Thanks for the review, I know it is not emotionally engaging sound-wise and even less so through video and the internet. But I was really keen to know what it's like to zip around with it.
Well I have had Porsche taycan turbo s, 911, BMW M2, BMW 1m, BMW 135i, Maserati gran turismo and A45. And I can tell you that this car feels amazing on the road! People underestimate this car so much just because it is a china EV car. I have driven this car at 160+ km/h in big corners, driven it on track and it is seriously impressively good. It lies so damn well in the turns. So smooth. You should not underestimate anything before trying it. All of you who comment bad things have probably never even driven a sports car in your life and probably can't even afford this car.
I mean in the 60-70s everyone underestimated the japanese cars with little engines, in the 90s and 2000s everyone said the same about korean cars. Give it 4-5 years and people's opinion with completely change, again. Chinese auto makers had joint ventures with european/american automakers for decades, it would've been wasted potential if they didn't learned (or even excelled) how to make cars.
@@stefanschuchardt5734 muh "toxic fumes", your guys' euro 4 emits less engine pollution than brake dust. We don't use leaded fuel, and modern catalytic converters basically eliminated everything harmless about combustion engines. Meanwhile, producing one lithium battery literally destroys the environment.
Good review. One thing about the launch control - the power meter should show 66% if the launch control has properly engaged. That requires a hefty press of the brake and the accelerator pedal and makes achieving the claimed 0-100 time easy. I've had mine a month now, it replaced my 2012 Jaguar XFR. After intially missing the sound and involvement of a powerful petrol car, I'm gradually getting used to the qualities of the MG. It accelerates significantly quicker than the 500bhp Jag. And the running costs are incredibly cheap on the EV electricity tariff I'm on in the UK.
I see that the comment section is what I was expected : blah blah blah electric blablabha live with your time guys. worst case : don't buy it :) (I won't, I drive a M340i, but still, let people enjoy it)
M340i is a M, out matchs any EV today. EV is a thing lets poor people to enjoy 0-100 super car speed with a low price like MG4. although it sells 3 fold of its chinese price.
Actually the launch control would be perfect if you hold the throttle until the x power bar goes to 66 bcs its always they stuck to 12 for like couple of seconds and then they boost you up to 66 and when your boost is on 66 is arleady better just take your foot of the brake and let it go
@@hardywoodaway9912Sure, instead use your HV-battery to drive a DC-converter to generate heat that costs you crazy amount of range… I don’t care what you guys use as an excuse, my car gets the same mileage whether it’s +40 or -15 Celsius. Oh, and guess what… It ain’t electric 😂
Glad i got the xpower, above 70% its an animal. Long range, ill swap that range for a very quick car. i kinda like how it behaves, i mean coilovers, wider tyres and softer front sway and will liven up. I suspect theres more in the launch, stock tyres are rubbish. Bang for buck, running costs its hard to beat.
Just leased one, test drove last week and I've gotta say, for the money, the fun and the fuel you'll save, this is very good, plus ill never own it so who cares 😂
What do you guys think of Xiaomi SU7 (in top trim), which gets form 0 km/h to 100 km/h in 2.78 seconds (claimed)? With top speed of 260 km/h + and in China it costs 300 000 CNY which is equals to 38 700 EUR. Hope to see Max or Martin driving that Porsche taycan clone once on the autobahn
Could not care less. My fridge goes 0-100 in the same time off a cliff, I don't want to be in it though, being monetised and spied on every time I drive to the shops in my 3-ton truck, destroying the road surface. Other people are ok with all of that though.
How many had driven it? I have, standard, luxury and X-power. X-power has two motors, one with 250nm and one with 350nm. You can feel the engines, no doubt, you can throw it in corners, no doubt 😊
This car give you more performance than vw golf r, audi s3, mercedes a 45 amg, with half price, and trust me more reliable than all German brands, they give you 7 years warranty, ask your self how much bmw give you warranty And remember mg not charge customers any extra for reversing camera and....not Like VW, Audi, BMW In real life you can't drive 200 km/h in any country except Germany, every single road speed camera And if you can charge it night time at your garage, it's much cheaper to run than all hot hatchback Here in UK you can pick up 1 years old mg4 X less than 25k£
One of the few new cars that has a nice sloping bonnet. Most cars nowydays - SUV or not - go with this rugged, massive, fat, tall look in their front end, which I hate.
