Did you check out how the sound system works combined with road and wind noise? A number of reviewers of this car complain about the road and wind noise at faster speeds, I'm wondering if these can be overcome with this stereo ?
Someone has a video where they add an amp and subs to the their mg4 as well as 4x Vibe I'd be happy just replacing the stock speakers with some vibes if they fit
Rather a ruddy good video. I'm oh so into car audio. Did semi pro installs in the late 80's early 90's. I'm in Lexus and with Mark Levinson. Have you heard a ML system? There won't be a comparison with the MG4 I know. If I were to go electric then the MG4 trophy is top of my list by far. Do you know if a sub could be added to the MG4? I'm out of touch with car audio upgrades unfortunately.
Glad you enjoyed the review! Not tried Lexus or ML system, so can't comment, sorry. As for aftermarket solutions, if it's an active sub it might be plausible, but you'll need to go to an audio specialist to check.
Thank you heaps for reviewing a car's sound system! Too many car reviews don't bother covering this aspect of a car, so much appreciated👍. One thing: Drivers? I assume you mean speakers? Sorry for being old-fashioned and out of touch🤔, but I can't see anything wrong with just calling them speakers.
@@TotallyEV Cheers. Lol, in my profession too we have a lot of unnecessary jargon, when the original word works fine. I have to remind myself when talking to lay folk😉.
@@ecurb10it’s not jargon for reference, driver refers to the individual woofer or tweeter unit itself. you can have speakers with multiple drivers esp in home theatre. It’s just more accurate to say driver.
How easy does the screen come out? How many RMS watts is the screens amp? Could you fit a Vibe 4 x 65W dollar bill size amp behind the dash under the screen?
@@TotallyEV it’s an AAwireless dongle ……that we couldn’t use on our MGZSEV. My understanding is that you need to plug in to bring up Waze using your iPhone . I’m an old pretech dinosaur , so you cannot be too simple for me. (Our Tesla does it all for us)
But why do you need a wireless AA dongle? It makes no sense. If Waze is supported on Apple CarPlay (wireless), it'll be present via the wired mode too?
You’re not missing out on much. I don’t know how this guy recorded the sound for this video but he has massively exaggerated the sound quality. I have a trophy, enabled the virtual sub-woofer and messed with the equaliser etc and it still sounds well below par compared to other cars. MG really dropped the ball here but I cannot complain about the car overall. It really is a quality vehicle and great fun to drive.
@@dom9882 tbf the standard version’s sound system is still better than most cars I’ve driven. The best one was on my first car which was a Ford Focus Sport - great bass without sounding muffled or rattly, crisp audio, and loud as hell. Loved it, no other cars I’ve driven since have been as good, and I’ve driven loads of new cars through Zipcar. It’s ridiculous that in 2023 these cars have such mediocre audio. But I’m satisfied with the MG4.
