivery has changed twice…looking at the 29th August, although I may wait for delivery for the new plate.

Great episode, I have ordered this model for my wife as she is not really interested in electric seats etc. As you say really good value. Lead times are long though. Let’s have part 2. Many thanks

Very interesting. I’m still waiting for my ZS EV long range Trophy. Ordered in March, now expected September😢 The red looks nice but I prefer the black and that’s what I’ve ordered. As you say, the rides well and it’s interesting to hear the range updated throughout the vid. It’s all something to learn for EV newbies like me. Can’t wait for part 2👍

nice review as always. i think if i was gonna have a mg zs ev id take the se less to go wrong who needs electric seats didnt have them years ago. dont like pleather seats anyway and hard plastics on doors ideal for when kids kick them. take care both

@@PlanetautoUK yeah more practical aswell in an ev you dont need things to help take the battery charge down but deffo opt for rear speakers tho bon jovi in 2 speakers come on now. lol take both

For all new ZS EV orders after 1st July ALL car will no long be fitted with the skyroof as this is a cost cutting measure put in place by MG. They’re also deleting the Trophy Connect model as MG have decided to give the Trophy the Connect features. There will be no option to add skyroof as an extra!

Great review. Do you miss the fact that there’s no adjustable rake on the steering wheel? I’ve ordered one but that’s the only thing that is a tiny concern, getting comfortable. How do you find it? Cheers. Marc

Thank you Marc, no it’s fine - I’ve driven 1000’s of miles in ZS models, the seats are well angled with enough adjustment.

I’m driving a Kia Sportage at the minute. Had it for four years. Putting £90/ week in it though. Costing way too much. You’d recommend the zsev then?!

I really wanted to get an MG ZS long range but alas it was not to be. Ordered through the company car scheme and after 5 weeks of "faffing" with the dealership they informed me that MG were no longer take anymore orders for the mgzs. Ive end up placing an order for the cupra born v1, fingers cross it goes through

@@PlanetautoUK It got approved today by the company car scheme. I don't hold my breathe too much at the moment because prior to that an XC40 recharge was approved and the MG and both ended up getting cancelled. Hoping for 3rd time lucky. From what I've read 6-9 months for delivery. Hoping that as I've chosen the bog standard car with no options it might speed it up abit.

They can tow 500kg, at least the Trophy can. Brink do a tow bar and the on line manual shows one.

Still waiting for my car that was ordered in December last year I’m being told it’s still likely to be September before I will see it. it’s annoying that I’m now seeing car’s on the road I do wonder when they where ordered

I know it’s not great Martin, keep in close contact with your dealer, and you’ll get there - we had a long wait for some dslr batteries, everything seems to be delayed. Keep your chin up 😊

Do you think the long range could do 200 miles of motorway without charging guys? Obviously starting from 100% charge, say for example in both summer and winter?

Hello Tom, with steady consistent driving and coasting, yes.

can anyone answer this. if theres a chip shortage why cant they use chips from cars that are written off or chips from machines no longer being used and reprogrammed to do the job in a car where there is a shortage. am i talking crap just a thought sorry you seem to be the people in the know