Im surprised no one has said "you didn't do the exhaust test under the bridge" 🤣😂🤣 Maybe if you turned the heated seat & steering wheel off, you might have hit 3.8secs 👍🤭🤭
but have you tried to drive them in winter. 4WD and its good. in winter, and Good for Fun to crack some Audis. and Try on more dry road. and wait for the Click, it will go faster than 3:98
Long gone are the days that new cars are reliable and dont have issues.... cheap build quality and overcomplicated and sensitive electronics that will be a nightmare in 10yrs
While that paint color is absolutely sick, love it, kinda reminds me of Ferrari's Verde Masoni or Verde Minerale..... you said "cheap"..... I want everyone to realize this is the same price as the BMW E46 M3 coupe was when new..... how utterly disgusting has both inflation and auto pricing itself gotten over the last decade or two.... geezus Christ, and we were already complaining back then 😑🙄
But this cycle is inevitable. If we went back in time and economy started from 0, we would end up in the same place. As soon as economy grows, more and more people get into government to regulate everything, so companies will adapt and add more and more useless stuff to comply, so you end up with these motorhomes instead of cars. Everything until the system collapses and cleans the economy.
The software glitches are expected in these modern cars as everything is code driven... and as we know, code always has bugs to fix. The brake failure ... now that is extremely serious....! When you look at the interior of this, why would you ever waste your money on a Tesla...? This is so much better.
@@mro9466 Why? You spend what you can and if you can spend more, trust me you will. A 10 year old car is a logical choice if you have a limited budget but it is a compromise, especially because safety is important when you have kids for example.
For a new car in Europe, with these specs and size, this is very affordable. I’m not saying 40000 euros is nothing, but looking at the new car market, it’s relatively cheap.
No, for this price, I really can't fault this car. When it comes to power-to-price ratio, it's unbeatable. You won't find any petrol or diesel car with this much horsepower for this price. That's an advantage of electric cars over petrol for sure. I will still stick with my petrol horses for now.
@@martinogold makes no difference buying the cheaply build, monitored Elonmobile or the cheaply build, monitored Chinamobile. Makes no difference, just one is more expensive.
@@origaminefretami3480 All of the state-owned Chinese car manufacturers use a mish-mash of different foreign components. They look like generic video game cars.
They certainly are interesting cars at a decent price, practical, ugly as sin, but being Chinese made and rebadged as one of Britain's most iconic motoring companies going back just under 100 years is somewhat sacrilegious to me. I also worry about software stability and security, long- term support, and how easy it is to get them serviced if needed. Battery, drivetrain and electronics longevity is also a concern. Basically, everything after-sales is a huge red-flag.
Ev no soul peeps ….i mean let’s be honest at this price point with rear e-diffs and torque vectoring….come on those of you kept shouting for cars with soul please don’t pretend like ur average 2.0 four cylinders can give any “souls” more than this car has to offer 😅my god ur average 4pots even with turbocharged wouldn’t sound any much better than those “dream cars” u so wished to have….im honest with my choice I wanted a V8,V10,V12 but financially I can’t afford them but with EVs at least I can have that thrill of acceleration….this car for weekend drive or daily commute to work….another car with souls for backup….nobody limit u from having both option so don’t resist EV…embrace it😂
This car is made of Chineseum. Very cool... Now, if the brake caliper fell off, I hope the battery doesn't catch fire and you do not die fried inside because the seat belt stays locked. But otherwise it is a cool car.
Fast in a straightline. Horrid everywhere else. Get rid of the naff brake covers and fitting some decent tyres may help but the cheaper models are nicer to drive.
Why do EVs have to be so damn ugly? Plus almost all are so weirdly high, like a mini SUV. The only nice ones that come to mind are the Ioniq 6 and Ioniq 5 N.
Cool, a sports car for the poor middle class. 😎😢💰 But next time, please stay out of this electric crap, except for maybe the Tesla Model S with activated "Ludicrous Plus Mode" for 2,3sec 0-100km/h 😂
@@valerystoichkov7429 Our neighbor has the new Tesla Cyber Truck here in Ohio. Smart idea, the brushed stainless steel body, with 4+ months of winter, icy temperatures, tons of snow and salt and the deepest pot holes you have ever seen. And if it doesn't snow, it rains an average of 130 days a year. Greetings from Ohio, Marco 🇺🇸
@@valerystoichkov7429 Well, I plan to buy it off my neighbor in a year or so after it has lost 80% of its value. Might be worthwhile driving in a demolition derby - weighs 3,5 tons after all. 🔨
