The MG ZS EV Standard version comes with a 7Kwatt/Hr AC to DC converter and a 51 KiloWatt hour Battery. Which means that you will be able to load only 7Units of AC electricity every hour and it will take around 8 hours on a Level 2 charger to charge from 0 to 100%. But we normally do not drive our vehicle to Zero percent ever. I charge once my vehicle drops below 30% and i charge until 80% and disconnect. Charging between 20 to 80% is said to prolong the life of the battery. If you have access to a Level3 charger which is 400Volts and a commercial installation > then the charging from 0 to 80% is around 50 minutes. The Level 3 charger is direct DC current and happens via the 2 pin CCS port on your EV. However the Level3 is a special type of charger port and available only at commercial stations and not installed at home. The Level 2 charger is 220Volt port and can be installed at home. The higher variant of MG ZS EV which is a long range battery of 71Kwhr has a faster onboard charger and can take 11units of electricity per hour on the Level2 charger.
The LFP battery can be charged to 100% every day on the AC charger. Cell balancing happens on the AC charger at 100% only . This gentleman doesn't know you must slow ac charge after 3-4 DC fast charging to prolonge battery.

The standard in high quality Level2 chargers is from a brand called "WallBox". The basic variant of WallBox can charge at 11Kwatt/Hour at 32amps. However for MG ZS EV that have an onboard charger of 7kILOWATT/Hour > the charging speed is set at max of 7 KiloWatts/Hour. The battery percentage on your MG ZS EV Raises 2% for every unit of electricity that you ship into your car. For the 51Kwhr battery MG ZS EV> The charging speed will then be 7units/hour or 14% of the battery. With 1% of battery you can drive roughly 3kms and thus with 1 Unit of electricity you can drive 6kms.The first few percentage points of your battery will drain very quickly after your car starts and after that the ,management of the battery kicks in.
I feel ZS EV is much better compared to other higher range vehicle because it has got a better battery efficiency which I feel cars with higher range or other ev misses out on!
With due respect Uncle-G, he should definitely read Owners Manual thoroughly. There must be Equalization Charging page which refers to battery optimization to give better results. Battery will degrade faster if instructions given by OEM is not followed.
In Trinidad & Tobago, our dealer wants us to service our MG ZS EV every 6 months (or) 10,000Kms. On the service our MG ZS EV gets the coolant level checked and the wheels are aligned and balanced and car is washed and returned back.😂
People should fear before taking advice from Over-Enthusiasts people. Because - either they are promoting product Or companies take advantage of their positive comments. Once they bring complaints, supress them. Reality nowhere to be found.
This guy has no knowledge as his Calculation is wrong for 6000 kms fuel cost will be 60,000/- he is saying 6 laks because in one litre any car will gv 10 km/ltr so to recover car cost it will take him 30 yrs atleast 😂
